Contest Noctowl vs Swellow

I think Noctowl is good in battle if you do it right. I don't know anything about competitive battling but any in-game Noctowl I've had has been able to handle itself well, and has been incredibly useful the whole way through the story.

Swellow. STAB Guts Facade kills Noctowl... among numerous other things.

i used my noctowl for catching Darkrai his ability was very usefull for that,so i pick him cuz i never used a Swellow

I prefer Noctowl (he just looks cooler and wiser in my opinion and he's an owl [I have a fondness for owls]).

I once trained a Noctowl in Pearl. To put it plainly, it sucked balls. Noctowl isn't useable ingame, and sucks competitively as well. Swellow all the way.

I disagree. I have a level 59 Noctowl in my Soul Silver, and it's great. You must of not trained yours well...

but I digress, I like Noctowl, but Swellow is my all time favorite Flying Type Pokemon (Braviary comes real close)... so Swellow wins this one.

Swellow.
Speed + Flame/Toxic Orb + Facade = My kinda kamikaze bomber! :)

Which is your favorite?
- From these two, it's Swellow that flies to the high skies.

Which is more useful?
- I'd say Swellow. I used Noctowl once in the old Silver days and it let me down.
Meh...Noctowl just isn't my style. I prefer fast/hard hitters, so there's not even gonna be competition on this.

Who would win in a battle?
- It's true that Nocty is more defencive than offencive,
but then again Noctowls P.DEF is actually really low...Special defencive bird VS Physical attacking bird...Yeah. Swellow'd crush it.
True, Nocty get's Hypnosis, but that won't help against Swellow with Protect.
And once it gets it orb status, it can facade Nocty far too easily.

So yeah...Swellow.
It also wins in looks.

Any Pokemon is usable if you use the right strategy. Plus, some bulk in a early bird Pokemon is nice (RE: Tailow). Seriously I got a Lv.5 Hoothoot in my Heartgold, it's still on my team and it's nearing Lv.80. You just have to find a way for it to work.

Everyone's entitiled to their own opinion. Plus Swellow hasn't worked for me, it's too frail.

Now I could use the same arguemnet that you didn't train yours well. :D

But there's pne absolutely undeniable fact that Noctowl does in-fact "suck balls" competitively.

Swellow wins in my eyes. He's pretty useful, with high speed and decent attack. Noctowl wasn't too amazing. I like the shiny, though.

Swellow, man, there is no contest. D8 Swellow is just so cool and "suave"! I named mine after Falco for how cool these two look. Not that Noctowl isn't cute, but Swellow is the clear winner. FO + Guts + STAB Facade! Pure ouch, dude. D8 Norman should try this in RSEmakes...

Swellow, because he's been fairly good for me in competitive battle.

I voted for Noctowl, primarily because I like its look, and even enjoyed it from an anime standpoint and game standpoint. Swellow is good, too, but I just prefer uniqueness, and Noctowl, is very unique.
