Simple Questions / Simple Answers (Gens 1-7)

Re: Starting new game, good pokemon to catch along the way?

Archen is amazing from start to finish. Once you teach it Acrobatics, it will roflstomp through everything that stands in his way. Don't worry about Defeatist, most opponents will be too busy being dead to activate it in the first place, and if it does activate, you will still have Potions.

Re: Starting new game, good pokemon to catch along the way?

I am not an expert when it comes to which Pokemon is the strongest Pokemon. However, I thought Darumaka and Darmanitan were excellent Pokemon.

Re: Starting new game, good pokemon to catch along the way?

If you want a good Psychic or Flying type, then I recommend Sigilyph. :)

Re: Starting new game, good pokemon to catch along the way?

I do recommend Lilligant, especially if it ends up with Own Tempo, because then Petal Dance has no drawback (unless you count the uncontrollable status). Scrafty has a delicious type combo and defenses to fix its problem with the flying and fighting types.

But also, I do like how Stoutland (from Lillipup obviously) turns out late game. It's bulky with only one weakness, but with fairly decent attack and plenty of great STAB choices as well as Crunch.

Can't deny, both fossils are amazing in their own ways, especially when Carracosta gets Shell Smash (either ability helps its survivability too). But Archeops and Acrobatics? Lethal. And it's fast.

Re: Simple Questions / Simple Answers (Gen 5)

How many (time) Pokémon can wait in the Entree Forest?

I play in the DW mostly for the berries and I'm too lazy to catch the Pokémon I send to my Entralink! :p

Re: Simple Questions / Simple Answers (Gen 5)

@rafaelluik There are 6 sections to start that hold 20 Pokemon each. So about 120 pokemon. It will expand once it is full, similar to boxes in BW.The Deep Clearing holds 10 Pokemon.

Re: Simple Questions and Simple Answers

So I'm playing Emerald version (finally got around to it, yay for disposable income), and something has me stumped. I can't find the answer on the wiki or via a cursory Google search, so I humbly submit my question to you guys. Occasionally when I catch a Pokemon, I'll see two stars coming out the sides of the poke ball at the moment of capture. Otherwise the ball just turns gray. Anyone able to tell me what the difference is?

Isn't that just the normal capture animation? As far as the ball turning gray, could you elaborate a little more?

Re: Simple Questions and Simple Answers

Sure thing. Occasionally the ball will wiggle for a few moments. When it comes to rest, the ball darkens (I called it turning gray up above), no stars. I haven't caught enough Pokemon to give a good idea of how often one or the other happens.

the ball goes gray but turns back to it's normal color, yes? ya i'm thinking what you're seeing is just the pokeball's capture animation :)

Re: Simple Questions and Simple Answers

Right. But why then are there stars sometimes and not others? By the way, thanks for taking the time to explain something so basic. :p I really do appreciate it.

As far as I can tell (and I just checked some videos to make sure) there are always stars. Three stars, to be exact. The ball darkens when they appear, and returns to its usual color when they disappear. I haven't been able to find any videos without the stars.

Re: Simple Questions and Simple Answers

I suppose I should always entertain the notion that I'm seeing things. I'll be sure to pay more attention in the future. Thanks for your help, guys :)

Re: Simple Questions / Simple Answers (Gen 5)

How do you trade Hacked pokemon over GTS?

Re: Simple Questions / Simple Answers (Gen 5)

is arceus still befriendable in DW/and how do I get him?

Re: Simple Questions / Simple Answers (Gen 5)

Could Hacked pokemon be traded with friends in the wifi club?

Re: Simple Questions / Simple Answers (Gen 5)

This is probably a stupid question but well... How it is determined wich box your newly caught pokemon goes? I keep getting new pokemon but they seem to go to my boxes completely at random. And they're defenately not going where I want them to go! It's annoying having to always go to the pc after catching new pokemon to rearrange it.
