First 2008 Title (it seems)

Oh....

I'm sorry, Yotsuba. I didn't realize you felt that way, and that you didn't mean anything by that comment.

I just wanted to defend 4Kids, because some people DO bash them whenever they have the chance. And I don't think that's fair when, they really did a great job with the dub, in my opinion.

It should also be noted Jessie's skirt tends to fit like a second skin. So it doesn't...behave like Dawn's.

That was most likely at the behest of Virginia's government. And since it's original animation it wouldn't count as an edit.

My question is if Dawn's going to be dressed as she usually does when they make their way to Snowpoint.

Except even a normal person can look at this
And say "Isn't that a bit too short?" Do you REALLY believe 4Kids would've been totally ok with it?
Maybe they would have raised an eyebrow (hell, we all did).

Would they have made the Japanese draw Hikari with a longer skirt? I doubt it, since they didn't do that with Jessie. On the rare occasions when Jessie's skirt rode up a bit, 4kids made it longer themselves, in those individual episodes. They did NOT force the Japanese to alter Musashi's character design, despite two opportunities when it would have been a natural development for TR to get new clothes. That's my point.

First of all, even though I haven't been arguing with you because I think you're crazy and paranoid, I am going to start to lean towards that conclusion if you accuse 4kids of 'having a fit' over a silly little edit that was accompanied by absolutely no outside comment, rant or moralising from any spokesperson for the company, over a skirt that they normally allow to be as tiny as can be. Hyperbole is not the hallmark of a non-biased party.

Secondly, Dogasu even said in that comparison that:

we've seen some much more scandalous shots of Musashi in the past go unaltered, so why are they cracking down on this sort of thing now?

Anytime someone says something bad about 4Kids anymore, people seem to jump to the conclusion we hate the company with a furious passion.
No, any time someone says something bad about 4kids that is silly, other people are going to argue with you. Because they think you're wrong, not because they're fanatical 4kids apologists with a bone to pick. If I hear an argument that doesn't make sense, and I can be bothered to dispute it, I will. You have no reason to believe that 4kids would have gone to the source to get Dawn covered up - no evidence at all. A very obvious counter-example is walking around in the anime as we speak.

I mean really, if I said "Hey look, there's a sign. If 4Kids still had the show, it would've been covered up" would you still yell at me? Because I'm assuming something that only makes sense?
One: I'm not yelling. Now you are being paranoid.

Two: if you'd said, "hey look, there's a sign in Japanese. If 4kids still had the show, they would have made the Japanese write it in a different language altogether", then that would be more comparible to what you're arguing now. Except that we have good reason to believe that Tajiran was introduced into the animation at 4kids' behest, whereas we have no reason to believe that 4kids went around persuading the Japanese to draw longer skirts.

As for Satoshi...poor thing. He doesn't seem to enjoy it. Takeshi probably wanted to help a girl again and forced Satoshi to wear the dress to assist. I hope he gets a tux or something eventually. Or maybe as joke, give him a male outfit, but it turns out to be cosplay of some kind. XD

Actually a better response from Shinji would be to smirk and barely laugh. Probably a mere "tch" sound. Satoshi would then probably just twitch and try and be as polite as possible. Either that or get really depressed. XD

I can see Ash being nice enough to help Brock, course some times the gang just force the poor guy to dress in weird things. The apple for instance in the Orange Islands episode, he just seems to have the wost luck with these kinds of things. I'd love for Ash to do the eye twitch thing if Paul was there, that would be too funny. I'm hoping they do some Ash/Paul shippers fan service and have Paul appear there, I know it would be totouare on poor Ash but as a Paul/Ash shipper inside me I can't help but to hope for thatXD
Ask for Ash in a maid outfit <<<Adorable EEeek.

Yes, this episode gives Ash more main character abuse, in the form of once again making him crossdress.

Poor Ash. ;_;

And as for costumes, oh man, the poor guy has literally been forced to wear 4 different costumes so far: Mr. Mime, Apple, Octillery, and Eggplant costumes.

Wow! It's almost like the abuse never ends for Ash! XD

The writers sure love to torture the poor guy and put him in, what he thinks are awful situations. They might be very amusing situations to us, but to poor Ash, they're a nightmare. ^^;

Anyway, I guess the only weird situation he brought upon himself was when he got turned into a Pikachu. He volunteered for that. Of course, that wasn't what he expected at all, but he still enjoyed the situation regardless (and that's awesome, because he doesn't enjoy the other kinds of abuse he gets from the writers!).

I know! It is a lot of fun! ^_^

And it's great how the writers can think of so many different things to do to Ash, and at the same time find different situations to put him in. It's amazing!

But still, I can't help but feel sorry for him. It's an Ash fangirl thing (or perhaps I'm the only fangirl who truly feels bad for the poor guy). XD Yeah, I'm that attached to him, that I actually feel sorry for him when he gets hurt or embarrassed. XD

Oops....

I forgot about that one. ^^;

Okay, so he's been in 5 costumes. Wow, that's even more than I had initially thought! XD

But yeah, 4 of the costumes were forced upon him. And Seviper was the first one he wanted to wear willingly. Haha. XD

Yes, it was indeed Misty's idea. ^^;

Ash always falls for "tricks" by his friends. I mean, really, the poor guy. With everything he goes through, you can't help but feel sorry for him. XD

Hehe. Let's see, Brock forced him to wear the Mr. Mime costume, Misty forced him to wear the Apple and Octillery costumes. Ash decides to wear the Seviper costume (yay!). XD And then, Brock forces him to wear the Eggplant costume.

Brock: 2 points
Misty: 2 points
Ash: 1 point (he chose to wear the Seviper costume)

And it seems Brock will most likely force Ash to dress like a maid. That's another point for him. Dang, he really needs to stop listening to Brock. LOL. XD

Dawn hasn't forced him to do anything yet. That's interesting....

Well, you're right, both Ash and James did wear the Eggplant costumes.

But no, it was actually Brock's idea, because he was the one who suggested it.

I think Sigourney just went along with it though. Because he wanted something, anything, to be done to stop this giant Claydol and save the town.

Is Ash really MADE or even tricked to wear most of these costumes? I'm sure the ones involving crossdressing wasn't something he would go along with without much fuss, but Ash doesn't seem particularly horrified whenever he has to wear a costume. Either way, it's just a way for the writers to get more laughs. Because it's Ash. In silly costumes. We all love silly costumed Ash.

By the way, Apple Ash: best Ash costume. :p

I only liked the eggplant costume, but this maid costume looks great also.

EDIT: Actually, I like them all.
