Generation VII confirmed!

I'm so glad that they were able to release these trailers without CoroCoro being leaked. As much as I wanted to find out some news as soon as possible, I also wanted them to have this surprise after they went through the trouble of getting information out before CoroCoro. Plus, a part of me is still kind of sad that Sun/Moon's reveal was spoiled before the anniversary trailer. I wouldn't mind if they did something like this every month, or at least every once in awhile, during the pre-release season. It would help to reduce the chances of information getting leaked out.

Anyway, the trailers are great. I really like the starters, I love the look of the new Alola region, the legendary Pokemon look cool and I'm so happy that trainer customization is most likely returning in the games, if not flat out confirmed. This really helps to make up for the months of no news and that drought should hopefully be over for good.

so the text in the Japanese trailer was translated and it revealed that the PC has just moved to Alola (presumably from a long distance). interesting.
I got that impression from the trailer. Presumably the real people in the trailer came from Japan and moved to Hawaii, which is probably why they didn't want to use that for the international release since it would be "less relatable" even if the trailer was much better.

Either way, the "moved from another region" thing isn't new. They did it in Hoenn, and they did it in Kalos.

hmm looks like I am getting what I want I hope to see some reactions from them ... if hit by an attack or show them saying an attack move or something like that...

Honestly, both legendaries are very unique (aren't dragon-looking gladly) but I'm more into the sun's legendary. Before,I really hoped the sun legend would be a lion, since of "SolgaLEO" in it, and how it would make much sense if it was a lion. I'm glad they made it look so different than the other lion looking pokemon, such as Pyroar, Entei. It LOOKS powerful too. I was thinking about getting Moon there, but now the Sun has gotten to me

As for the starters, I'm really digging Rowlet. It looks SOOOOOOO CUTE, good job GF. I just hope it's final form is better. Not really feeling Litten, and Popplio feels ok to me.

Island-hopping in "Hawaii" seems very unique if this is where it's heading too. Feeling very optimistic about these games! (I love the fact Customization may return, as we can change the skin color!)

If trainer customization is back, then anuthing is possible. They either heard critisism about ORAS or were holding out for some odd reason and lied horribly. So yeah, with that overhead shot of the island, I'd say soaring is back.

i doubt it'll be anything major-- the 'new face in town' thing was dropped pretty quickly in both Hoenn and Kalos-- but you never know. i was honestly a little surprised that more people hadn't brought it up with all the hubbub about SM as the GSC to XY's RBY. (guess that has less credence now that we're officially going to Hawaii.)

Hey I have one question. In one pic it shows the rival having the weaker type than you do. Does this mean that he's not the major rival?

Whew! What a storm to go through! I am really loving the Moon legendary! I am not really feeling any of the starters. Hopefully the final stages will rectify that.

So, customization seems to be back, but I am not sure about clothes customization yet.

You are jumping to conclusions for no reason. Customization wasn´t in ORAS cause it´s a REMAKE. And Soaring... could be back, however we have no proof or hint currently.

Let's hope it's just one more and not like four more again...

I wouldn't expect it. The whole point of having that many rivals in XY was to tie into the "bonds" theme of those games. I think they'll go for something a bit different from that this time.

@Soki Then there is still hope for a douchebag of a rival(whoever is hoping for one)

Edit: I think they're just two if they can hide four of them in the game without showing one more......

Customization wasn't in ORAS cause apparently its a Kalos exclusive feature accorsing to Masuda, and gameplay or mechanics should stay exclusive to regions and their games, not carry over. I loathe custonization, and my reasoning is present with the PC designs being the blankest slates ever, but the fact that it IS coming back means that region exclusive features is another lie on Masuda's blackboard of lies. So yeah, I'm not jumping at conclusions, I'm just hopeful if they lied abkut regipn exclusive features, then perhaps soring CAN stay as it doesn't have to be limited to Hoenn.

Anyone else thinking this might be a game set earlier then XY? Ever since gen 4 they have been ramping up the technology and going foward in time, leading up to XY and its hologram billboards and holocasters and see-through Pokedex, but I have a funny feeling with how rural and all Alola looks, it might be a bit earlier. Route signs aren't futuristic, the PC aesthetic for the opebing cutscene is a bit lowtec looking, and in general I don't want to keep going forward in time, its going to male it ecen harder to keep the older characters stay.

That wasn't the excuse Masuda used for that interview.
I never said Masuda said that. Just pointing out the obvious. ORAS was a remake, so having customization didn´t make too much sense. I think this is the real reason customization wasn´t in ORAS.

In my opinion, it has to do more with individual features. Trainer Customization doesn´t have to be Kalos exclusive, and I think it can fit any non- remake game, but Soaring definitely sound Hoenn exclusive to me. And DexNav.

To be honest, I feel like they originally planned for customization to be for Kalos only since they really went with the theme of beauty and all. Then they saw how much the players love customization and how disappointed they were without it in ORAS so they brought it back. I guess you could say the same about other features (why weren't those brought back?) and I don't disagree that ORAS being a remake played a role. I just think the players were pretty vocal about customization and it really made no sense not to include it in future games so they decided to bring it back? I don't know, just my take on it. Don't mind me.
