Alola Variant Pokemon: Thoughts and Predictions

Favourite Alolan form so far?

Thinking about some more Kanto Pokemon, here's some others I would like to see:

-Kingler Fighting/Steel
Give it Hammer Arm and Meteor Mash for smacking things about with that giant claw.
-Seaking Dragon/Fighting
Make it a Siamese fighting fish and get it over and done with. After we have a dragon palm tree I really want a dragon goldfish/koi/whatever.
-Starmie ???
Not sure, but Starmie seems a good candidate to me and it should be something interesting.

Maybe either make them more of a deepsea creature, or do something with their alien connection? I don't think either would need a new unique combination, but a new ability would be nice. Dark/Something for the former, Steel/Something with Levitate for the latter (making them some kind of UFO). Or just make em Dark/Steel with Levitate for the alien concept? I think they really just should do something with that old 'Starmie comes from the stars' dex entry and they copuld always just say Alola's open oceans and clear night skies allowed Starmie to ascend or something. But maybe keep Staryu (partially) water, leaving their birth place the ocean

As for A-Persian, I think a Dark/Fairy combi wouldn't be bad at all (even though we seem to have gotten quite a few new fairy types already. Not that Im complaining XD) Anyway, the fact A-Meowth is spoiled rotten, combined with Persian's majestic vibe just screams Maine Coon to me (I mean look at them Mythical Beasts: Photographer Captures The Majestic Beauty Of Maine Coons). Or something else large and fluffy and clearly in need of a lot of attention and grooming

Staryu and Starmie? they really would need maybe fairy or something, its hard to tell, but water/psyhic isn't that bad.
Maybe fire/dark lava swiming stars? could also see ground/ghost, ground/fairy...
Or make first one dark/water and second dark/psychic? but maybe we try to overdrive them. Maybe some should be left alone? Water/ghost or water/steel would fit it too but would also trigger the right stats and not to take away a place of a other poke with the same type combo.

Cloyster in warm sea should be water/fire but slower.

Muk would make a fine poison/psychic, "poison/fairy", poison/eletric , poison/steel poke.

Hypno, psyhic/ghost, to protect from new stronger normal types

Scyther bug/dragon (if Marowak gets fire/ghost, come on creators dont torture us)

Farfethed fighting/flying (come on)

Raticate dark/ghost (regular is weak to fighting, this would be weak to fairy)

Alolan Seaking could get water/fighting form for its male counterpart but with moves like Close Combat , Brick Break with horn, Flying/Press and others , maybe Skill Link + Arm Thrust. It regular form has Lighting Rod a very nice immunity against electric types, maybe fighting should get some new ability to get immunity to flying or against its own type after so many years (Combat Skin or Bird Proof)?
Siamese fighting fish - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kingler would make a fine ghost/water, water/fighting or ghost/fighting(Ghost crabs);
Crabhammer will always remain water, remember.
And we got also other crustacean pokemon from other generations if you remember.

But some of them rather would desercve megas I think and others could rather use better movesets and new moves. Some are maybe too good to be changed.

Given my username, of COURSE I want to see Houndoom get more love. Not that I expect it at all, considering how many factors are stacked against him (non-Kanto, already has mega) but it's fun to dream, anyway.

As for what type he would be, that's a bit of a head scratcher. Steel kind of fits - perhaps a small group of Houndoom were transported to Alola and set free, or escaped. Because Houndoom battle amongst themselves to determine a pack leader, this small group toughened themselves up so much through fighting that eventually their armor (horns, backplates, cuffs) became hard like steel. That's a really weak backstory, but you get the idea. With steel/dark typing, Houndoom could get increased physical defense and increased attack, he would lose his SR weakness, and he would have only three weaknesses overall (1x Fire, 1x Ground, 2x Fighting). I just want my boy to be competitively viable. Seriously, GF, Solar Powered?!

Anyhoo, I would also like to see an Alolan Eevee that evolves into a normal type evolution. As for it's design, it would be a fully fleshed out Eevee, keeping the bushy tail and ruff but gaining a more powerful and elegant look. Alolan Eevee would not be able to evolve like regular Eevee, perhaps because the conditions in Alola never required for it to adapt any further. I had an idea for a "Mega Eevee" a while back, but Alolan forms are a much better outlet for it.

Here's a good idea.

Solrock -Fire/Psychic

Lunatone- Dark/Psychic

I know it seems only Kanto Pokemon night be getting Alola forms at the moment but I think it would be appropriate for Solrock and Lunatone to get some love in games called sun and moon.

Ugh, I hate the use of that thing. It's really not helpful in most arguments, the simplest theory is NOT necessarily the best. In fact, this very fallacy stops doctors testing for some things, just because it shares symptoms with something much more common, leading to a potentially very dangerous misdiagnosis.

Excuse me for my clumsy choice of expression. Still, I'd sooner not have a lecture about medical practice simply because I don't find a theory about a cartoon butterfly very credible.

The only thing I ask from Alola forms is to not ditch a Dragon pokemon's Dragon type please. They can ditch other types but not Dragon in my opinion. I want to see more Alola variants with Dragon typing.

I'd really want to see a Ghost/Psychic Alolan Snorlax. Just imagine this:

You come across a Snorlax just relaxing on the ground. You think that it would be a great addition to the team.

But suddenly, it levitates into the air, disappearing through the trees... And you think to yourself: "What the heck?!"

I'm still holding out for Alola variations of the Eevee evolution line. Plus something new with the prehistoric Kanto Pokemon.

And pretty much the water Pokemon from Kanto: Goldeen, Seel, Tentacool, Staryu, etc..

They already have one too many Alola forms with Dragon IMO. (Lookin' at you, Execcutor)

I'd honestly would REAL love to see a Dark/Poison Grimer and Muk tbh, or a Dark/Psychic version of them. I think it would suit them? Maybe Poliwag line becoming Ice/Psychic or Poison/Fairy.

Perhaps Psychic/Fairy? Fairy because it comes from the stars, which relates to the Cleffa line and Fairy-types' relation to the moon.

I like these variants. My favorite so far has to be the Marowak fire/ghost, though I hope we see more Alola variants.

I'll just note that we've generally seen Aloha forms for Gen I dual-evolutionary line Pokémon that haven't previously received much attention or been particularly viable, perhaps with the exception of Vulpix and Ninetales.

I'm willing to bet that Alola being an archipelago region will mean water-type variants. And even though we haven't seen any yet, I'd venture to say that based off of the criteria above, we could be seeing variants for Pokémon like Kingler (Water/Steel, Water/Fighting) and Golduck (Water/Psychic) or maybe even Dewgong (Water/Fairy). Types could obviously be way different.

Also on the lookout for new forms for Hypno and the Mankey line. We'll see.

Before I read this, you got me thinking of a type for a possible Alolan Houndour/Houndoom. Only one I came up with was Ghost, but I like your idea much more!

And yes, I'd like for him to get another addition as well. He's one of my favorite Pokemon. If not now... Hopefully sometime in the future.

Sadly, Alolan Eevee (and Umbreon) aren't possible as they've shown an Eevee being captured and registered in the Pokedex. They also showed Eevee evolving into a regular Umbreon.

How about a Ghost/Flying Fearow? Regular Fearow is named Onidrill (demon + drill) in Japan. Onid can also mean onidori (demon bird).

This Fearow could have adapted to residing in the graveyard and have become a myth that the nearby town spreads rumors about.

Dark/Flying Fearow could work as well.
