War of the Elements v4 - Endgame - 5/5/2017

Okay, now that I'm at my computer and slightly calming down from the rage... I have a suggestion

First, Leave OC alone. THis game is about building alliance (*cough* and not betraying them, Darth).

Second, I think impose a minimum phase rule... say... 5 phases where the game cannot end. If someone, like Darth, manages to win on turn 2... They silently win, and are asked not to use OC anymore. If players attempt to contact him, act as if he is silenced, or just ignore it.

I'm pretty sure Elementar and myself could have had this figured out by phase 4...

In regards to OC, this idea for v5 hit me earlier today:
The 18 players are divided in 6 groups of 3, randomly chosen. Each has their own Conversation, with no other OC being allowed.

I get afraid that Cheff is working behind my back (at the time he did, hard) so I contact MegaPod12 to start an alliance with him, against Cheff... only to get from him info given to him by Cheff :p
Afraid of the wrong person.

Faking helps against other possble fakers.
What... This was my thought at the end:
Mewtwo: "Your usefulness has ended."

Random may make it unfair.

No. As i said, this game isn't about deception. All 18 players can win at the same time with the right circumstances
And
why
should
that
happen?
Cheff and Darth are offline friends, so he at least has some reason to think Darth would let him win as well. Why should Darth care if you, or anyone else wins when he does regardless?

Why shouldn't it?

I see I'm probably the only one that thought of it as a non-mafia game and a problem solving puzzle.

...It's both (and mafia has a lot of problem-solving elements itself)
It doesn't matter if it's a puzzle, riddle, or whatever, why should anyone care if any other players win or not? I'm afraid to say that in reality, people don't just go out of their way to give things to random others without any reason.
Well, a good deal of people, anyway.

Okay, but that doesn't answer what I am actively trying to figure out here.

Not helping someone win is one thing... You don't have to help someone win, and the example I provided above was just that... an example.

Deliberately providing misinformation in a game of this type just makes absolutely no sense, and I would call it bordering on unsportsmanlike behaviour. That is why I wanted to know Darth's reasoning.

Incorrect. This game is a race; you play to win before anyone else does. Misinforming others may not accelerate your win, but it could slow down the others as they are caught in your lie and make wrong guesses, giving you more time to win before someone else does.

Because when Darth provided that misinformation, Cheff was about to win (due to over half the game handing info to him), and he decided he wanted to win alone. Cheff has a right to be annoyed about that since they're good friends. You or anyone else wouldn't and don't, and that's the point. There are few free things in life.
