I think that since her sisters are busy doing their own thing, Misty is free doing what she wants to do with the gym.
 
Pewter Gym had a makeover as well (although by far not as drastic as Cerulean's....). It makes sense that Gym Leaders would improve their Gym over time and I actually like this makeover. The old Gym always looked like a carnival attraction to me more than anything, so this new Gym makes it look way more professional.

Yeah, he did when he battled her for ownership of Waninoko. If you don't count his Gym Battle against her which never finished he has one win and one loss so really this could go either way.

I kinda hope Misty gives a short tour through the Gym and they pass an aquarium where we see her Pokémon.

But after SM042 I doubt that will happen. We'll probably even get left in the dark about what happened to Azurill. At least we get Psyduck and I'm already super happy about that!

Maybe she planned on going for a swim at Oak's Laboratory and she isn't planing to when she's, you know battling. And Sun and Moon is good with consistency, so I don't know how it's consistency is in the very least laughable.

Question, I haven't watched the episode yet and am wondering if the episode will be interesting to me if I don't feel any nostalgia for Misty, Brock, or Ash's old Pokemon or if I should just skip it?

Yeah, I had both threads open in tabs and posted in this one by accident.

Personally, I think Ash will win versus Misty because Main character and Kiawe will possibly win against Brock because from how it looked in the preview Kiawe seemed to be at a disadvantage and Pokemon loves to have it where one who seems like they will lose wins instead, most of the time because of some new move or evolution but it seems this generation Z-Moves also serves this purpose, well that and Z-Moves are the current gimmick and
 
now they can revisit every region and battle veryone of the past?
who will be next? how do you think, or will it be a Kanto only event because the regions are related?
