The Rhymings I just look at the many patterns found within the games, anime and such. For some reason Gen 6 shared a similar theme to Gen 3 with Ash, the Female Trainer, Gym Leader and younger sibling. Even the starters they have are similar in type, with Ash and the Gym Leader swapping types. Course this could be to correlate with the Gen 3 Remake. Now overdue for a Gen 4 Remake, wouldn't it make sense if they had Ash, the Female Trainer and a Gym Leader to Galar, and yet reflecting the type choice with Gen 4? Such as the Female Trainer having Grookey, and Ash the other two starters.

It obviously couldn't be Ash with two Gym Leaders again, not after Alola with Misty and Brock, or even the Trial Captains.
  1. You're again basing this pattern on something that you don't even know to be true. There's no Gen 8 anime yet-how can you can say that this is going to be the setup for it?
  2. How does switching types for starters correlate with a Gen 3 remake?
  3. Why would Game Freak tell the anime team to hint at an ORAS remake through such an obscure detail? Remakes have never even gotten their own anime.
  4. None of this rhymes. A pattern is not the same thing as a rhyme.

We know officially Gamefreak got their switch dev kit in 2014-15, so that honestly makes sense. They likely would have planned earlier.
This only confuses me more. According to Bulbapedia: "[Detective Pikachu] was initially revealed in an NHK Professional: Shigoto no Ryuugi documentary featuring Tsunekazu Ishihara aired on October 28, 2013. A trademark was later found for 「名探偵ピカチュウ」 Great Detective Pikachu that was filed in Japan on October 11, 2013."
Are we saying that Gamefreak decided to name it Ryme City in order to hint at a game that would release 6 years later on a completely different console while they had just released their first 3D Pokemon games (XY)-- before they even had access to a dev kit for said console? They still had ORAS, SM, USUM, and LGPE to make before we got the actual reveal for SwSh, all of which needed people to conceptualize and work on them. Once again, I'll say that (imo) the name Ryme City-- meaning boundary or edge, according to Cynthia-- was chosen for it's symbolism in the story of the game it was the setting for, and even if they decided to pick the name Ryme city after 2013, the game still released before Sun and Moon did. I'm having a lot of trouble understanding this line of reasoning, if anyone can clarify?

But Rhymes are defined as "Noun: correspondence of sound between words or the endings of words, especially when these are used at the ends of lines of poetry" or "Verb: (of a word, syllable, or line) have or end with a sound that corresponds to another" What you're describing is mirroring or repeating, not rhyming? I really don't understand, I'm sorry ;o;

Didn't you read what I just said with the first post? I said ''Free-Verse''

Unless it's Free Verse.

I think you'e reached the wrong conclusion. If they'd included the Johto critters in LGPE, then they wouldn't be "new" anymore in sequels. Masuda has already said that it just depends on LGPE's success.

How do we know that?

I do recall seeing an article with Gamefreak mentioning that specifically a while back and saw something to level in Resetera as well. Whether that was for Sword / Shield or LGPE is another story however.

We know Mario, Zelda, Xenoblade developers and companies and others got theirs around the same time and earlier. There are a lot of reports on this.

Xenoblade 2 started development in 2014 with their switch dev kit.

Naturally Pokemon would follow similar levels of planning if not more because of the size of the franchise and planning that goes behind that.

When I say it rhymes, it's a feeling to what'll come next. We've already had Johto (Unova), Hoenn (Kalos) and Kanto (Alola) theme, the only thing lacking is Sinnoh. Yes Ash has Grass and Fire Starters, whilst Lana Water for Gen 7, I mean the trainers but with different pokemon pattern to reflect Gen 4 if a remake is a possibility. There have already been few hints to Sinnoh since Gen 7, just as there have been few hints to Hoenn in Gen 5. Perhaps we're now getting close with Pokemon being in a different system.

Gen 5 (Pokemon Crystal)
Gen 6 (Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald)
Gen 7 (Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen)
Gen 8 (If Possible: Pokemon Diamond, Pearl and Platinum)

God I hope we don’t get sinnoh remakes or, for that matter, any remakes ever again

And that's not what the word means.

Unova was used to hint at the already-existing Johto remakes?

Again, why would the arrangements of the starters correlate with upcoming remakes? And why would Game Freak tell the anime writers to include such an obscure hint if it wasn't actually part of the anime?

Why would they not?

Because it puts unnecessary restrictions on how the writers shape the plot, and it shares info about Game Freak's remake plans to a group that has no need to know about them.
Yet wouldn't it make sense for some in the animation crew to hint or honour an old Gen series by mixing in the formula to the new series? Like what Gen 6 already did?

But if Johto Pokemon were the only thing new feature, what would be the point of making such a game?
Did I say that? There are plenty of things they could add, but the Pokemon are always the main focus - especially when it comes to Go players.

The only statements I've found regarding Game Freak are that LGPE took about two years to develop, while SwSh entered development beforehand. That could very well mean late 2016 for LGPE and early 2016 for SwSh. For the record, Game Freak got their 3DS kit in 2010 and started working on XY in June of that year. Three years are plenty for Pokemon's scale, and they have never simultaneously developed two generations before.

I don't know what you're referring to, but there's a pretty noticeable difference between references an old series and basing a significant portion of the plot around an obscure hint.

Game Freak got the Switch kit in 2014/15, so SwSh would've been worked on then.
