I’m still confused as to why people think Opal isn’t actually a Fairy Type Leader? I know Affleck leak said “first Fairy”, but it’s reallllly possible he could’ve just forgotten about Valerie, who was sorta forgettable along with some of the other Kalos Gym Leaders.

Some? On the other hand, Valerie was kinda memorable to me, but that's because there's something... off with her.

Honestly, even as someone who played Y about a month ago I still sometimes forget a fair chunk of those Gym Leaders. Only Korrina has any presence in that game, and that's because she also got tied to the Mega Evolution mechanic so she was able to show up more then once or twice.

Despite loving X a lot and playing like 150+ hours on it (though I lost it at college like 4 years ago) I have also forgotten literally all of the gym leaders.

I guess this is what happens when you make active Gym Leaders in one game, and then in the next one you lock them in the gym again.

I really do hope the Galar Gym Leaders can be found in places other than their gyms. Events with running into them and helping them with stuff would be cool.

Yeah, that was the one I saw on Reddit. The image I saw said it was posted August 8th.

I'm calling BS, then. If this was a real leak, nobody would find the need to photoshop it and give it fake credibility-nobody did that with the Ben Affleck leaks or anything. Plus, why would anyone leak details on the day they were going to be revealed?

Also if Leo's big thing is wanting to be as famous as possible why would he ever battle in a casual match, instead of battling on-camera for the league..

Agreed. I do love Pokemon X and Y for sure, but the Gym Leaders are just not memorable. It takes me a good few minutes to come up with them off the top of my head. No personality. It's only reasonable that Opal was mistaken to be the first Fairy Gym Leader, as Valerie and the other Kalos Gym Leaders are super forgettable.

Good thing it seems that so far the Gym Leaders and other characters feel a lot more memorable this time around. They all have a lot more personality, that's for sure.

Some people still keep jumping on the Leon is the bad guy bandwagon, just as the Opal being Fairy when that could be a deliberate typo, when Leon could be the Cynthia of Galar.

Why do you keep insisting that Opal is actually a Dark-type expert instead of Fairy-type one? It's highly unlikely Affleck post mistook dark type for fairy type, more that he forgot about Valerie's existence.

Also, just the name “Opal.” Opals are lustrous and colorful, which is pretty much exactly what you’d expect for a Fairy-type Trainer, but not really for a Dark-type one.

I personally don’t have any trouble remembering the Kalos Leaders, but that’s because I’m a nerd for this stuff and make it a point to memorize it. Even with that, I’d still agree that the Kalos Leaders are all boring, forgettable bags of cardboard. Frankly, memorizing them has been a waste of some good brain cells.

I personally don’t even think messing up Fairy with Dark could even be considered a typo. At that point it’d just be typing out wrong information.

If Opal is a Fairy Type actress, then I'm hoping for her to be an Archer or of a Robin Hood theme, since her Gym in the Mushroom Forest is geographically where Sherwood Forest is.

@Type Moon I want anything galarian ponyta. Except maybe dark or normal. Because sooooo many of the regionals have been dark it feels like.
