Mafia Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Mafia - Endgame (Looking Stupid Joker!)

Sometimes, when town is destroying itself, it is more common for scum to be hedging, or even defending a town that is going down. I feel FA, Kai, and NP would be most likely for this... wait, they were the three that I would consider if SM flipped bad, so maybe I need to rethink this

Come to think of it, was it a little odd that HD was sure to be up in the middle of the night just before EoD?
I feel like he always tries to do that? I don't think I've ever seen him not show up for EoD if possible.

I think it's been mentioned Caps' vote on SM was not great, so maybe there? I'd have to check back but if I remember right the flip from "SM's good" to "SM's actually scummy" was pretty sudden, and he only voted when (he thought) the votes were tied which means maybe he had motive to protect NP or Kai? Which is still a pretty similar list to "scum SM" but people already said SM's flip wouldn't be the most informative.

Honestly, DW may warrant reconsideration, considering they were static regarding SM at EoD and didn't comment on much else. RJ seems static in hindsight, but maybe I'm just tinfoiling at this point

With other players I admit I'd be more critical, but Soulmaster has a habit of being lynched D1 for this same song and dance that happens over and over on this forum, and in a very small game that concerns me because he is an easy mislynch for that reason. I was surprised when he came back not once, but more than that to try to explain his vote given his behavior as scum in the past, and I can see some genuine frustration when he was saying to leetic that he can't help that he came to a lot of the same conclusions as other players. I would rather have a Soulmaster lynch than a lot of other options, but the more I'd thought about it, the more nervous (paranoid, honestly) I got that he may be getting railroaded into an easy mislynch. And then I kept thinking about neopest and progressively feeling worse about that slot.

Soulmaster is not totally off the hook by any means, though, and given his current status in the game, it would certainly be nice if he'd show up some more and touch on more (and more recent) topics.
This post doesn't look terribly good in hindsight

I mean, maybe with town having a Watcher and all, town roles are really powerful in this game and wolves have no chance

If we don't get hard mechanical evidence on someone in the morning, I'll be severely disappointed

Vote soul

If he had something important to claim he would have

sorry bud
This is the weakest vote on the Soulmaster wagon working off memory, it felt mostly like a response to leetic saying that being able to look at voting patterns is useful rather than any legitimate suspicion on Soulmaster, and I can't say that a vote on Soulmaster when he already had a clear majority would be any more useful than any other vote. That said, late votes are inevitably scrutinized when town dies, and mafia would have to know that, but at that point, it's WIFOM.
Caps is still a good push tomorrow regardless
Don't actually agree on this one, because I think TheCapsFan actually looks pretty good from how he responded on Soulmaster. Partly because I think he had some of the same thoughts I did and it does make me townread him, but I get the sense that he legitimately wasn't confident in the way the Soulmaster lynch was playing out because he has seen this happen before. He flip-flopped on his vote for SM, but that would just draw attention as mafia rather than committing to a defense or bussing. Soulmaster was under scrutiny from super early in this game; I don't know how hard an experienced player like Caps would want to go in defending him and risking outing himself by flopping around on the issue.

I'd seen this scenario play out time and time again with Soulmaster, it's like reliving Groundhog's Day repeatedly in games. Every once in a while Soulmaster is legitimately mafia, but like I'd said from nearly the moment I unvoted him, he usually does not put up much of a defense at all and is more like "fine, go ahead and vote me" when that happens, making it a red flag for me here that he did try to.

Okay, I'm sleepy and this was confusingly worded lol. It wouldn't be bussing as Soulmaster wasn't mafia, but I mean that Caps as mafia would know what was going to be the flip result and I don't see why he'd consciously go back and forth on it knowing that a town flip will end up reflecting poorly, even more so when you second guess it and then go back to it in the end anyway. If TheCapsFan legitimately knew SM was town because he himself is mafia, I think he'd have committed one way or another to defending or incriminating SM, based on his scumplay in other games.

That said, TheCapsFan is one of my top town reads, so that certainly colors my view of things.

You know, I am starting to see the benefits of closed nights. It does give you a chance to detach yourself from the action for a little bit and reenter with a clear mind. Open nights do have the benefit of making it easier to coordinate town roles, though I suppose it also gives wolves the benefit of being able to plan around them.
