  • If the game takes place before Black and White, it would be better for Keldeo to appear on its own, as opposed to having it and the Masqueteer Trio reuniting before the event at the Moor of Icirrus. Also, this choise of placement in the timeline would make Genesect have a logical appearence too -- an N and Team Plasma event related to Genesect, probably as a DLC in a later date. Probably not, however... :p

When it comes to the starter, I wouldn't mind Zorua, but I'd prefer it if there were more choises, probably. Still, there aren't many things you could place Zorua along with. Minccino is quite similar to Pikachu and Marril, which is why I want to see it being used as a starter Pokémon at some point. But I don't particularly like Cinccino, so, I would probably prefer it as being used by another main character, much like Lyra had Marril. There are also the elemental monkeys, which would also work for Triple Battles, but I'm not a big fan... I suppose Zorua fits the bill best.
I can't possibly agree more about the battles. Colosseum and XD did a great job in getting us used to the double battles, establishing them into the franchise in a much better way than RS did. I was annoyed by the fact that they were almost the only battle style in Orre, but retrospectively, I can definitely appreciate them. Now; while I would prefer it if the Wii RPG did have Single battles as well as the other styles, I can definitely agree that a focus on Triple and Rotation battles would be necessary. Competitively speaking, I've only been interested in Single Battles so far, but Rotation ones do seem like something I might possibly get myself into in the future. It was a surpringly good addition, which was unfortunately underused.

As for the Legendaries, I had the same thing on my mind, maybe except for the Kami trio -- which I wouldn't mind nevertheless. It would be a good chance to further establish Regigigas as "the Continent Pokémon", and clarify its relationship to the Regi Trio after the confusion the Platinum event caused. Maybe multiple Regigigas exist -- that would certainly make Platinum's event have sense, albeit retroactively.
That doesn't seem unlikely, and if anything, an early release like August in Japan (which would raise the possibilities of a close international release) is more likely than a late one. I think that an August Japanese release, and a November ~ December international can definitely happen, with Zelda (which generally releases at the same time in all regions) inbetween.
    In other news.
Basically, that means after March of 2012. I like that decision!
And I don't there that there are reasons to question Pokémon Wii RPG's existence anymore.
It's more like a personal hope than taking chances. I want to see the series take some time without a major release for a good time. Obviously, there are other reasons as well -- there are still many things they could get out of Black and White. Keldeo, Meloetta (and why not even Genesect) each featured in spin-off games with a storyline background behind them, like we've discussed before, would be more interesting to see than direct tranfer in movie events and specials. I liked the Ranger 4 rumor for this reason, although I feel that the Ranger series is grossly overused.

Of course, you could say that this could happen in a year's time, and that's true. I'd also prefer it if there was another BW-centric film, although I could generally care less. Maybe a little more time could also help because of the amount of new Pokémon, but well, it's not like I believe we won't get used to them in a year and a half, especially with the Wii game coming inbetween.

To be honest, I wouldn't mind a mid-2012 release either, and I don't find it less plausible. After all, that would mean early 2013 for me, since I would wait for the English release. And indeed, 2 years is more than enough for them to work on the next iteration of the series, and a few more months wouldn't change much.

Maybe I feel like this because now is still too early (as in; less than 2 months have passed since I first played Black). In the end, the amount of time between the two proposed dates is 6 months at maximum, so, you could say they are almost on the same timeframe. I wouldn't mind either, and I could change my mind when I start to see Black and White more retrospectively; like I said, it's a simple matter of preference.

I completely agree that starting in September of 2012, Generation VI will be more than reasonable to happen any time. September could also be the most logical, if Game Freak's non-Pokémon project comes out this year, which it probably will.
Remember when FRLG were released? Talk started about GSC on GBA -- history repeats. Honestly, I find that there's absolutely no chance on seeing RSEmakes on DS. And well; I may be talking for myself, but I've been into the franchise ever since Red and Blue. I was little during the first couple Generations, and was very happy to see my favourite games being remade. Plus; there was no accesibility in Kanto and Johto when Ruby and Sapphire were released. In many levels, FRLG and HGSS were very reasonable games that did good to the franchise.

But what would RSE remakes have to offer? You can play Ruby, Sapphire or Emerald any time you want, then transfer your Pokémon to as far as Black and White. Right now, players have "active" access to any of the five released games, even the first two through the remakes. I don't think there's much reason for any remake at this point of time. If I'd like to see any remake anymore, it would be much later, when there is a lot of technical evolution on the franchise. Our next journey to Hoenn should not be through a remake, but through a sequel.

Compared to this, Graey is much more likely. But in the end, I think that the next Pokémon plans of Game Freak aren't that close. If Graey ends up not coming, then I would say that early 2013 will directly mark Generation VI on 3DS. 2012 might end up being a bear year, since Wii RPG is more likely to happen this year. You might argue that mid 2012 is also possible, of course, but I would prefer the former case; give Game Freak more time, and the series a little more time to rest.

Nevertheless, I doubt that there's another DS game coming. For Iwata to only mention Wii and 3DS titles -- and not be specific either; if I recall correctly his words didn't directly even say "a title for Wii and a title for 3DS" -- he said "titles for Wii and 3DS" -- that must mean the handheld development of the series is moving from DS to 3DS.
I read the announcement this morning - rather excited. To be honest, my first thought was with the Wii game too. I hope it's more than just PBR Part 2 with the Unova 'mon included.
Indeed it had been, and after a bit of search I see that the Wii version of Sonic Unleashed was covered on it; for the first time too, if I recall those screens from back then correctly. Nevertheless, I guess this is comforting, if not even reassuring.
Oops, he's got a point. Now I do hope the "Ranger 4 featuring Keldeo" rumor is true. Because, you know, Pikachu 3DS by Ambrella wouldn't be very exciting, and it's not unlikely either. Keldeo on a different Region is very plausible, and I think that even a Ranger game wouldn't be bad to accomodate this myth. I just hope they will do much more work this time. The constant releases certainly make it seem like the series progress slowly.
I don't know if this seems important but seeing as 2ch got alot of information about B/W (especially about Team Plasma and N) right before it was even announced I thought there was a chance it could be real. Apparently Pokemon Ranger 4 will feature Keldeo and will be released next Spring?
'bout time. I suppose this announcement for announcement must mean something. It will be a major disappointment if it doesn't end up being what we expect. Fingers crossed for coming magazine issues.
If by proper special you mean something like Raikou: The Legend of Thunder, then I don't see why I should disagree! It was nice to see Ethan's anime-universe persona in a leading role. If the Wii RPG's character receive a similar treatment, then I'd also prefer this instead of a movie!

Also, here is the next round of rumors. As you can see, IGN seems pretty confident about their sources, but I still find such a quick release very fishy. Just in case GoNintendo links don't work (and they don't, right now), long story short, IGN claims to be very sure about many things, including the fact that Café (or "Stream", as the claim one of the console's proposed final names is) will be shipping no later than this year's October or November. I have hard time believing that, to be honest.
In terms of new additions I definitely could see Sableye and Mawile getting pre-evolutions and I think most of the new pre/evolutions would be of Generation III, IV, V Pokemon seeing as Generation I and II Pokemon had four Generations to get new additions and I believe they would focus on more recent Generation's Pokemon.
