  • Well given how they're caught changes with every game it makes sense. I learned the hard way that they changed the puzzles around a bit in Emerald from those of R/S. Too bad they appear as the Regigigas statue model when encountered in Platinum instead of getting their own sprites for the overworld.
I takes so long for me to come back, it takes forever for me to catch up in my reading.

Hopefully I'll finish and have something to say soon.

    I do think/agree that 2011=2005
    The similarities are eerie.
    ~~
Well, regardless of what they were initially going to be, they're Event only in Platinum. I'd LOVE to see Regigigas alongside the other 3 in R/S remakes though. Makes me wonder how they'll have it in those games if Regigigas is catchable in the same game though. Where would they even put it anyways?
Well given how my current standards point to: Main series pair, 3rd Version, remakes as of the 3rd Gen's system, with neither except the 1st two versions having to be released in any specific order (We got FR/LG before Emerald after all), I do in fact believe there may be Sinnoh remakes during the 6th Gen. Problem is, since the original games are perfectly playable on a 3DS outside of 3rd Gen connectivity, there may be redundancy issues there. Then again, given how I honestly believe D/P were just a technical mess compared to Pt/HG/SS, remakes could be used to fix most of D/P's issues like slower battle system (I noticed a 1-2 second delay between after selecting a move and using said move, with other delays elsewhere. You may have to pay close attention to notice this, but I noticed it with ease).

Still, I DO believe we'll get some kind of chance to capture some Sinnoh legendaries somewhere in this gen to try and avoid the need for the 4th Gen for most Pokemon. In a way, this applies to everything found in HG/SS as well.

Though I should mention one thing on HG/SS. It had nearly every other Hoenn Legendary in the game somehow, but absolutely NO reference to Regirock, Regice, and Registeel. Currently, the only NON-event way to get them is R/S/E.
Just figured out something my friend. ALL evidence for future remakes comes from a past set of remakes except for before FR/LG. FR/LG had no past evidence because regardless it was needed either way for Old Pokemon like the Kanto starters. FR/LG near the end referenced Silver being Giovanni's son which would give way to HG/SS.

And DO NOT say HG/SS has nothing on the 5th Gen R/S remakes, because let me tell you this, it's pretty much EVERYWHERE once you meet Steven Stone. Steven Stone himself making an appearence, him offering one of the Hoenn Starters, the Wather Trio's appearence with their traditional set of Red, Blue, and Jade Orbs that summon them, as well as the Eon Duo being available identical to how they were in R/S, with the other one getting an event which has the Soul Dew as a bonus hold item.

Even if any of it's not in B/W, it's clearly intended Hoenn is making it's return after a major reference overload like THAT in the 4th Gen.
It does matter that they were in different systems, and even more that Twilight Princess (virtually) launched along with Wii, but yes two months are a good space by the then standards (when both DS and Wii were new and getting much more releases), and would be more than okay with the today's standards as well. If Skyward Sword releases in September, like Other M did last year, Pokémon could happen in any time starting October. That said, the New Year's period of December is better for such releases, I believe. It could happen like Battle Revolution did, in December. But earlier than that isn't out of question.

As for Kyurem; a two-parter, or even better, a special anime feature similar to The Legend of Thunder or Mewtwo Returns would be okay. But why can't Kyurem be on the next film? Since we're waiting for three additional event Pokémon and one of them will surely be on the next movie and, again, another will almost certainly be on the Wii RPG, there isn't much of a reason why Movie 15 can't also feature Kyurem as well as the remaining event Pokémon and even make it make sense.

If I had to choose, I'd take Keldeo and the Masqueteer Trio as a special, and M15 based on the Wii RPG (well, I mean much like M09 was to Ranger) as well as include Genesect. Meaning; Kyurem (with its possible alternate form) "versus" Genesect and, why not, Meloetta. It would be natural for Kyurem to be on the same movie with Meloetta if the movie will indeed be a tribute to the Wii game -- sticking Genesect wouldn't be far-off.

But nevertheless, neither does the anime nor do distributions of event Pokémon affect any of the games. We're just speaking about what will happen to them if GenVI comes at mid 2012 or early 2013. If the game is ready by then, it will release, even if not all of the Legendary Pokémon are covered by the anime. It's more like that their availability and their appearence on the anime will be determined by when the next games will be ready.
Don't get me wrong, maybe I was exaggerating to say Q1 is more likely, but suffice to say that both time periods are possible. I just think that because of Wii's situation, early 2012 isn't out of question for the reason that releases will logically be infrequent but regular. Don't you think they'd leave a little between Zelda and Pokémon?

I guess it could be anywhere from September to December, given that it is a month or two after Skyward Sword. I just keep my head low affected by the lack of updates and hype. :p
Sorry to butt in again but if the Wii game ends up not having much importance and a third B/W version is released do you expect R/S remakes will be made this generation, or Generation VI in 2013 instead?

This years movie (atleast in my opinion) isn't hyping me as much as previous did and I positive this is because it doesn't have any "new" Pokemon to showcase. Don't get me wrong, it will probably be a great movie but most of the hype seems to be based on the fact they are separate movies, its like pick one version of the movie just like the games (or both)!

Edit: I also just saw the comment about N being hinted at in another region, it wouldn't be out of the question to give Kyurem a new forme/extended story in Generation VI. This could potentially be Unova's Johto, and for all we know alot of new Pokemon could of been developed already as evolutions/pre-evolutions to Unova Pokemon during the B/W development.
A Generation VI Pokémon could make its debut, but certainly not in the importance of Lucario or Zoroark (ie. staring). As for Keldeo (or for this matter: more than one new event Pokémon), I guess it isn't completely impossible for it to be on the Wii game, but it isn't given either. To be honest, I'd rather see Meloetta having a "basic" event on the game, given how little background we have on her.

But if you think about it, both of them could become "normal" Legendary Pokémon with events devoted to them. The region the game takes place being Keldeo's current location (hence the game's events happening some time before Black and White), and Meloetta possibly even being a local Legend to that region.
As for the movie thing; a movie obviously raises more hype for many reasons. It's aired in summer, when kids don't have school, and it's being aired for a good ammount of time, instead of basically a television "one-off". Now, I can't think of a reason why Kyurem wouldn't get a movie devoted to it, especially if it gets a new forme. It's not just a matter of promotion, but it's an important event of the Pokémon Universe. Maybe what you suggested earlier about Keldeo at the Moor of Icirrus could work. Keldeo at the special, Meloetta on the Wii game, and then the 15th movie featuring Kyurem and Genesect. I don't know if Ash and co. could reach Moor of Icirrus before the Wii game, of course, but it could happen.

Again, we're speaking too much based on marketting... :p
Indeed, it sounds plain wrong for Kyurem to not star in any game. The idea of a third version on either DS or 3DS still sounds both non-liked and unlikely to me, so, logically speaking, Kyurem would have to be on the Wii game. I just feel that there's too much of a lack of buzz for this, and I'd expect Kyurem to be heavily promoted. I can't imagine what other Pokémon could star on the game, though. Even the older ones are already covered well in Generation IV games. Every last of them too!

I hadn't thought about who else, if not Kyurem, could be featured in the game. You're probably right, Kyurem isn't actually far fetched. But the combination of the previous factors (including Kyurem possibly getting a new forme) leads me to believe that Wii RPG will not happen in Fall but in Winter/Spring, most likely at the first couple months of '12. That is reasonable for a lot of reasons:

This is a dry season for Wii, and that seems unlikely to change. I think Dragon Quest X will be (both fortunately and unfortunately) be moved on Café, which leaves us with Kirby and Rhythm Paradise. I can see the latter being planned for late 2011 (heck, Kirby was originally a GameCube project!), depending on whether Zelda releases closer to September or to December. That leaves nothing for '12, if DQX indeed changes its platform. January or February for Pokémon release would be ideal.
I do agree with you that either Keldeo or Meloetta could be used as the secondary event Pokémon of Movie 15, provided that they're distributed beforehand. But I take it that you don't expect a Generation VI Pokémon to make its debut in that movie? That wouldn't be too surprising in case the games were released after September.
I guess you're right, but they could still get something out of it. Maybe it will be available on an event of some sort. Plus; there still is the Pokémon 3DS game which Iwata preannounced (which I guess will be a spin-off by Ambrella). Maybe Keldeo will become available on that game, just as Jirachi was in Channel in the PAL releases on the game. I'm almost certain that this game will be shown at E3.
In the end, I think that it's a little stupid that we're basing all event Pokémon distributions, game releases and new Generations' debut wholy by marketing. Sure, it's their job, but we may be exaggerating when we come to a point. Genius Sonority and Game Freak will release based on when it's ready, not based on whether or not the anime is done with what would be called "promotion" or anything else. Also translated as milking can't go any further.

Let's not forget something much more basic: Game Freak went on releasing Black and White on DS when that seemed absolutely crazy. 3DS was coming, Pokémon is a system seller, it could very well have been on 3DS. But Game Freak chose to serve a much greater audience with a game that showed that they absolutely want to progress the series after all, and did take DS to its limits while balancing the game to look elegant.

I think that a mid-2012 release could be reasonable; main entries of most games release every 2 years or so, after all. But if it's not ready by then, I certainly wouldn't mind waiting a little more. Nothing says that Wii RPG will be released this year, after all. Most likely it will, but an early 2012 release isn't far fetched either, especially when considering that Café, Wii's successor, will probably get a late 2012 release date and that Skyward Sword is also planned by the same time we're supposing Genius Sonority's game will be released. I think that this could have our attention for a while before moving to the next main iteration of the series, likely by early 2013.
Also, I'm a little divided about Kyurem appearing on the Wii RPG. First of all, I doubt they would give it a new Forme without it being transferable to any game. How would that work? Would its form change in the main series only upon transfering it to the (as we guess, at least) seemingly unrelated to the Unova Legends Generation VI? I kind of doubt that... Plus; wouldn't promotion be warranted before the release of a new RPG? Indeed, Colosseum and XD weren't really promoted through the anime, but the more recent Ranger had a whole movie devoted to its concept, albeit coming a few months after the release of the actual game.

I'm not saying Kyurem couldn't be featured on the game, and to be honest, I certainly hope of seeing it instead of a few completely out-of-nowhere legendaries (see: Regis) being there for the whole reason of being available. But there are obvious reasons for which this would be a bit too-good-to-happen. I think it will go like this:

    * Keldeo revealed by July, at Movie 15 pre-announcement.
    * Meloetta to be revealed by August as a special Pokémon in Wii RPG.
    * Keldeo readily available at September.
    * Wii RPG released by late September or October -- hence does Meloetta.
    * Genesect revealed at 2012 as Keldeo & the Masqueteer Trio's antagonist.
    * Genesect distributed at the 15th Movie.

Which, again, raises question on whether Generation VI could happen in 2012... I think that early 2013 would be less problematic if promotion started by mid 2012. The anime could have a small filler arc after the Unova Saga, for example.
Actually, come to think of it, isn't it a bit surprising that there's basically no new Pokémon to be distributed with the movie? I mean, Victini was distributed last year, so, one would expect that a new one would show up this time. I suppose it will come by September time, just like Victini -- first shown on the Movie 15 trailer after each of the films. So, having distributed Keldeo, there will be no "Pokédex hole", and Meloetta could very well star on the Wii RPG!

I think that the 15th movie will be about Keldeo and the Masqueteer Trio (as opposed to them appearing in a special) versus[?] Genesect. Maybe a Generation VI Pokémon could appear, but I still have my doubts. Also, let's not rule out seeing the Kami Trio on the coming either -- you never know; yes, they don't fit, but hey, there had been a movie about Giratina, Shaymin and... Regigigas! This is the anime we're talking about... :p
I've just noticed that CoroCoro did hint at another movie promotion, set to be announced next month. It's good to know that I wasn't wrong about something rather obvious.

So how are the event Reshiram and Zekrom going to be special? Regardless of whether or not they'll be shiny, they'll definitely need to have exclusive moves (in addition to the signature moves they already have). Perhaps giving them Ice Burn and Freeze Shock would be a good way to create hype for Kyurem's new Forme in the Wii game, which could also be revealed next month. But that would be little more than a marketing tactic, because neither Reshiram nor Zekrom would benefit from those moves.
As for Kyurem, I think there will be part of the Pokémon anime related to it, even if it isn't the mascot of the game -- possibly by the end of the series. Hopefully there will also be an anime special (if not something more!) based on the Wii RPG. Have you noticed how fast-paced the anime is this time? On this pace, the Unova saga will almost certainly finish before the September of 2012. What would they do after that, and supposing that a third version isn't coming? I think that a mini-series based on the Wii game would be the ideal thing.

Speaking of the September of 2012... The 2012 movie will probably feature Keldeo and the Masqueteer Trio -- that sort of makes it hard to believe that Generation VI will come in 2012; they wouldn't go without a "transition" movie before it. Even if we suppose that Meloetta will be covered on the Wii game (without a movie devoted to it, but possibly an anime special, along with elements/characters from the game), and Keldeo on the next movie, that still leaves Genesect. Could it possibly be on the 2012 movie as well? Perhaps.

But for one reason, movies come out on summer, which is just a couple months before the launch of new games, so, would the movie be able to accomodate a sixth Pokémon protagonist in preparation of the next generation? It's not completely impossible (the 13th movie wasn't much less packed, now that I'm thinking about it), but it's certainly one thing to consider.

The again; who knows? It's not outrageous to say that Generation VI could release even in early 2013, instead of the traditional September time.
I liked the Shadow Pokémon concept, which is why I feel that it shouldn't be overused. It was nicely established in Colosseum, and gloriously continued in XD. I think that with the third console RPG outing, there needs to be a different sort of thing. Most of all, this time I want to be able to find wild Pokémon in tall grass, since I'd also prefer it if Genius Sonority decided to use Routes.

Not to mention that the Orre story needs a rest. It would seem cheap if they used the same region as the main setting for a third time. I'm not saying that I wouldn't like to revisit Orre at some point, but that time is yet to come. On the other hand, I'm all for references! I'd especially like something that would establish the Orre games' placement in the timeline for good, like the appearence of an old character; wouldn't a now moral and "freelance" Eldes appearing be very interesting? As for Michael and Wes (and Rui!), they'd also be good to see, but I do hope that they do an especially good job with them, since they the protagonists of the previous games.

Thinking of Meloetta on the other hand... It's as if she's made for Pokémon purification! She fits so much, that's it wouldn't be hard to believe that she was specifically made for a planned game related to the Shadow Pokémon concept. Still, if I had the choise, I'd prefer it if the next game dealed with something different. Anyway, I don't think they will put two event Pokémon on the game. I'd prefer to see Meloetta, given how little we know about it compared to Keldeo and even Genesect.
I guess they chose the Beasts, so that they could it could draw Ho-Oh's attention; maybe the XD001 project could have been in works much before it took shape with Lugia, and Ho-Oh was a candidate. That's a satisfying explanation, albeit a bit excessive. This may be the case with the Winged Mirages and Lugia as well -- since they were assumably captured before Lugia, given that they were "normal" Shadow Pokémon.

As for Tohoku, I do agree that it wouldn't be offending to use it as a setting, but Japan is often very delicate on such matters. In fact, a game was just announced to have been cancelled for this very reason. I'm not sure on what this game is about, so, I don't know if it can be used as an example, but it appears to be a board-game like game. Nevertheless, I guess we'll find out when time comes.
