  • That's cool, your site is shaping up nicely, I gave it a quick look a little while ago.
What I do is kind of complicated and boring to explain but basically I work in an office doing gruntwork :p
Please ask her what her impression of the region was. Was it Johto, Kanto or somewhere else? I know that the starting town differed from New Bark Town.
Contacted them in which language? Japanese people tend not to be very good at English.
So that's why you said it would be tedious. At any rate, I've moved all your posts, so feel free to just keep the ones relevant to the magazine.
I've just deleted it. But why couldn't you delete your posts? They're completely independent of mine.
hmm..well, i don't really know what to say to that.
i just have a thing for trying to avoid conflict and keeping the friends i have :/

I'm sorry he raged at you, i think he saw something wrong with how you were speaking with me, i dont remember. Just please excuse him, he knows he has a tendency to be somewhat protective of me, even if it is at times misplaced.

I just hope we can all leave this behind us and move on v-v'
i think in order for me and my friend to not have anymore arguments about 'you'...it may be best if we didn't talk. sorry.
I've been looking through the archives of Pokepale (also known as Palette), and it turns out that there was an interview with Junichi Masuda and Kenji Matsushima (one of the game designers) in early December 1999 - obviously about Gold and Silver. It's from the January 2000 issue of Dengeki Nintendo 64; the entry says that the interview was insightful and managed to explain the reasons for Gold and Silver having had their release date pushed by so long.

My first guess would be that Pokémon X wasn't mentioned in that interview, because the sources you showed me made a point of saying that Game Freak were being very secretive about the game. That said, we still don't know what gave the English press the idea that new Pokémon would be downloadable.

I say that we should into ways to purchase Dengeki Nintendo 64.
Whoah, nice find! Can you PM a link? I'm in the process of reverse compiling the earliest known version of Pokemon Green and I'd like to know what sort of sprites to look for. I've been through the part of the data pertaining to the user interface, title screen, cutscenes, items, and scenery, and sadly everything there was used in the final game. I'll be moving on to the Pokemon/Trainer section of the data soon, however...
The page also says that there was artwork for an unnamed Pokémon that appeared to be Kasanagi's (Kakuna's) evolved form. It looked nothing like Beedril, but rather like Ledian (only not as obviously based on a beetle).

I actually like to use Infoseek for online translations; they're a lot clearer than Google's more often than not. But it was pretty easy to recognize the names of the Generation I Pokémon being mentioned.
So we have the protoype forms of Weedle, Kakuna, Poliwhirl and Poliwrath. Poliwrath's alter ego had a crown, so it could be described as a cross of Poliwrath and Politoed. Dragonair was supposed to have a different design than it ended up being given; it was originally more similar to Dragonite.

    Any luck finding their artwork?
Very interesting. I had heard about Stadium being a DD game (that information is pretty much everywhere) but it's interesting to hear about the other mentions of Poke64. What is the most common Japanese spelling for Pokemon 64? The Japanese version of "Pocket Monsters 64" brings up pretty much nothing, and all "Pokemon 64" seems to bring is Pokemon Stadium. Is there an official moonspeak version?
its ok, perhaps we shall speak of Carl and burritos another day, as alas, i must depart and clean the house before my maiden of many burdens comes forth and beckons a quarrel.

    at a later time Smeargle:)
    Farewell.
