Ancient & Future Pokémon cards
As part of the news announcements made during the closing ceremony for the 2023 Pokémon World Championships, Pokémon TCG fans have gotten their first look at a selection of Pokémon cards for Paradox Pokémon which made their first appearance in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. These Ancient and Future Pokémon cards will be released internationally as part of the Paradox Rift expansion on November 3rd. Fans also received a teaser for the return of Ace Spec cards in 2024.

While the video does give us full card text for all revealed cards, no information was given in the video about what special rules, if any, may apply to these Ancient and Future Pokémon. Judging from the lack of rule boxes on the cards, it seems likely that these designations will function in a similar way to the Single Strike, Rapid Strike and Fusion Strike style cards from the Sword and Shield era, with certain attacks, Abilities, Trainer cards, and Special Energy cards that will interact specifically with these designations.

A full list of the cards announced today can be found on the Bulbapedia article for the Paradox Rift expansion.
