For a while, I just could not decide on what to do with my story, but now, I have something, and I am making progress.

I mean... honestly whatever feels like the completion of your story naturally should be the ending point right? Personally? 1000 words, although maybe a little on the shorter side, is enough to tell a story! But if you wanted to go more in-depth, and doing so fits the story's vibe in your opinion... I mean I guess I would at least try to do that LOL. No shame in not doing so though!

Agreed. If it’s enough to tell the story, then go for it.

Looking at what I have so far, I'm looking at the neighborhood of about 1200-1500 words, since I have one last scene to write.

I think we can all agree that there is such a thing as putting in too much detail and/or worldbuilding in a story.

Well, even if I don't get my fic done in time, I'm at least excited to judge!! But I do think I want to get something done. Probably.

I still haven't started yet, but I'm going to write it soon, this weekend, ideally. It seems like writing during the day is not an option for me though...

Currently, I am at 865 words--and this should put me in the neighborhood of 1200-1500 words when I'm done.

Making some good progress with my entry. I got a solid idea on how to finish it. I will say this, it will be VERY different from my entry for last year's contest (though I suppose an alien abduction is entirely different from doing something involving a festival celebrating and honoring the dead).

It's done! I may fine tune it a little bit, I may not, but for the most part, my entry is ready! Granted, I'm not expecting to win any prizes, but I'm fairly happy with it.

I am nearing the completion of my entry. Just a bit more and I will be finished for when the time comes to post our entries. I am also not expecting to win. All that matters to me is that people enjoy reading it.
