Did SM/USUM’s graphics pushed the 3DS? I heard it from some people, yet I heard from someone that Monster Hunter for the 3DS made it look like a joke.
It's not necessarily the graphics, but rather the number of animated models that are on the battle screen at the same time.

Lowkey, Pokemon Conquest is actually the best pokemon-spinoff of all time. I want a sequel to that.
Seeing how they are crossing over the Warriors franchise with everything and anything (One Piece, Attack on Titan, Zelda, etc.), I believe if GF asks you could get it. Yes, it's a crossover with Nobunaga's Ambition, but they use the Samurai Warriors designs, so I count it as a Warriors crossover.

Since some people are mentioning Pokémon Conquest, I’ve been thinking, why not a Dept. Heaven X Pokémon.

I can't be certain of anything, but I also have no reason to think things will magically come into existence either. All we can do is wait either way.

Honestly, looking back at sun and moon, June probably is the best bet. When Solgaleo and Lunala were properly revealed, it was in very early June, then E3 had it in a demonstration event soon after

I honestly don't know. A few days ago I may have thought so, and honestly with the lack of news it does seems os. But with this recent focus on Pokemon I am not so sure. Rumble Rush kind of dropped out of nowhere. Like I saw nothing about it at all from the Pokemon Twitter. Then they're like, hey look at this mobile game. Then today Pokemon Go dropped most of the rest of Gen 4 Pokemon, including Leafeon and Glaceon with these special lure modules, pretty much out of nowhere as well (they had been leaked with a datamine, but we didn't have any release date information).

Yes, I know these games are made by other companies and are just mobile games, but idk, it feels kind of weird to have 2 decently sized things that are related to Pokemon drop pretty much randomly in a span of a few days. This doesn't confirm at SwSh news or anything, but with the fact that May usually does give us something new, and GF kind of likes to do bigger reveals on their own terms (the first SwSh trailer in 3 months). I would say we shouldn't completely give up hope till e3. We still have like 2 weeks left in May or something, and we also have early June.

Basically, it's too early to be conclusive.

Perhaps, but now I feel they may just be following how they handled SM. With a small trailer probably on the 5th or around then. then it'd be featured in the upcoming E3 direct.

GO is a little bit more notable since TPCi has closer ties with it than any other spin-off, at least.

But yeah, it does feel like there's starting to be a Poke-build up going on. Like when Pokemon Day was coming up, but with less buzz.

Hm... looks like the fact countdown on the Twitter is still behind from its original endtime. Now it's set to end on the 21st or so instead of the 13th- gonna totally miss E3, then. I wonder if they'll do another batch of catch up facts or just roll with the new date... the latter would imply that either there was no goal for the end date after all or whatever was the goal wound up delayed or moved.

Still interesting to keep tabs on.

I think the problem with spin-offs is just that we need higher quality spin-offs. Something new, refreshing, and exciting.

One spin-off that I would really like, is one where you could choose your profession and develop it throughout the game. You could play as:

  • A Gym Leader who starts from scratch, builds his own Gym , designs his own badge, and recieves challengers.
  • A Pokémon Ranger who travels all around the region helping wild Pokémon in danger, etc.
  • A Pokémon Professor that specialises in a certain field (Pokédex, Abilities, Moves...)
  • A professional photographer, who takes pictures of rare Pokémon.
  • A Pokémon Contest Coordinator
  • A movie star in PokeStar Studios
  • etc.
Basically, any profession other than "a travelling Pokémon trainer who aims to become the Champion", which would remain a main series thing only.
I just wanted to continue my idea from yesterday, regarding a cool new spin-off about Pokémon Professions.

I was thinking, if such a game is a bit too big for a single game project, it could also perfectly work as an entire subseries. It could be called Pokémon Professions (or if you want something more catchy, PokéJobs) and a different game focusing on a different Profession could come out every year or two.

PokéJobs: be a Gym Leader
PokéJobs: be a Ranger
PokéJobs: be a Breeder
PokéJobs: be a Professor
PokéJobs be a Photographer
PokéJobs: be a Coordinator
PokéJobs: be a Movie Star

And so on... Ideally, the games should be developed by Game Freak themselves, but if there is someone else they trust for this spin-off, I wouldn't mind.
