Re: Psychic Duelist Django (Season 3: Hidden Forces) Chapter 20 up!
I told you I'd post the next chapter in a little while while still following forum rules. Anyway, moving on, the conclusion of Django's Duel with Virgil the Shadow Stalker is here. Django, once again, pulls out a new trick in order to turn the tables on this more creative Shadow Stalker. What does this new evolution mean for future battles? We shall see soon enough. For now, read and enjoy.
And that's all for now, folks. Another fierce creature to add to our heroes' arsenal. And yes, the next chapter has a very, very creative title, I know. I'll give you a little spoiler: it's a Tempest-focused one. That's all I'll say for now. Until next time. Same thread, same Duel Time.

Feral Eyes
The Duel between Django and Virgil the Shadow Stalker was getting intense. On Virgil’s field was a powered-up Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon sporting 4800 Attack Points and no Overlay Units, one face-down card, and 3500 Life Points left. On Django’s field was Berfomet (1400/1800) in Defense Mode, no face-down cards, and 2125 Life Points left. It was the start of Django’s turn.
Tempest said in a worried tone, “Virgil’s Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon is now very powerful, having used its power twice. And as long as he has a Heraldic Beast Twin-Headed Eagle to use in his Graveyard, he can keep recharging Dark Rebellion’s Overlay Units. While Django is left with just Berfomet on his field, after the destruction of both Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon and Chimera the Flying Mythical Beast. At least his Damage Diet Trap managed to reduce the blow, giving him more than half of his Life Points left, although I must admit that’s the oddest amount of Life Points I’ve ever seen. But I know Django well, so I know he’ll turn this Duel around.”
Django said mentally, “My options are low right now, but that doesn’t mean I’m about to give up. So here goes.” He then said aloud, “It’s my turn, I Draw!” He looked at his new card, smiling, “Sweet. That’ll help. First, I invoke my Timegazer Magician and Stargazer Magician in the Pendulum Zones! I Pendulum Summon Obnoxious Celtic Guardian and Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon to the field in Defense Mode!”
A portal opened up in between the two pillars of light, just under the swaying Spirit Crest. Two bolts of energy followed, and the Obnoxious Celtic Guardian (1400/1200) and Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon (2500/2000) appeared on the field in a defensive pose.
Virgil huffed, “Why do that? Obnoxious Celtic Guardian can be Normal Summoned or Set without any trouble, being a Level Four monster. So Pendulum Summoning that monster was pointless. What are you up to?”
Django merely said, “You’ll just have to wait and see. For now, I place two cards face-down on the field to end my turn. And just FYI, the Obnoxious Celtic Guardian cannot be destroyed in battle by monsters with over 1900 Attack Points, hence the ‘Obnoxious’ part of his name. So in order to destroy him you’ll need to summon a weaker monster, one with more than 1200 Attack but less than 1900. That is, if you can. Plus you still have to deal with my Odd-Eyes. So let’s see if you’re capable of destroying it for good.”
Virgil growled mentally, “He’s taunting me. He knows that my Dark Rebellion cannot destroy his elf swordsman, and that most Heraldic Beasts are not outstanding attackers. However, I may still find a way around that and get rid of that annoying stall monster.” He then said aloud, “It’s my move, I Draw!” He looked at his new card, smiling, “This’ll help. I’m about to shut your Obnoxious Celtic Guardian down in one swoop. But first, I activate the effect Heraldic Beast Amphisbaena from my hand. I can discard one other Heraldic Beast from my hand to the Graveyard in order to Special Summon it. So I think I’ll discard my Twin-Headed Eagle in order to bring forth this creature!”
He discarded Twin-Headed Eagle from his hand to the Graveyard, which allowed a new monster to emerge. Heraldic Beast Amphisbaena was a double-ended dragon-like creature. It had an armored body with two heads, one on each end of its body, one with red glowing energy while the other had blue glowing energy, large wings equipped with a single claw, and sharp clawed hands that seemed to be ambidextrous enough to be used by either side depending on which head was in control. It was a Level Four monster with stats of 1700/1100.
Virgil laughed, “You said yourself that your Obnoxious Celtic Guardian cannot be destroyed in battle with monsters that have 1900 or more Attack. But my Amphisbaena has only 1700 Attack, making it just strong enough, yet just weak enough, to destroy your stalling monster without a problem. But I’m not done yet. Next I summon another Heraldic Beast Leo in Attack Mode!”
Heraldic Beast Leo (2000/1000) emerged on the field, giving a roar as it did.
“Now all I need to do is use my two Heraldic Beasts to clear away your weaker monsters, then I can wipe out your Odd-Eyes with my Dark Rebellion! Say goodbye, Django Spirit! Heraldic Beast Amphisbaena, attack his Obnoxious Celtic Guardian now!”
The head with the blue energy around its face charged in first, ready to take out the elven swordsman. Django, however, was grinning.
He stated, “You played right into my Trap! Reveal my Mirror Force! When an attack is declared, I can use this Trap to reflect and redirect that attack right back at your monsters! So say goodbye to all your monsters that are in Attack Mode, which is all of them!”
Amphisbaena slammed into a rainbow hued barrier that not only blocked the attack, but then sent powerful shockwaves right back at all of Virgil’s monsters, destroying them in an instant. Virgil roared in frustration while Tempest cheered happily.
She called, “That was awesome, Django! You purposely lured him into attacking, and he swallowed the bait whole. Now his juiced-up Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon is gone, leavin him wide open for an attack!”
Django gave Tempest a smile and a nod before returning his attention back to the Duel.
Virgil, who was still upset, managed to say, “You may have stopped that, but I’m far from done! First off, since my Heraldic Beast Leo was sent to the Graveyard, I can add another Heraldic Beast from my deck to my hand. So I think I’ll add another Twin-Headed Eagle from my deck to my hand.”
His D-Pad ejected a card, which he took, revealed, and added to his hand.
“Now I reveal my Trap: Call of the Haunted, to revive my Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon in Attack Mode! So my Dragon isn’t done yet!”
The Graveyard Portal opened up, allowing Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon (2500/2000) to re-emerge and take its place back on the field.
“Now, Dark Rebellion, attack his Berfomet!”
Dark Rebellion charged in, exposing the energy generators in its wings, teeth and claws bared. It slammed its lower jaw into Berfomet, impaling it, before the Fiend monster vanished from the field.
“Now, I still have another trick up my sleeve, Django. I activate the effect of my second Twin-Headed Eagle in my Graveyard. By banishing it, I can target any other two Heraldic Beasts in my Graveyard and transform them into Overlay Units for an Xyz Monster that has none. So I choose Heraldic Beast Leo and Basilisk, which means I have big plans for you.”
Twin-Headed Eagle vanished from the Graveyard, but this caused the Graveyard Portal to open up, and two orbs of light emerged from it before turning into purple orbs and started to orbit Dark Rebellion.
Tempest groaned, “Déjà Vu all over again. Now Dark Rebellion can use its ability again. Those Twin-Headed Eagles are getting annoying.”
Virgil grinned, “If you don’t like it, then you won’t have to worry, as this Duel is almost over. Now I activate Dark Rebellion’s ability! By using two Overlay Units, I can cut one of your monster’s Attack in half, which will allow my Dark Rebellion to gain that power! So I choose Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon! Do it my great beast!”
Dark Rebellion ate both its Overlay Units, gaining a dark aura, which also appeared around Odd-Eyes. Odd-Eyes’ power dropped by half to 1250 while Dark Rebellion’s increased by the same amount to 3750.
“Now, since I sent my Leo to the Graveyard again, I can add another Heraldic Beast from my deck to my hand. So I think I’ll choose another Heraldic Beast Amphisbaena.”
His D-Pad ejected another card, which he took, revealed, and added to his hand.
“Now I activate Amphisbaena’s ability! By discarding another Heraldic Beast I can Special Summon it! So I discard my final Twin-Headed Eagle in order to summon my second Amphisbaena in Attack Mode!”
He discarded Twin-Headed Eagle in order to summon yet another Heraldic Beast Amphisbaena (1700/1100).
Virgil sneered, “Come next turn, I will use my last Twin-Headed Eagle’s ability in order to juice up my Dark Rebellion once again, and wipe you out for good. So take your final turn, because once you do, I’ll have won, and my Master Lucifer will be very pleased with me.”
Django growled, “Don’t count me out just yet, Virgil! I won’t lose, you’ll see.”
“Hmph, big talk for someone who has no cards in his hand, along with an annoying elf and weakened dragon on the field. You won’t last much longer. But if you want to go out in a blaze of glory, I’d be more than happy to light the fire.”
The inventor said calmly, “I’ll be going out in a blaze of victory, while you’ll be crashing and burning. All it takes is one draw to decide the outcome of a Duel, and I’ll prove it right now.” He touched his deck, thinking, “Soul of the Deck, I need your help.” He said aloud, “I Draw!” He looked at his card before activating it, “I activate the Spell: Graceful Charity. This allows me to draw three cards so long as I discard two.” He drew three cards and looked at them, thinking, “Pot of Avarice, Gamma the Magnet Warrior, and Gagaga Gardna. Pot of Avarice may come in handy. But what monsters should I return to my deck or Extra Deck?”
Just then his Spirit Crest flashed and a vision appeared in his head. It showed the silhouettes of what appeared to be Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon and Chimera the Flying Mythical Beast. They started to overlap, and a shadowy form of a new dragon appeared. He then opened his eyes and gained a grin.
“Okay, Shadow Stalker, I have a powerful plan that’ll wipe you out. So first I discard these two cards as per the effect of Graceful Charity.” He discarded the two monsters in his hand, “But they won’t stay in the Graveyard, as I use Pot of Avarice to recycle five monsters in my Graveyard back into my deck in order to draw two more cards. So I choose every monster in my Graveyard except Chimera. You’ll see why soon enough.”
He shuffled every monster except Chimera back into his deck, touched the top two cards, closed his eyes, and drew two cards. He opened his eyes and looked at them, smiling at what he got.
He stated, “This is it, Virgil. The cards I just drew will vanquish your Dark Rebellion and the rest of your Life Points! So first I activate the Spell: Monster Reborn, to revive Chimera the Flying Mythical Beast in Attack Mode!”
The Graveyard Portal opened up, allowing Chimera the Flying Mythical Beast (2100/1800) to jump out, giving a fierce roar as it did so.
“Now, I summon Swift Gaia the Fierce Knight in Attack Mode! And just so you know, even though it’s a Level Seven monster, I can Normal Summon it without a Tribute since it’s the last card in my hand. I could’ve also Pendulum Summon it, but that doesn’t matter right now. So come forth my great knight!”
A new monster appeared. Swift Gaia the Fierce Knight was an impressive and powerful-looking knight. He was outfitted with strong blue armor with red trim, battle tape wrapped around his lower arms and legs, a muscular stomach, a fierce face hidden under a blue helmet with red spikes, and was wielding two red lances, one in each hand. He was riding a purple horse with a yellow mane and tail, glowing eyes, and outfitted with a similar helmet to its rider, only designed slightly different. He was a Level Seven monster with stats of 2300/2100.
Virgil looked a bit unnerved, “That’s a powerful knight. But even so, my Dark Rebellion is more powerful!”
Django grinned, “Guess again. You seem to be forgetting about my face-down card. I was waiting for you to power up you Dark Rebellion before using it for a massive reversal finish. So I reveal my Trap: Breakthrough Skill! This Trap will negate your monster’s abilities for the duration of the turn, which also means your Dark Rebellion will lose the power boost it got! So that means I’m about to shut you down for good!”
Virgil watched in horror as the Trap fired a beam at Dark Rebellion, causing its already dark body to become darker, its power dropping back to its original 2500.
The Shadow Stalker managed to say, “E-Even so, my Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon is still the strongest monster on the field. You’re just wasting your time!”
Django grinned, “I don’t think so. First off, I switch my Obnoxious Celtic Guardian into Attack Mode. Now for the real fun to begin. It’s time to awaken a new dragon! Do it now, my Spirit Crest!”
The Spirit Crest released a blinding flash of light, which caused Django’s Extra Deck slot to light up. A glowing card was ejected from the Extra Deck slot, which made Django grin.
“Now, I Tribute my Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon and Chimera the Flying Mythical Beast in order to invoke a form of Fusion Summoning known as Contact Fusion! Originally thought to be exclusive the Elemental HERO Neo, and similar to the power of the VWXYZ monsters, this new power will devastate you once and for all! So do it, my two beasts! Fuse together to bring forth a new creature! A dragon with feral eyes and the raging power of a beast!”
Chimera and Odd-Eyes started to overlap and were swallowed up by a spiraling vortex. Soon, a new creature emerged, giving a fierce roar as it did.
“I summon Beast-Eyes Pendulum Dragon in Attack Mode!”
Tempest exclaimed, “A Fusion Summon using a Pendulum Monster!? Once again Django pulls out a brand new power!”
Beast-Eyes Pendulum Dragon was a fierce-looking dragon. Its body structure remained largely the same as Odd-Eyes, but was now sporting thick bone-like armor over a blue, somewhat furry body. Its long tail was studded with spine made from the same armor ending in a silver spike tip. On its back where the two curved spines were on Odd-Eyes was now two straight spikes composed of the bone-like armor and a silver spike, with the one on the left side of its body seemingly broken off, giving it a more ferocious look. Its head was a similar design to Odd-Eyes, with two curved horns near identical in shape and style as before, but made from the same type of bone armor and lined with furry frills, with a matching horn on its armored snout. Its eyes were what made it most frightening, with the left eye being green while the right eye was a yellow one with a beast-like pupil, giving it a look of a rogue, feral creature. It roared as it entered the field, ready to battle. It was a Level Eight monster with stats of 3000/2000.
Virgil looked horrified, “B-Beast-Eyes Pendulum Dragon!? Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon can EVOLVE!? My Dark Rebellion is done for! But nevertheless, you can’t wipe out all my Life Points this turn, so I still have a chance to fight back!”
Django grinned, “Not quite. I’ve already done the math and you’re through. Beast-Eyes Pendulum Dragon, attack Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon now!”
Beast-Eyes gave a fierce roar as it was cloaked in flames. It then released a flaming dragonic attack that charged toward Dark Rebellion. The flaming aura-like dragon slammed into Dark Rebellion, causing it to roar out as it was incinerated. Virgil skidded back as his Life Points dropped by 500 to 3000.
“Now to activate Beast-Eyes’ special ability! Whenever it destroys a monster in battle, you take damage equal to the Original Attack of the Beast monster I used to Fusion Summon this mighty creature. I used Chimera the Flying Mythical Beast, which had 2100 Attack Points. Which means you’re about to take 2100 points of damage!”
Beast-Eyes Pendulum Dragon fired another flaming aura-like attack, this time it was more beast-like, that slammed into Virgil, knocking him off his feet. He landed a short distance away with a thud, his Life Points dropping by 2100 to 900.
Django grinned, “Let the damage continue! Swift Gaia the Fierce Knight, attack Heraldic Beast Amphisbaena with Spiral Spear Strike!”
Swift Gaia charged in on his horse, lances jutting out, before slamming them into Amphisbaena, creating a small whipping whirlwind that hurled the Heraldic Beast monster into the air before it was destroyed. Virgil was struck by some of the wind of the attack, flinching as his Life Points dropped by another 600 to a mere 300.
“It’s over, Shadow Stalker! Obnoxious Celtic Guardian, attack Virgil directly with Silver Blade Slash attack! End this Duel now!”
Virgil could only watch in horror as Obnoxious Celtic Guardian drew his sword and charged in. He slammed it down upon the Shadow Stalker throwing him back even more as his Life Points dropped down to zero. A “Win” screen, showing Django, appeared before the Augmented Reality vanished, taking everything else with it. Tempest cheered and did a victory dance as Django took a calming breath, looking at his new Fusion Monster.
Virgil, who lay on the ground utterly defeated, muttered, “I can’t go back empty-handed. No, I’ll kill you here and now!”
He quickly jumped up, drew out a knife, and charged at Django. Both he and Tempest quickly noticed the charge and prepared to counterattack. However, that wouldn’t be necessary.
A voice boomed, “YOU’VE FAILED ME FOR THE LAST TIME, COCKROACH!”
A portal opened up, allowing a ghostly claw to emerge, striking Virgil in the chest. He cried out in pain before his eyes went blank, dropping the knife and falling to the ground, the claw extracting a glowing sphere. The claw then shattered the sphere, much to Django’s and Tempest’s disgust and horror. Then as the claw retracted, a pair of heterochromatic eyes appeared before them.
Lucifer said in disgust, “Pathetic cockroach. While I applaud your intention, it just proves how useless humans are. Using a knife against a Psykinox is utter stupidity at best. Humans think that they’re so clever, creating weapons such as knives, bombs, and guns, calling it ingenuity. All of that is really a waste of time. Psykinoxes can create far better weapons in their sleep than any human can in their entire life. Just goes to show that Psykinoxes are the strongest race of all for good reasons.”
Django growled, “Lucifer. Can’t you think of a more… pleasant way of inflicting punishment?”
Lucifer chuckled, “Hey, it keeps them in line, doesn’t it? Django, I must admit I’m impressed. Your Dueling abilities seem to evolve day by day. First you created Chaos Xyz Evolution, which I improved, then transformed a Limited Barian’s Force into Numeron Force, then created Shining Xyz Evolution, then created Pendulum Summoning and Pendulum Monsters, and now this. I must admit I’m impressed. Now, you’re probably wondering why I’m praising you? So when I destroy you, even with all your special tricks and techniques, my victory will be that much sweeter! So don’t think this fight is over, Spirit. We will meet soon, and when we do, I will destroy you and everything that is precious to you. So enjoy the game while you can because your days are numbered. Farewell, Spirit scum.”
The portal and eyes vanished, leaving Django and Tempest alone with the downed Shadow Stalker. Although reluctant, Django rummaged around Virgil’s lifeless body until he found a Star Piece. He then picked up Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon off the ground, looked at it, then put it away, placing his newest Star Piece into his current frame.
Tempest said sadly, “I knew that Dusk wouldn’t be the only casualty of this tournament. Lucifer is getting worse by the day. If only there was a way to stop him before he destroys any more lives.”
Django gave a heavy sigh, “I agree, Tempest, but I doubt this is the end of it. Lucifer’s evil has grown to new heights, so we must stop him. But even at our current power, we don’t have enough strength to take him down for good. We’ll just have to keep getting stronger in order to save every life on this planet from his destructive wrath.”
The Wind Mistress then said in a more upbeat tone, “Still, that was awesome. Fusion Summoning using a Pendulum Monster. I think we should call that Pendulum Fusion. What do you think?”
“Pendulum Fusion? It has a nice ring to it. So that’s what we’ll call it. Now we have a new surprise for Cody and the others. We’ll take Kain by surprise as well. I can’t wait to see his face when I use Pendulum Fusion against him. Come on, girl, let’s get going. I hate to just leave Virgil here, but there isn’t anything we can do for him. So let’s get going. I doubt that this is the last of the Shadow Stalkers, so let’s get out of here. I just hope that every Duel in this tournament for me isn’t going to be against a Shadow Stalker. Come on, Tempest, let’s go. We’ve done enough damage for now, and I have a feeling the worst is yet to come.”
As the duo left the area, they were contemplating what had just happened. Little did they know, hidden within his deck holder, Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon started to resonate with Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon, which made the Spirit Crest flicker briefly, but did not catch the attention of Django or Tempest.

Next Chapter: Dino Might
And that's all for now, folks. Another fierce creature to add to our heroes' arsenal. And yes, the next chapter has a very, very creative title, I know. I'll give you a little spoiler: it's a Tempest-focused one. That's all I'll say for now. Until next time. Same thread, same Duel Time.
