Ok, if there already is one of these, then I'm sorry, I didn't see it. I'm tired of all these RMT threads cluttering up this forum, so I made this thread to help clean them up somewhat. If you want someone to rate your team, then just post it here, and someone will. And please ppl, stop making pointless threads just to have someone rate your team.

EDIT: To help organize things here and hopefully get your team helped quickly and easily, "L" has sent me some general rules for this thread:

Guidelines for Asking for Rates

-Don't post here if all you want is people to praise you. That is not the purpose of an advice thread.

-Accept constructive criticisms. We all know that there are overly sensitive peopel out there, but you need to be able to tell the difference between constructive criticsms and insults.

-Don't be stubborn. Coming here and not accepting good help when it's given is the same as coming here to show off. It's spam.

-Please be as specific as possible when giving a rate. Mention only the required, Movests, EVs, Natures, and Traits. Some of these things don't have to be mentioned if it is ingame.

-When given EV spreads, please realise that all spreads given are based on the assumption that you have max IVs in those stats. You will need to re-adjust for your specific needs.

-Post in a readable format, please. If your asking for help, then please atleast help the raters by making your post readable. This means good spelling, and very little abreviations on Pokemon/movesets.

-Use this as the posting format

Pokemon @ [item]
Trait:----
Nature (+stat, -stat)
EVs: ------
-Move 1
-Move 2
-Move 3
-Move 4

[comments]

You don't necessarily have to put (+stat,-stat), or the trait if it has only one. Likewise, you can post the gender either with (F) for female or (M) for amle if the moveset requires it. Yes some movesets, other than the ones running attract do need it.

Guidlines for Raters

-Know what your talking about.

-Don't be a douchebag, meaning give constructive criticisms. There is no need to laugh at them, or most comments like "lol this sucks ass! Your so retarded" I guess you could say a moveset sucks, but don't overdo it.

-Constructive criticisms. What does this mean? Rather than just giving them a moveset, explain what they have done wrong, and why they should use your moveset. You know, they learn from it, and is easier to convince them.

Guidlines for posting competitive teams

-Include all EVs, Natures, and Movesets

-Give a little explanation on what that Pokemon is doing on your team

-If this is for wifi, then please post the envisioned team before you make it, so that you don't waste your time

-Mention any specific clauses that aren't standard for competitive play so your rates can be tailored with these in mind

Guidlines for Ingame Teams

-Specify what it's purpose is. There are many types of ingame teams

-Elite Four teams require very little changing, and if it is an E4 team, then it is likely you don't want to breed. With this in mind, raters can refrain from asking for things such as natures, EVs, and egg moves

-Battle Tower do require these things to succeed, but unlike competitive battles, different rules do apply. First of, the item clause, and the lack of sleep clause. One must also factor in the fact that Battle Tower tends to shift luck onto the computer's side.

-If it is Battle Tower, mention whether it is single, double, or multi. Strategies for each do differ.

-If it's just a randoms pecialised team, then mention it. For example, if you created a team soley for hunting down Cresselia because you don't believe in Master Balls, then please mention that so we can rate your team as such.

Meh, sorry 'bout that. Can I post my original thread here?

Sure, just post what U want ppl to help you with. I'm fine with RMTs, there were just too many threads cluttering space.

Alright, this is my help make my team better psuedo-thread. Copy and pasted, no?

Alright, I have already come up with four pokemon, one of which is ready to go EV-wise and almost move-wise, but not level-wise. I took the Serebii advice to get a Slowbro.

Slowbro
Trait: Oblivious
Surf
Ice Beam
Slack Off (currently Zen Headbutt)
Thunder Wave (breed a Mareep line with thunder wave, no wasting TM!)
EVs: 252 D/212 HP/44 SA (or roughly around that)
Nature: Bold (D+ A-)
Item: Leftovers

Now, here are the pokemon that I've already decided that they should be on my team, but need help with movesets, items, natures, etc.

Porygon Z
Trait: Adaptability
Nasty Plot
Thunder Bolt
Psychic
Hyper Beam
EVs 252 SA/252 Sp/4 HP (could change)
Nature: Modest (SA+ A-) (though I didn't think this through, got a SD+ D- trait)
Item: Choice Specs (what else would be good?)

Garchomp
Trait: Sand Veil
?
?
?
?
EVs 252 A/252 Sp/ 4 HP
Nature: Adamant (A+ SA-)
Item: Life Orb

Dusknoir
Trait: Pressure
?
?
?
?
EVs: Either 252 D/252 SD/ 4 HP OR 252 SD/ 252 HP/4 SA
Nature: Calm (SD+ A-)

So, help me with creating the ultimate team, and also help me get two more pokemon to fill the remaining spots. Thanks in advance!

I already have one in SppF, but meh, I guess I'll put it here.

I need help with movesets, natures and EV spreads. No IVs and Hidden Powers, please.

Swampert @Choice Band?
- Earthquake
- Curse
- Stone Edge?
- ???

Garchomp @Choice Band
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Dragon Claw?
- Fire Fang?

Crobat @Lefties?
- Poison Jab/Sludge Bomb?
- Aerial Ace/Air Slash?
- Steel Wing?
- ???

Snorlax @Leftovers?
- Return/Double-Edge?
- Crunch?
- Rest
- Sleep Talk?

Starmie @Choice Specs?
- Surf
- Psychic/Grass Knot?
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam

Forretress @???
- Spikes/Stealth Rock?
- Earthquake
- Gyro Ball/Explosion?
- Rapid Spin?

If you want to suggest replacements, I'd recommend one of the pokemon listed below. If another, I can't trade. o_o

I'll also need movesets, natures and EV spreads for the ff pokemon (as possible replacements):

- Luxray
- Gardevoir
- Heracross
- Breloom
- Flygon
- Glaceon
- Tyranitar

Thankies to all who'll help.

@ Umby

I'd give your Porygon-Z Wise Glasses and Ice Beam instead of Hyper Beam (note: never use hyper beam-like moves). Give Garchomp swords dance/fire fang/EQ/dragon claw. Sorry, don't know how to use Dusknoir.
@ Unplanned_disaster
Same moveset as I said earlier for chomp. Give Swampert muddy water and a muscle band.
Crobat@cb
cross poison
aerial ace
X-scissor
U-turn

Snorlax is fine, but give it body slam instead of return. Give Starmie psychic. Forretress gets lefties, stealth rock, and explosion.

Slowbro
Trait: Oblivious
Surf
Ice Beam
Slack Off (currently Zen Headbutt)
Thunder Wave (breed a Mareep line with thunder wave, no wasting TM!)
EVs: 252 D/212 HP/44 SA (or roughly around that)
Nature: Bold (D+ A-)
Item: Leftovers

That seems to be a very popular set despite the Calm Mind variant still being a very strong DP moveset with the addition of Slack Off over Rest now. The set isn't awful, but I personally never tested it myself but if it's popular, there's probably a reason for it.

Porygon Z
Trait: Adaptability
Nasty Plot
Thunder Bolt
Psychic
Hyper Beam
EVs 252 SA/252 Sp/4 HP (could change)
Nature: Modest (SA+ A-) (though I didn't think this through, got a SD+ D- trait)
Item: Choice Specs (what else would be good?)

Choice Specs is fine, but not if you're using Nasty Plot. If you are, you'll be locked into Nasty Plot and never get to attack. If you are using Nasty Plot, you would probably use is Leftovers. Anyway,Tri-Attack is much better then Hyperbeam. 100% accuracy and no loss of a turn. Hyperbeam is okay with Choice Specs if you're going Suicidal. Anyway, Dark Pulse is pretty popular on Poryzon Z for dealing with Ghosts and Icebeam is also popular for dealing with Dragons. If you take off Nasty Plot, just give it T-Bolt for Bolteam + Tri-Attack and Dark Pulse. It covers quite a lot. If not, just leave it as Nasty Plot, Tri-Attack, DP and IB.

Garchomp
Trait: Sand Veil
?
?
?
?
EVs 252 A/252 Sp/ 4 HP
Nature: Adamant (A+ SA-)
Item: Life Orb

Holding Choice Scarf is preferred for use as a revenge killer, especially against other Dragons. The typical moveset on a Scarfchomp is EQ, Outrage/Dragon Claw, Crunch/Stone Edge, Fire Fang/Fire Blast. If you don't like being confused after 2-3 turns of locked Outrage, you can take Dragon Claw. Crunch/Stone Edge is filler really and Fire Fang/Fire Blast is for Skarmory, but you can just toss out the fire moves for both Crunch and Stone Edge.

If you don't want to use Choice Scarf, you should try for Jolly and use Swords Dance, EQ, Dragon Claw, and Crunch/Stone Edge/Fire Fang.

If you want Choice Scarf, only invest in EVs for getting 270 or so Speed. After Choice Scarf, your speed will be 405 and you'll basically outrace everything except Ninjask, Deoxys, and speed natured Electrode.

Dusknoir
Trait: Pressure
?
?
?
?
EVs: Either 252 D/252 SD/ 4 HP OR 252 SD/ 252 HP/4 SA
Nature: Calm (SD+ A-)

Dusknoir has really good ATK, so you might not want Calm. Going for Careful seems more popular. Also, the usual sets are for tanks and not really specifically special walls or physcial walls. Will-O-Wisp is pretty popular as is Pain Split and the ice/thunder punches. I myself like to use Subpunching on Dusknoir for counting Blissey.

Swampert @Choice Band?
- Earthquake
- Curse
- Stone Edge?
- ???

Like I said for Umby, stat pumping moves + Choice items = bad idea. If you want to use Curse, use Leftovers. Anyway, Swampert likes Waterfall as it's physical with STAB. Avalanche can be usef for countering Dragons and Grass types. The typical EV spread should be high HP and SPDEF. Curse will help with defense and attack, so don't worry too much about those. Go with Brave or Relaxed as a personality I suppose. Adamant also works if you don't plan on using Icebeam.

Garchomp @Choice Band
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Dragon Claw?
- Fire Fang?

Basically that's the set. You max out Speed and Attack and just try to rampage through.

Crobat @Lefties?
- Poison Jab/Sludge Bomb?
- Aerial Ace/Air Slash?
- Steel Wing?
- ???

Crobat lost a lot this generation. Sludge Bomb becoming special doesn't help. You'll have to use Cross Poison, which is 20 points of power less, but a bonus of hi critical hit. Not really worth it in my opinion. It gained Brave Bird and a physical Pursuit, which aren't bad at all though. U-Turn is nice. Also, if you're willing (although it will be a mostly dead item to hold), you can have Crobat hold a Salac Berry and use Natural Gift. It gives it a physical 80 fighting move, the only possible replacement to Hidden Power Fighting from 3rd Generation. Sadly, Crobat is only good with Choice Band since it's attack isn't particularly high and it really need to KO anything it hits or basically die to any non-resistant attacks due to it's poor defenses. Hypnosis is also a new move Crobat learns. It could probably prove useful thanks to the 10% accuracy boost (now 70% instead of 60%).

Snorlax @Leftovers?
- Return/Double-Edge?
- Crunch?
- Rest
- Sleep Talk?

I like Body Slam + Crunch myself. Go for Adamant or Impish. You'll basically want max DEF since Snorlax is pretty vulnerable there. While Wake-Up Slap isn't particularly popular, it could show up to wreck your plan, so make sure you switch out against almost anything Fighting type. You generally won't last very long.

Starmie @Choice Specs?
- Surf
- Psychic/Grass Knot?
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam

Choice Specs is okay. Grass Knot is mostly for Suicune, Milotic, and Swampert. I personally like holding Leftovers and using Recover. As Starmie with 304HP can come in on a Salamence's Dragon Dance and survive Dragon Claw AFTER the pump and strike back with a OHKO Icebeam (or survive a Gyarados' DD pumped EQ/Stone Edge). It can also survive any hit on the switch in and go first to OHKO if they didn't waste time setting up thanks to it's high speed. Remember you basically need like 266 SPATK to OHKO Salamence, Gyarados, and Garchomp on average.

Forretress @???
- Spikes/Stealth Rock?
- Earthquake
- Gyro Ball/Explosion?
- Rapid Spin?

Definitely go for Gyro Ball and EQ, as Gyro Ball is guaranteed to OHKO a Weavile IIRC. Spikes or Stealth Rock depends on your team and what they're more weak to- Flyers or walkers. Rapid Spin is almost a must if your team has weakness to Stealth Rock, but if you're not worried about it, it might still be worthwhile for Spikes.

- Luxray
- Gardevoir
- Heracross
- Breloom
- Flygon
- Glaceon
- Tyranitar

Luxray isn't really useful. I've not found any use for Glaceon outside of Abomasnow themed teams. Here's the others though.

Gardevoir @ Leftovers
-Will-O-Wisp
-Hypnosis
-Psychic
-Thunderbolt
Nature: Calm

Decent special staller and excellent doubler status Pokemon. If you switch it out correctly, your opponent will switch in a Ghost or something to attack. Use Hypnosis to take them out. Then, when they switch again, mostly likely to a physical attack, use Will-O-Wisp. It will annoy the hell out of them to see two Pokemon basically crippled. Another good strategy is to use Wish over a second status attack, as Will-O-Wisp can backfire because of Flashfire and Guts. Also, Sleep Talk now being regularly available can make Hypnosis a liability sometimes.

Heracros@ Choice Scarf
-Close Combat
-Megahorn
-Stone Edge
-Pursuit
Nature: Adamant

You need max speed and you'll outrace quite a lot. Close Combat and Megahorn are very powerful STAB moves coming off Heracross' strong 383 ATK. Stone Edge is for Flying Pokemon. Pursuit is for anything you think might switch out. Also, if you use Pursuit the turn someone switches out, you will be allowed to change your attack the next turn afterwards despite holding a Choice item. It's quite a nice feature in this game, although, they did nerf Sleep Talk and Choice items. Also, go for Guts instead of Swarm. Swarm is almost useless off the Reversal-Endure/Substitute combo.

Breloom @ Toxic Orb
-Protect
-Mach Punch
-Spore
-Seed Bomb
Nature: Adamant

This set is a bit weird when you just see it. But it's a very strong to put this as your starter. Firstly, you need the ability Poison Heal, otherwise the Toxic Orb will be helping your opponent. If you don't have Poison Heal, you could technically use Leftovers, but it's MUCH weaker then Toxic Orb + Poison Heal. Anyway, as your starter, Breloom can use Protect to scout the first turn, which is usually a space filled for Choice item users or weird Pokemon that counter them (such as Focus Sash + Counter/Mirror Coat users). With Protect, Toxic Orb will poison Breloom, but thanks to Poison Heal, it'll recover twice as much as Leftovers would provide instead! Also, since it is technically poisoned, it cannot be afflicted with other status ailments such as Sleep or Paralysis. Spore is for early Tyranitars (you can't OHKO it with Mach Punch, so don't try until you know it's asleep) and other tankish Pokemon or possibly walls. Mach Punch can OHKO Weaviles, who cannot OHKO you with Ice Shard and will not outrace you without it. Seed Bomb can OHKO any Swampert that might try to start with a early Stealth Rock/Roar combo. You basically need to try and invest EVs to get 320 HP, 208 Speed, and then put the rest into ATK.

Flygon @ Choice Band
-Earthquake
-Dragon Claw
-Stone Edge
-Crunch
Nature: Adamant or Jolly

Sadly Flygon is now the weaker Garchomp. It has lower stats and basically the same, if not smaller, movepool. It does get Levitate though, which is very nice. If you want, you could play it more defensively and hold Leftovers and use Roost. Flygon isn't an actual Flying type, but a levitating Pokemon, so Roost won't cause Flygon to lose ground type immunity.

Tyranitar @ Life Orb/Leftovers
-Rock Polish/Dragon Dance
-Pursuit/Taunt
-Stone Edge/Rock Slide
-Earthquake
Nature: Adamant

This is a sweeping set. There are more defensive movesets if you want to know them, just tell me. Anyway, with 207 Speed (usually for outracing no speed EV Suicune) and one Rock Polish or two Dragon Dances, Tyranitar can outrace everything except the top three. If you're using Dragon Dance, you'll likely need Taunt otherwise you will be [p]hazed out by a Skarmory or something. Pursuit helps against Azelf, which Tyranitar is a very strong counter for. Stone Edge or Rock Slide is typically dependant on whether you like more power or accuracy- hi critcal hits or flinching. Earthquake because it is awesome. If you decide to use Rock Polish, it is better to hold the Life Orb because you'll likely want the boost in ATK. If you're using Dragon Dance, Leftovers might help since you'll need to take an extra attack before sweeping and Dragon Dance already provides you with ATK pumping.

Thank you a bundle. I would just like to ask a nature for Chomp, Crobat and Starmie.

And I'm not really + with Gardevoir being an annoyer rather than a special sweeper. Any special sweeping movesets for Gardy?

EDIT: For Swampert, I already have the final moveset of Waterfall, Earthquake, Stone Edge and Avalanche. I'd start breeding and EV training it first. Just to be sure, max EVs in HP and SP.DEF? Then Adamant or Impish for nature?

Thanks!

Unfortunately, my Porygon Z has these attacks:
Nasty Plot
Thunderbolt (I need a good water counter)
Psychic
Tri-Attack

I'm not really willing to invest more TM's over it, but on the bright side, I can now OHKO Lv 60 Slowbros at Lv 43! HURRAH!

I like the Slack Off Slowbro just because it can stall while inflicting Thunder Wave and Ice Beam for those high attack Dragons (Garchomp, namely). As with the other two who I had no idea what their movesets were, thanks! I might as well stick with your subpunching idea.

Wait, can someone tell me what subpunching exactly means? >_<

Subpunching is when you put up a substitute on the first turn, then on the second turn, use focus punch. The substitute stops any damage coming to the pokemon, so focus punch doesn't get stopped.

Thank you a bundle. I would just like to ask a nature for Chomp, Crobat and Starmie.

CBChomp likes Jolly. Crobat IMHO needs Adamant. And Starmie usually goes with Timid if you're worried about Gengar and Modest if you don't care about it.

And I'm not really + with Gardevoir being an annoyer rather than a special sweeper. Any special sweeping movesets for Gardy?

There are, but I wouldn't really suggest them. Gardevoir isn't as fast or as powerful as others who do it much better, such as Alakazam. Meanwhile, Gardevoir sports a very hefty special defense and decent HP while have lots of team support moves, now including Wish. Using it as a sweeper is just using an offensively inferior Alakazam with less speed, special attack, and moves.

EDIT: For Swampert, I already have the final moveset of Waterfall, Earthquake, Stone Edge and Avalanche. I'd start breeding and EV training it first. Just to be sure, max EVs in HP and SP.DEF? Then Adamant or Impish for nature?

If you're using a Choice Band and ignoring Curse, you'll need to change your EVs. If you were planning Curse, you would have used that to pump your ATK and DEF for tanking, But without it, it's best to just pump ATK to the max. The rest is then divided between HP and DEF. Ignore SPDEF, as you'll die to almost any special grass attack without max HP and SPDEF, so it won't happen anyway. Some say max HP is usually good enough, but I've never tested it myself. I would assume investing in DEF would be better (as one point DEF can usually prevent more then 1 point of damage), but you'll need to test numbers on a damage calculator to really see what a good mix is. Go for Adamant though.

Thanks very much. Maybe I should half the EVs for HP and DEF? Maybe 124?

I'll start breeding later. ;)

Okay, this is just a VERY vague question, hopefully you all could help me out =)

(plus I'd like to see this thread stickied, so bumpity bump bump ^_^)

What would be a good single battle setup with the following Pokemon?

With an emphasis on the D/P Battle Tower.

I'd really like it to be these Pokemon too, if you can work it.

I know this goes against the WHOLE metagame but I love these Pokemon and I'd really like to see a team of them kick the Battle Tower right in its double doors ^_^

Does anyone know where would be the best place to look for movesets that are popular? I'm wanting to add a Tyranitar and a Shuckle to my team, but I have no idea how to set up the natures, moves and EVs for them, lol. Halp!

Not really, the Pokemon you named are definitely usable.

Slowking @ Leftovers
Modest Nature
-Nasty Plot
-Surf
-Ice Beam
-Slack Off

Arcanine @ Life Orb
Jolly Nature
-Flare Blitz
-Extremespeed
-Thunder Fang
-Iron Tail

Ursaring @ Salac Berry
Adamant Nature
-Swords Dance
-Return

Well, I don't know if there are any battle threads in BMGF but I know there are tons at serebii...smogon is good too, I think?

I just see TONS of threads about what people should use at serebii, so yeah.

Oh!!! That's fantastic! Thank you so much ^_^
The bulbagarden people are so helpful! ::bows eternally::

Just to confirm EV spreads...

For Starmie, max SPATK and Speed, with the remaining in...SDEF?

For Crobat, max ATK and max SPD, with the remaining in...uhmm, DEF? And, is Jolly a good nature for Zubat?

If you are using Crobat and Starmie for in-gaming or Battle Tower, that's fine. If you plan on using them for Link Battles, you will need something more specific.

304 HP (or 320 if you prefer) and 206 DEF survives Salamence/Gyarados' EQ after a Dragon Dance and allows Starmie to OHKO with a 266 SPATK Thunderbolt. 352 Speed means you outrace Timid Gengar (not Choice Scarf Gengar though). Using this can help.

Both Jolly and Adamant are okay for a Crobat, but I prefer Adamant. If you use Jolly, aim for 385 Speed, which is just enough to outrace a Weavile, although, Weavile would probably beat you anyway xd. Always dump extra EVs into HP. The same link above helps with that too.

I'm thinking of using Swampert against the first battle with the Tower Tycoon, since it seems to have the best chance of killing whatever he's got as a lead.

Swampert
-Earthquake
-Hydro Pump/Surf/Waterfall
-Ice Beam
-Protect/Rest

I'm wondering what the EV spread and Nature should be. I know it looks weird with it's lack of physical attacks but I was thinking of having a Special water move to kill Rhypherior, unless I am strong enough to OHKO it with a waterfall (suince it's ability is apparantly Lightning Rod).

I hate the BT Tycoon. It's Rhyperior OHKOed my Salamence with Icebeam. WTH?

I think Surf would do better then Waterfall since Rhyperior has more DEF than SPDEF. Don't try Hydro Pump. Battle Tower has a weird tendency to make your moves miss (even 100% accurate ones) while all of theirs never miss. >>;

http://mewn.psupedia.info/Pokemon/BTMovesets.htm

This site helps a lot. It even gives a rough EV spread so you can guesstimate what the foe's stats are.
