Review SM082: Dance Dance in Evolution?

I’m not talking about experience, I would have just liked to see Steenee have some focus that didn’t involve it evolving. Togedamaru may have had as little focus as Steenee but Popplio and Snowy have had way more focus.

I view Tsareena as less of a strong female character and more of an ugly fruit fetish emalgamation drawn by someone on deviantart.

I know you kids are into human shape Pokemon to an absurd degree, despite their hair, horns and leaves, and you likely made a ridiculous squeaking sound as you watched it’s sailor moon style (or some kind of wiabo rubbish) evolution but that doesn’t change the fact that the Pokemon in question hasn’t done anything significant besides evolve.

Why do I get the feeling that your perfectly legitimate argument of Tsareena not having had enough focus to deserve an evolution is getting mixed up by your general dislike towards this Pokémon? I'll have you know, I'm an adult, and I honestly like Tsareena, both design-vice and battle-vice. And, honest to whatever's holy to you, no sexual feelings in there anywhere. In fact, I prefer to keep those subjects as far away from each other as possible.

@ii kanji actually said it well above. Steenee may not have done much, but we've certainly had to wait, and some Pokémon in the anime have evolved with even less buildup. Yay for compromises!

Perhaps it does distract from my argument- and that comment about Tsareena being human shape was more directed at the accusation that I just dislike strong female characters.

I’ll be positive- while I’ve always found Tsareena weird looking (it only looks feminine in the same way a man in drag looks feminine) I don’t dislike as I do not dislike any Pokemon. In fact, getting to see it in the anime will likely help it to grow on me, as with Crustle, Torracat, Braviary, etc.

Regardless of evolutions in the past, I am miffed that Steenee has evolved so soon. I don't think it's done anything too substantial to warrant the evolution, in comparison to the other main cast Pokemon like Rowlet or Popplio. I also feel that we didn't get to enjoy enough time with it as a Steenee (especially because the Steenee and Tsareena species have very different dispositions). And it doesn't help that she evolved in the same manner she did the first time around, i.e. being the only one available to deal with TR.

This all being said though, now I don't think it'd be too Farfetch'd for Snowy to evolve into a Ninetales sometime soon. I thought the writers were trying to maintain the "cutesy" walking Pokemon aesthetic among everyone's partners in Sun & Moon, but clearly that doesn't seem to be the case anymore. So I welcome Ninetales, Vikavolt, Primarina, and the like.

And it actually makes sense that the old lady has one, since it's heavily implied that she's actually a former Dancer.

Indeed. I'm glad she ended up getting a focus episode after so many cameos in the market. All that leaves is the Sensu style now!

The only hope, Ash other Classmate to improve the character. It will be Team Skull leader (Guzma & Plumeria) making the entry of the series. Villain or bad guys never learns at all. I kinda doubt, Guzma or Plumeria might target either both Lana or Sophocles following the after the Ultra Beasts episode of 85. Might finally given us a hint of Lana's Popplio or Sophocles Charjabug evolve somehow.

As for Ash rowlet to improve. My guesses will be the final member of the alola Elite Four, Kahili which she will be the key to ignite the flame of him and his Rowlet, due to her flying type specialist might trigger tge comedy owl to finally evolve into Dartrix. Not to even mention, we haven't see a sky battle in this series after Ash had clear the three grand trial of the island challenge so far. But sooner will be.
