Sword & Shield—Chilling Reign revealed; Calyrex to make its TCG debut

The next expansion in the Pokémon Trading Card Game, Sword & Shield—Chilling Reign has been officially announced by The Pokémon Company International. It will be released on June 18, 2021.

Chilling Reign introduces the Legendary Pokémon Calyrex in both its Ice Rider and Shadow Rider forms as seen in The Crown Tundra expansion of the video games, Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield. They will appear as both Pokémon V and Pokémon VMAX. The expansion will also feature the Galarian forms of the Legendary birds: Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres, as Pokémon V.

Chilling Reign will be made available in booster packs, special collections, and two versions of the Elite Trainer Box featuring either Ice Rider Calyrex or Shadow Rider Calyrex.

The Pokémon TCG: Sword & Shield—Chilling Reign expansion includes the following:
  • Eight Pokémon VMAX
  • 15 Pokémon V and 26 full-art Pokémon V
  • 28 Trainer cards and 13 full-art Supporter cards
  • Three new Special Energy cards
The Sword & Shield—Chilling Reign Build & Battle Box will be made available early starting from June 5, 2021 through your local participating Pokémon TCG retailers. Each box contains four Sword & Shield—Chilling Reign booster packs, a 23-card Evolution pack including one of four alternate art SM Black Star Promos, and a deck-buliding tip sheet.
