badminton

Did you hear? Two South-Korean teams (and one Chinese and one Indonesian team) got disqualified from the woman's doubles for badminton for not trying their best (read: trying to lose so that they would face easier opponents next round).

How can they even prove that?

They play at a professional level. It's pretty easy to see when they're actively trying to lose. I haven't seen the match myself, but my dad did and he claims it literally was one out after another, and that the audience started to boo them after a while.

Ah.

There was also a Korean women's epée fencer who lost her match because she had 1 second left to defend herself, but the timer malfunctioned and stuck at 1 second so the other player had time to score, and they upheld the point even though it was clearly over time.

Yeah :( but the thing is that the timer was controlled manually - someone in there made a mistake with the clock.

Anyways - I just got back from watching the Olympics on TV. Two more golds for South Korea in Judo and Shooting.

Yeah, so I've heard. Maybe I shouldn't be laughing, but I was laughing when I heard that. Honestly it's rather lulzy. XD

Currently watching football. :p

I wish Germany would win one more gold medal so I don't have to see North Korea every time I look at Google's medal count. =/

Yeah, there are still a lot of events left.

As long as the USA beats Communist China it's all good.

It let be another country to beat China because the U.S.A. needs a break on their winning streaks and allow other countries to have their chance.

BTW, my 100th blog is up. shameless advertising

The newest Mars rover is going to land in 4 days. I would post an article about it in News of the World, but posting science articles there is way too depressing.

I've lost interest in those forums, for the most part. In the first, there's not much actual room for debate on opinions if you ask me, at least on controversial issues, and I feel the other is more American-centered then what it used to be. It has always been pretty stale fronts between people, but I just can't be bothered to start discussing American election politics.
