Touch keyboard behaving oddly on a Surface RT

I've noticed that the touch keyboard on my Surface RT (and probably any touch-enabled Windows 8/RT device) keeps dismissing itself when I attempt to type in the post editor while in Modern UI IE10, making posting impossible in the Modern UI IE10.

(This does not apply to desktop IE10, as the keyboard there is dismissed by the user manually)

Any ideas? (I can't reproduce this bug elsewhere, so I suspect something is conflicting between the browser and the text editor.)

It's an IE10 thing. Normally, our forums would make IE10 function in IE9 mode, but if you're forcing it to the IE10 mode through that Surface Modern UI thing, there's nothing we can do.

Hmm... this certainly is interesting, as I've noticed that Modern UI IE10 does respect document compatibility. (IE7/8/9 pages behave as them.)
