If they couldn't use the non-companion Kanto GLs for the Battle Frontier (3 episodes in Saffron City and no Sabrina appearance? Really?), what are the odds of them appearing in a saga with even looser, shallower writing?

If there's going to be anything, it'll probably be two trainers visiting Alola from Kanto, a boy and a girl, with a Pikachu and Eevee respectively (and I say that because that's how most of the adverts have been showing them as). They stay for a few episodes, show off their capabilities and then that'd be pretty much it.

They really don’t care for people realising its 'pandering' anymore. That’s why LGPE with no non-Kanto Pokemon at all is a thing in the first place.

The Let's Go games are done because Generation I is the easiest generation to recognize and accept for the new fans coming over from playing Pokémon GO. It's not meant to be pandering.
