When do you think Seviper and Wobbuffet will leave?

I never liked Wobbuffet, ever, I always hoped it wouldn't stick around but the producers seem to have some wierd fetich or bizzare attachment to that annoying ugly blue punchingbag. I sure hope it goes at some point.
FYI Sonansu actually has a meaning in the Japanese version.

I laugh in the face of all the Sonansu haters! >:D Because you LOSE! Sonansu will annoy you till you die!!!! Muahahahaha...

I don't think it would have to be another snake Pokémon replacing Habunake, though. Any other Gen 5 Pokémon could replace it.

As for Sonansu, he's staying because like Nyasu, he's pretty much a mascot. I just wish they would make him do more stuff. But hey, even Manene has practically disappeared. :/

Mime Jr. was really just a replacement for Chimecho, which also hardly did anything.

Neither Chimecho or Mime Jr. were ever used much beyond a few Contests and minor fillers.

Jessie without a snake?
She always had a poison snake (that is also usually showcased as her main Poké) and I really doubt they'll change this after more than 10 years
Jessie has to have a snake - or it won't be Jessie XD
It also seems like from AG and on Jessie also always have a bug type

And Jessie isn't the only one, a lot of the characters have some "rules" of what their team includes:
Ash: the grass starter, the early bird, a fire type, a water type
May/Dawn: not as specific but they both got mostly cute little Poké
Misty: of course she has mostly water types...
Brock (and Tracey if you can even count it, he only had 3 XD ) seems totally random
James: a grass type that hurts him, a cute little psychic type that he almost never let battle

I'm kinda confused on these Sonansu complaints. You guys say it doesn't do much anymore... but it barely did anything in the first place!

Also keep in mind that Dogasu said it was really popular in Japan. That's why it's still around.

wobbuffet probably won't leave.

as for seviper... well... idk. it could go either way, this time. why? jessie's become a coordinator. therefore, having more than two/three pokémon would help. seviper doesn't need to get replaced. jessie could just capture a new pokémon, instead of releasing it.

her team as of right now:

- wobbuffet
- seviper
...
- LOL yanmega (i completely forgot about it lmfao)

her potential team when the fifth generation arrives:

- wobbuffet
- seviper
- yanmega
- fifth generation pokémon

although she's released her pokémon for years and years, she doesn't need to release her snake to capture a new snake anymore. i think it'd be great if the writers broke this pattern. she's competing in contests, so having a lot of pokémon is great.

will they break the pattern? i doubt it.

Seviper will probably leave by Gen V. It is unlikely Wobbuffet will ever leave.

Pikachu, Meowth, and Wobbuffet are among the pokemon that hardly do anything in the series anymore but still exist because they're mascots. Seviper will be laid off as soon as they find another snake to replace it. Which may very well be in Gen V.

You know what's weird? All of TR's "first gen" Pokemon are gone, such as Arbok/Weezing/Lickitung/Victreebel.

Now, its getting to the point where all of TR's AG Pokemon are gone, we've already seen Cacnea/Dustox/Chimecho leave.

Seviper and Mime Jr. are the only two left from the AG era. It kinda gets sad now that the "replacements" are replaced with "new replacements."

But...so goes the anime in terms of advertising.

I can see Wobbuffet either:

Getting an evolution in gen 5; Continuing on until Jessie trades back for her Lickitongue in the rumoured Johto arc.

Plus exactly how sick is Chimecho that it's been unable to travel for so long? Maybe it died and noone wants to tell James because he's too fragile to take the news.

Wobbuffet is most likely not going anywhere because it's pretty popular in Japan. It's almost like the third mascot character of the anime. Wobbuffet leaving is just as likely as Pikachu or Meowth leaving. It's probably never going to happen.

Seviper might go, but only if there is a Gen V poison type snake to replace it.

Just like Ash and friends, Team Rocket's roster also follow patterns. Team Rocket gets 5 Pokémon, plus Meowth. 3 for Jessie, 2 for James. They all fill certain roles.

the only way i can accept wobbuffet leaving is if Jesse gets her lickitung back, and it evolves into a Lickilicky

So what are you saying? that Seviper and Wobbuffet need to leave now? or in the next generation?

Wobuffet leaving? No, I don't see it happening. Seviper? Maybe... but doubtful.

Actually, I'm surprised that Cacnea left, though more surprising is the fact that it's still being mentioned by people. (IE writers still remember it exists and is in Gardenia's custody.)
