I find it bad for their self esteem. Such as choosing the "best" nature. You're shooing away certain Pokemon because of their personalities, it seems like you're saying they aren't good enough.

Plus, so much training..I don't want to be like Paul.

I breed for IV and nature. I'm currently breeding Duskull with 31 IV in HP, Attack, Defense, and Special Defense. I release all crappy one and save the best one.

but I'm still aiming for;
31/31/31/x/31/x because I'm a breeder.

As for EV training, it only takes me about 2 hours so no problem with that.

I do both EV training and IV breeding because I enter VGC and I'm a WiFi battler.

If you got good parents, it's easier to get Pokemon with perfect IV at least in two stats.

and how does EV training take 2 hours I take like 40 minutes on 1 pokemon tops, 30 mins if it's just SpA and Spe EV'ing

EV training takes me only 15-20 min per Pokemon. I use 20 vitamins ( 10 for each stat I want to max out, which is 10 * 10= 100 EVs for each of the two stats). But I want another 152 effort points to maximize each stat. I have Pokerus and the specific power item on my Pokemon and I battle 15 wild Pokemon that give EVs for the stat I want to max. (15 * 10 = 150, 100 + 150= 250 EVs, so I need another 2 EVs). Then I take the Power Item back and battle another one Pokemon. I give another Power item to my Pokemon and do the same. So I max out 2 stats (252 + 252= 504 and I can put the 6 remaining EVs on another stat to raise it a little). I battle three different Pokemon and that's it.

I don't care much for good IV (expecr when I soft-reseted for good IV Shaymin) and not usually EV train, expect nowadays I have gone into EV training.

How does that work? You breed those Pokemon, and then you go catch a Pokemon that matches them?

It's much less training than the normal training method, it just focus on different aspects.
One adds Effort Points while the other gains levels.

I don’t EV or IV. When I’m playing Pokémon, I want to have fun and enjoy it just like any other video game and to me (at least) doing EV or IV takes the “fun” out of the game.

i don't think OP quite grasps the concept...unless she's referring to us being cruel to the wild pokemon.

I EV and Breed for nature, but rarely IV, because it takes too long.

I suppose i was a little to "stop having fun guys" when i made the toast analogy, and i apologize for that.
although you can can assume that it makes you cruel for treating your pokemon that way, really, its not.
you level up your pokemon to level 100 against anything.
My fully Ev'd shuckle is level 35.
You can just grab any pokemon.
couldnt i make the argument that its cruel if you are not using the pokemon to its best potential?
thats just going off of the theory you put forth.

As for me, yes, I EV train. I use vitamins + Pokerus + the power items, for quick EV training. But I only EV train the Pokemon which I want on my main teams (for competitive battling).

Also, I don't IV breed. Cause breeding the normal way takes long enough, and IV breeding takes even longer than that. I'm way too impatient for IV breeding. =P

The most I would do is breed for the right nature. XD

If I want a Pokemon with really good IVs, I'll just request someone to IV breed one for me. XD

On my Pokemon Ruby I have a Wall Breloom and a Sweeper-ish Beautifly. The EV training was accidental too, I had no clue until I heard of EV training and looked at their stats ._. But they would be horrible in competitive battling.
