Hello Everynyan! Welcome to the thirty-sixth instalment in the Video Games Forum's new weekly series of polls!

Centered around the Pokemon series of video games, these polls will be based on the various different aspects of the popular video game franchise. Every Monday, a Video Games staff member will post a new poll that'll remained stickied up on top of the forum. Suggestions for polls and questions can be sent to Joshawott or Zeb and they could possibly used for new polls (credit will be given, of course).

With that out of the way, here is the poll: Do you like the changes to the EXP system in Black and White?. Black and White brought about a new change to the EXP system, in the way of distributing more EXP to lower-levelled pokemon when they defeat a higher-levelled pokemon, and higher-levelled pokemon receiving less EXP for defeating a lower-levelled pokemon. This essentially meant that the EXP given is not set, and is different depending on your pokemon's level. So, what did you think of it? A change for the best or for the worse?

Yes, it makes training easier. But it also makes getting a Lv.100 Pokemon harder. But the Pros outweighs the Cons.

Yes. It makes it easier to train for majority of players,so it's a better system than the old one.

Yes. It was far too easy for players to use only one Pokemon (usually their starter) and destroy everything in the game. The new EXP system now encourages them to use a more varied team and get more out of the game. It's also so much fun to faint a Pokemon at a much higher level than yours and be rewarded with a ton of EXP.

Hell. No.

It's fine for the story, I suppose, but I like to get my Pokemon to level 100, and the new system gets really annoying when I'm trying to do that..

Yes! I much prefer it to the old system. I just wish there were better in game battles to grind exp for the higher levels.

I hate that I can't lvl a Pokemon to 100 as fast as I used to, but it's great to get a Pokemon to a substantial level so it can learn good moves :D

Yes, because it DOES, in fact, take less time to get a Pokemon to level 100. Level scaling does not impede this in any way. As long as you're battling level 50+ Pokemon (preferrably Audino) with a Lucky Egg, it shouldn't take more than 3-4 weeks to get a Pokemon to level 100. Maybe 2 weeks if you're up for playing 6+ hours a day.

Yes. It provides better leveling balance.

And, grinding is still easy. Even easier, IMO, because you acquire a Lucky Egg in the story.

For me, training to Level 100 was easier... I have more (legit) Level 100s on Black than the rest of my games combined, without considering events. And i do like the system.

I didn't like it. Throughout the story I felt forced to train against Audino to get anywhere when grinding because if I was 2 or 3 levels apart from the wild Pokémon I found it to slow (definitely before the Lucky Egg; why should I feel the need to use that item anyway?).

Grinding against lvl 50 audino to get to lvl 100 is a bad idea. Not only does a lvl 50ish audino not give enough exp points, but you have to actually waste time searching for audino from shaking grass in that kyurem place, whatever it was called. You get more exp points (and faster as well)by repeatedly battling the e4 rather than audino grinding after lvl 70 or so. And grinding against e4 just became harder due to the new system, thus it sucks from my point of view.

Yes because it makes training Pokémon at low levels easier and Pokémon at high levels more challenging. When playing the games after entering the Hall of Fame the main objective I try to do is to complete the National Pokédex and I think the new EXP system is very good for leveling up Pokémon to evolve therefore obtaining most of the Pokémon in the National Pokédex.

I've never managed to raise a Pokemon to level 100. Around 65 is where I start to lose the will to live. This system makes it even harder.

I do like the levelling up process of course, when my Pokemon are at a lower level, but I always strive to get my party to perfect Lvl.100 Pokemon. In that respect to be honest I don't really like the system and would prefer a system, where your Pokemon gain more EXP the more they get stronger instead of the opposite, but that's just me.

I think another reason why I don't like it is because it wasn't that difficult to level up low-level Pokémon to begin with. I know a lot of people have used it as a reason for why they like it but I personally thought it was easy enough with a Exp. Share.

I think it's a change for the good. It's especially useful considering how late a lot of the Gen V pokemon evolve.
