I... cannot even begin to figure out how to pronounce those names.

Xerneus is pronounced Zer-nee-us, and Yveltal is pronounced Ee-vel-tal.

I just hope we get some pure Flying types. Tornadus wasn't really enough, since it was legendary and exclusive to one game (at least for non-3DS owners, thanks to the Dream Radar).

I am so excited for the new game! I am really torn between the three starters though. I kind of love Chespin since its sort of the underdog but Froakie has a really cool design and of course Fennekin is the pretty one I heard there will be 2 new eevee evolutions but it could just be a rumour. I wrote about all the announcements in my blog Thoughts of a Bad Girl Gamer . I think they have done too many legendary birds so the stag is my favourite. Its nice to have 3 interesting starters. I've found in the last few games I've clearly leaned towards one but I'm really undecided this time!

I could see a Japanese macaque filling an Ice/Fire typing. Although they're native to Japan and not Europe, who knows.

Does anyone know who the general most hated starter is at the moment. I think it's Froakie (though I love it and a few other people do here too), even though my least favourite one is Chespin.

Personally I can't see why so many people dislike it. I'm a fifteen year old boy, but I still find Froakie really cute!

I want a Pokémon based around a Hagfish.

If the current assumptions about a snake being the third mascot, I think it could be a blend of a Snake and Hagfish, but then again, maybe I'm the only one here who thinks that sounds cool.

I'm just here to say Chespin. Chespin is the greatest starter ever. IT. IS. SO. CUTE. I love all the starters though!
I really hope the player characters, when they get art, will be more well-built or thicker. It feels kind of weird when after years and years we're stuck with one body type for pretty much everyone.

Also, genetics. The DNA symbol, X and Y, the legendary designs...is genetics the theme here? Or is it a metaphor for something similar? I am a huge science geek so I think this is really cool. Maybe the professor studies the roots of Pokémon.

I have to say chespin is amazing. I also really like the others starters, but chespin is the best. Anyways I'm pretty sure chespin is a hedgehog. The english and spanish names (which are both chespin) Seem to be part chestnut and part pin, but the french and german names tell more. The french name is Marisson. The french word for chestnut is marron and the french word for hedgehog is hérisson. Marron, hérisson, Marisson. The german name is Igamaro. The german word for hedgehog is igel and the german word for chesnut is marone. Igel, marone, Igamaro. So it seems chespin is definitely a hedgehog mixed with a chestnut.

Well, we are getting a setting in Paris, and Les Mis is one of the most famous and historical works of French literature. GF draws inspiration from all over.

Once we get more Western fantasy-based pokemon, then you have your permission to base something on a book-turned-play-turned-film.

You're more likely to get an outright Napoleon pokemon, although I would prefer a sun-based pokemon with a Louis XIV motif.

Who says Froakie is hated? Liking another starter more =/= hating Froakie.

I'm interested what the "first normal" pokemon of this version would be aka the rattata or bidoof of the region.

As much as I am looking forward to this generation, I'm going to go in completely blind. I want everything to be a surprise, so I'm not going to be tempted by reveals and new information. But I so, can't wait for new mons
