Pokemon Breeding, Hatching and Daycare Changes?

Can they at least make it so that if you have Imposter Ditto and a DW♂ Pokemon that you have a 60% chance of getting the DW abilities when bred together? Even 40% would be nice.

Like, its not as if its particularly easy to get Imposter Ditto considering that its a rare encounter, and even then Hidden Grottos only have a 5% chance to respawn every 250 or so steps.

Technically, we don't know if hidden grottoes will be back for XY, so you'd have to use poketransfer as well.

While I'm quite happy with most of the advancements already in play with breeding, I do have a few things I have in mind.

1) Probably just a nit-picky thing, but I would like to choose what kind of Poke Ball a hatched Pokemon would be in, not just have a standard Poke Ball "magically" appear. I mean, we got to choose when doing the Zorua event, so why not here as well? It makes more sense (at least to me) to use a Ball you have on hand rather than a standard one suddenly materializing out of thin air. It just seems odd to me that we cannot decide what Ball to put the newly hatched Pokemon in (and it probably ties into my dislike for the standard model to begin with... I just find it so boring, and it's plastered everywhere in the Poke-universe, especially the anime).

2) More "original" designs for the eggs. Not just a standard white egg with green spots, but maybe spice it up more. Like give one with confetti-like spots, or stripes, or even one like Togepi's anime egg design. Sure, they could repeat the patterns, I'd be fine with that, but the standard "white with green spots" seems so overused and unoriginal. Maybe, just maybe give the eggs a little design that would help "reveal" what Pokemon is inside (not as extreme as the anime, but maybe make one type brown for brown-colored Pokemon, or give it a flame pattern for a Fire-type, etc...). It would just more interesting than the "standard" egg, and make hatching them more fun.

3) More Mystery Eggs: Maybe they contain a Pokemon in the region that you cannot catch in the wild. Riolu and Happiny were good starts, but maybe a younger form (not baby per say, but they can be included) of a much rarer Pokemon that exists late in the game, giving you a possible early chance to have a certain rarer Pokemon sooner.

4) Male-only Pokemon breeding with "possible" female-counterparts to gain a chance (50/50 works well) of getting their eggs (like with Nidoran). This could also mean that they can get Egg Moves, too.

5) Probably mentioned already, but breeding a Pokemon with a Hidden Ability (regardless of gender) with a Ditto (any, though say an Impostor one would increase the chances) will give a chance of producing that species with the Hidden Ability. That would be a huge help, especially since most event Pokemon with hidden abilities tend to end up male, so it would be a cool opportunity to get that species with a Hidden Ability bred, regardless of gender.

That about sums up my ideas at the time. Maybe more will come later on.

Yeah,

Still supporting my idea first and foremost.

Saves time, doesn't require Internet (or someone else to trade you HA pokemon), and it's overall easier to accomplish.

I'm talking about the Hidden Grottos in BW2. Either way, it doesn't change the fact that Imposter Ditto is difficult to get.

Yeah, I know, that's why I said you'd have to use Poke transfer, which would even further complicate the process of getting an imposter ditto into your game.

I'd love to be able to choose the Ball my brand new hatchling would occupy. I don't want to put a brand new level 1 shiny in a Poke Ball. I'd really love to put the little guy in a Luxury Ball. However, we don't get that option and I'd really like that to change.

And I would love to be able to breed a certain genderless Pokemon with a Ditto in order to get its Hidden Ability. How about a new Everstone mechanic for that? Maybe have the Dream Worlder in question hold an Everstone and not only pass its Nature but have a 25% chance of passing its Hidden Ability? I could have some real fun with that. If GF could into that in Gen VI, I'd be a happy fangirl.

Although I think you should be able to choose the ball you use i think they should still give you one when the pokemon hatches, like when you collect dream world pokemon, because what happens if it hatches while you have no balls, or when your only ball is one your saving like a master ball.

That's interesting, like Egg Roulette. You could get something cool, but you don't know what it is!

I was actually thinking you would be able to see what else is in the daycare and choose to deposit a pokemon the same egg group as what you wan't to breed, I just left out some of the details cause I was posting from a phone.

But that would kind of defeat the purpose of dumping a single pokemon in there to gain a few levels.

If accidental eggs were optional or just really rare on the other hand...

ETA: Also yes, bring back mystery eggs but for all pokemon instead of just the babies, Togepi, and Larvesta.

I don't see why it would be a problem, the pokemon would still be able to level up regardless of whether it breeds and if you don't want the egg just let the daycare man keep it.

I kind of would like it if the Daycare did not have an elderly couple this time around, but instead a younger one, just to change things up. Not teenagers, but perhaps a couple in their 30s-40s or something?

Also, I wish they would stop treating the Eggs as "this is so rare, we have no idea how it happened". The fact that no one has ever seen a Pokemon lay an Egg just holds no water anymore.

Sure, they don't have to explain how Pokemon make Eggs or anything, but why must "your Pokemon laid an Egg" be hidden? Or I guess they could still say something like "We found an Egg", but without the surprised tone. I just want Eggs to be treated as something that is common, that is all really.

Another idea I had to do with breeding is after you breed a certain number of eggs the daycare people could recognize you as a pokemon breeder, it would be shown on your trainer card and they would give you a discount when you use the daycare. Also if my idea about other pokemon in the daycare happened then once you were recognised as a breeder the daycare could call you whenever a rare mon was there(similar to the calls you get for swarms in some other games).

I want an easier way to guarantee more than a single specific IV is passed down (though I do love the Power items). I have no idea how to implement it, but it'd be a lot easier to breed competitive Pokemon, rather than resorting to RNG abuse in earlier games and then Poke Transporting them.

Ditto had better be available in XY without transferring...

So help me God, they better not put the Daycare post game again.

Also, they should make it so any Pokemon with a Hidden ability (regardless of gender) can breed down Hidden abilities with an Imposter Ditto.

THIS. THIS AND MORE THIS.

That egg group thing is a very good idea actually, they should have that.

Sure, you could just leave the egg, but when you're in a hurry and you only want to check the status of your single pokemon really quick then it sounds like that could get annoying after awhile. Every other time you check you'll just keep getting "OH! You're pokemon grown three levels...also we found an egg!" On the other hand, like I said before, if it's a rare occurrence or happens under special circumstances than I'm all for this...but when I'm trying to level up my level 3 Hoppip...not so much.

It could work if there was a special random encounter room where you could put a single pokemon and there would be a chance of an egg. If you put a male in, the egg would be a mystery egg based on the random NPC female, if you put a female in, the egg would be her species (Or in the case of Nidos and the other split pokemon either gender of the female's species). Or if not that how about when the two pokemon you put in don't like each other there's a rare chance that one of them could breed with an NPC's pokemon while in there.

i like the idea of pokemon breeding with other pokemons that are also in the day care, and the man telling you when there is a rare pokemon there for yours to breed with, or that they have a valuable egg move for a certain family, etc.
choosing the pokeball could be cool, but not that relevant.
making it easier to get hidden abilities from males would be great. pokemon bred from non DW parents should have a little chance of having a hidden ability anyway, like a mutation or something.
and finally one of the things i'd like the most in the game: cross breeding, for either discovering new pokemons or having existing ones with different alterations such as base stats, types, looks or whatever

Inb4 Day Care is available post-game.

I'd like an incubator where they hatch the eggs for you. Then they can call you when you're away and you can nickname them from a distance.

I just want them to shorten the dialogue after you received your first egg. Yeah, the first time can be all the "mysterious" stuff, but after that I'd like to see "We found your Pokemon holding another egg! I suppose you want it, yes?" Something short and sweet when you have to do constant breeding.

I'd love breed-able colour and marking variations, but that's not going to happen...

I wouldn't mind getting steps for eggs using the pedometer in the 3DS. I never cared for just running back and forth in game to get eggs to hatch. It always felt really tedious to me.

Something I've always wanted is different egg designs for each pokemon, like in the anime. I'm tired of the usual design. That's probably not gonna happen though, but I suppose I can dream...
