Thoughts on bats!
I liked the Idea of the plot. We get some interesting facts and history on vampire bats, (shame they weren't the fruit bats from apple family reunion) I love the design of flutterbat, and plan on using it as a theme once I can get some good pictures of her, although this episode screams fanservice to me. After all, bat ponies have been a type of pony OC for a very long time (since season 2) and are very popular. The song was amazing though. It was catchy, and had a feel to it very unique from the other songs in mlp. (Kinda reminds me a little of princess of the night...) So yeah. It was very good. Dash needs to go to an AA meeting though, I think she has a serious addiction to cider. The whole episode, she's like "NOOOOES! IT'LL RUIN THE CIDER! THINK OF THE CIDER!" Wouldn't it be funny to think of rainbow as an alcoholic? Oh well. That's my 2 bits.

I actually really, really enjoyed Bats!. Everything about it was wonderful, even down to the actual lesson that was taught this time around. I especially liked how it ended with the close up of the fang :D

My thoughts on Bats!

Though not as good as last week's, it was still entertaining enough. It's about time Fluttershy and Applejack had some interaction, it might just be the first time they've really spoken to each other. Though they had their differences in this episode, I can imagine the pair working really well together, what with Applejack running a farm and Fluttershy's ability with animals.

For such a sweet pony, (most of the time) Fluttershy sure has the scariest transformations out of anyone in the series, I wouldn't want to see her turn into Flutterbat and Flutter-hulk at the same time.

Funniest parts of the episodes were Rainbow Dash turning into Helen Lovejoy and how happy Pinkie looked near the end of the song when everyone else was so serious.

My favorite part of this episode was how they managed to fit multiple different morals and themes into one plot. Talking about the problems of short-sighted solutions and also the importance of avoiding undue peer pressure was a monumental task, but I felt they were able to express both fairly effectively.

That being said, I've noticed at the end of a lot of these episodes, there's that last little stinger at the end, like the shadow pony, the disappearing comic book, and in this one, Fluttershy's remaining fang. I wonder if these are just little teases, or if any of them might become significant later on in the plot. I would say no in the case of the first two, but this latest one has some potential.

I doubt they would make a long-running arc out of something as silly as that, they probably would have just made the finale about it and left it (mostly) separate from the intro/rest of the season like the past two seasons.

I'm wondering if all these last-second teasers are hinting at what's to come in the finale. The Pony of Shadows could be interesting as a villain, and maybe it'll use the comic book from last week as part of its evil plans? I'm not sure about how Flutterbat fits in to all of this though.

Speaking of long-running stuff, hopefully we can get one of the keys soon. I'd hate for them to all be rushed in the last two or three episodes, if it's spread out through the season then there's potential for each of the main 6 to get an adventure episode.

I think there's going to be one episode for each key, but they're probably going to be more towards the end of the season. So maybe Episodes 19-24 will be each of the keys, and then 25 and 26 will be about what's inside. Or maybe they'd spread it out a bit more and start around 13-15ish.

Hopefully it starts soon, we already know what's coming up to episode 11 and none of them seem like Key-finding episodes, unless of course they just randomly find one at the end of an episode.

Well, the way it seems to work this season is that the plot itself isn't overarching, instead it's the same slice of life format with overarching plot elements. So in theory they could get them in just about any episode.

I loved Bats too.

Epsiode 12 is Pinkie Pride
Synopsis: Pinkie Pie must defend her status as a party pony when a mysterious visitor comes to town and plans a party for Rainbow Dash.

I don't even know how to start saying how much I love this show. So I'll sum up by saying that Rarity is the best pony and leave it at that. Because when you have a kid's show and one of your mane characters is torn between furthering her career and maintaining her friendships, all while said friendships are tested by mad gods, you know you're onto something good.

I for one am looking forward to this Weird Al episode. If someone had told me five years ago that I'd be speculating on the possible relationship between Weird Al and a sextet of magical talking ponies, I would've lost it. This is what ponies have done to me. And I like it.

Thoughts on S04E08:

A very enjoyable episode. I don't recall a Rarity centered ep in Season 3 (right?) so I was very eager to see this. Rarity always has the best and most hilarious meltdowns. So pretty much everything was pleasing, from the slimy rival to the nice lesson taught at the end. Also, I swear I saw a friggin' Grumpy Cat cutie mark on that pony Rarity bumped into? LOL

This episode also seemed to place emphasis on rainbows.. hmm.

I have a crazy theory pertaining to the chest quest:

Okay, so earlier I posted a link to a new toy line which features the Mane 6 as Rainbow Ponies. Since toy lines sometimes foreshadow the plot, I'm thinking this will probably be the contents of the chest. As for the keys, you may have noticed that the spool flashed a rainbow at the end. If I'm right about Rainbow Power, this is obvious foreshadowing. But it's not just a simple hint, I think the spool may be one of the keys. Think about it, the spool looks like it's just the right size to fit in a keyhole, and the keyholes themselves are different shapes, which could mean that the keys could easily be a variety of different objects. The "keys" may simply be different objects relating to the Mane 6's elements.

The grumpy cat cutie mark is the only problem I have with this episode, everything else was perfect! I was hoping Rarity would stay in Manehattan for a while and work with Coco on that project, just something to change the status quo. But I'm okay with how it ended up, though I hope this isn't the last we see of Coco. Or the bellhop and the cab driver, they were cuties too. :3

Thoughts on Rarity Takes Manehattan.

Another excellent episode. It's about time Rarity got another episode, and this didn't disappoint at all. Rarity is always fun when she's in diva mode, even when the scenes are suppose to be serious

Now I can see why Babs Seed acted the way she did if a lot of people in Manehattan are like Suri. I was wondering when someone was going to take advantage of one of the Mane Six's element, and I was surprised Suri didn't have any sort of redemption by the end. (Perhaps she's could be the evil Rarity in a possible Elements of Disharmony?)

Rarity was perfect. Only she can make the switch from being the dream tourist to the snarky slavedriver. Although despite that I found myself oddly distracted with the cabbie, who looked vaguely like a grizzled Flash Sentry. I can see him being his dad, and being highly disappointed in his son. But that's a minor note. Rarity is life. Rarity.

It's interesting that Rarity received the rainbow spool from Coco in a generous gift that was made in response to generous actions. If it does turn out to be a key to the chest, it might indicate a pattern where the traits of the Elements are demonstrated by not only the Mane Six, but those who are affected by what they do. Maybe the point of this quest is to expand the influence of Harmony across all Equestria, and to show that friendship is an expanding web of relationships rather than a closed circle.

In other news, I think we can all agree that Suri is the worst pony.
