Re: Lord of the Rings Mafia -- August 1st -- Night 1 -- Utterly Forgotten -- NEED SUB

Didn't have enough time to read the entirety of the thread, but I'll post what I have so far (up to post #216). Didn't read up until the update but I've read Soulmaster's lynch post.

so your vote being on the first wagon isn't a good enough reason for you. interesting.

unvote: forgotten
vote: crackfox
Should we all try to vote for different people so that nobody will be lynched at the end of the day then?

Was is it really necessary to make a post like "Oh, is that so? Let me find that..." and then make a post like "Ahh yes! I found it!" when he could have just found the post and put it all together in one post.
That's kind of very nitpicky, don't you think?

With that in mind, [...] @Zenax; [...] what are your reads of Day 1 so far?
These people were mentioned based on the fact that they haven't posted in Day 1 yet.
Both people mentioned above. I'll also say that I have a townread on Master Mew.

I'd explain why I would have supported Soulmaster's lynch, but he summed it up quite nicely so I'll just quote this instead.

He's content to sit on his hands until he's under fire, then he only shows up to defend himself and I have to drag reads out of him? Then he vanishes again until the wagon on him grows more and he shows up to defend himself again and basically repeat the reads that were drug out of him last time?

Re: Lord of the Rings Mafia -- August 1st -- Night 1 -- Utterly Forgotten

@Master Mew; I totally forgot about that game :p

@Paperhorse; rather than pressuring a player that said they are busy, why not share your thoughts. You're one of the players who haven't contributed enough. Looking through your posts there are maybe two that truly have some substance.

Then with a crash came a great ringing shout: ra-hoom-rah! The trees quivered and bent as if a gust had struck them. There was another pause, and then a marching music began like solemn drums, and above the rolling beats and booms there welled voices singing high and strong.

We come, we come, with roll of drum: ta-runda runda runda rom!

The Ents were coming: ever nearer and louder rose their long:

We come, we come with horn and drum: ta-ru na runa runa rom!

GliscorMan, you ARE:

GliscorMan, you are Treebeard

250px-John_Howe_-_Treebeard.jpg

’Treebeard’ – John Howe

‘Hm, but you are hasty folk, I see,’ said Treebeard. ‘I am honoured by your confidence; but you should not be too free all at once. There are Ents and Ents, you know; or there are Ents and things that look like Ents but ain’t, as you might say. I’ll call you Merry and Pippin, if you please – nice names. For I am not going to tell you my name, not yet at any rate.’ A queer half-knowing, half-humorous look came with a green flicker into his eyes. ‘For one thing it would take a long while: my name is growing all the time, and I’ve lived a very long, long time; so my name is like a story. Real names tell you the story of the things they belong to…'

-- The Two Towers, "Treebeard"

You are Treebeard, an an Ent of the tree-like race.

A long, long time: When you die, it will take a full Day and Night phase for your death to be processed. Your role will be revealed at that time.

You are a Treestump.

You are allied with The Fellowship of the Ring and win when all The Forces of Sauron are eliminated.

You could try a massclaim.

Before long they saw the marching line approaching: The Ents were swinging along with great strides down the slope towards them.

Treebeard was at their head, and some fifty followers were behind him, two abreast, keeping step with their feet and beating time with their hands upon their flanks. As they drew near the flash and flicker of their eyes could be seen.

‘Hoom, hom! Here we come with a boom, here we come at last!’ called Treebeard when he caught sight of Bregalad and the hobbits. ‘Come, join the Moot! We are off. We are off to Isengard!’

‘To Isengard!’ the Ents cried in many voices.
‘To Isengard!’

To Isengard! Though Isengard be ringed and barred with doors of stone;
Though Isengard be strong and hard,
as cold as stone and bare as bone,
We go, we go, we go to war, to hew the stone and break the door;
For bole and bough are burning now, the furnace roars – we go to war!
To land of gloom with tramp of doom, with roll of drum, we come, we come;
To Isengard with doom we come!
With doom we come, with doom we come!

‘Of course, it is likely enough, my friends,’ he [Treebeard] said slowly, ‘likely enough that we are going to our doom: the last march of the Ent. …’

In the interest of a good experiment, I'm trying automatic self-votes. Like before, you may change your vote, and you may vote for a No Lynch, but you may not Unvote and thereby do nothing.

UNVOTE: Midorikawa
VOTE: Paperhorse

I find it strange how she was rushing gibes yet she had contributed much less, and rather than give thoughts about the lynch she didn't mind, she pressured gibes.

I wasn't pressuring him, I was just asking a question. :l

Woah. Slow down there. We have GliscorMan with us for 72 more hours. It might be best if we think today through.

Re: Lord of the Rings Mafia -- August 1st -- Night 1 -- Utterly Forgotten

I am sorry Phoenicks but there is a problem with the vote chart my name has been changed to "None, yet" for my vote

Re: Lord of the Rings Mafia -- August 1st -- Night 1 -- Utterly Forgotten

@Paperhorse; Gibes said he would explain later that he was busy yet you made a point to give him a notification and thus rush him.

@Beck; Its one vote and PH isn't in danger unless others follow my vote. I'm not going to waste time waiting for GM to come online because then we waste a day phase when we should use every minute wisely.

But what if he died before the phase ended and didn't share the information? I don't see how my question is a big deal.

Re: Lord of the Rings Mafia -- August 2nd -- Day 3 -- To Isengard!

How is it at all strange to prompt a player for an answer, like PH did? GG entered the thread, cast a shady vote, promised us a reason, and has not delivered. That's a good enough reason as any to be concerned. I just don't understand why that warrants such a hasty vote against PH.

Also, @Phoenicks;, thank you for organizing the vote count from yesterday.

His claim is fake. I am Town Strongman.

At the moment Beck is much more trusted than me from what I've gathered, and this will most likely result in a lynch on myself. But when my role is revealed it will prove Beck is lying, and thus most likely mafia.

To be specific I investigate as Strongman, but I'm basically vanilla with no extra abilitys as Beck claims.

So you're saying you're strongman in name only????? A glorified vanilla???? If this is true I don't even see how that'd conflict with Beck's claim which is actually a role..... ://////////

Re: Lord of the Rings Mafia -- August 2nd -- Day 3 -- To Isengard!

Is it hot in here or is it just me?

It looks like we've got ourselves a decision to make.

Re: Lord of the Rings Mafia -- August 2nd -- Day 3 -- To Isengard!

In light of Soulmaster being lynched, as I said, it's time to announce a couple players who're now giving me townreads.

Midorikawa: Her posts felt like she was trying to dissuade me from voting Soulmaster, trying to get me, among other people, to consider someone else.

Master Mew: Before he was lynched, Soulmaster told me that he was getting a townread from Master Mew. Knowing now that Soulmaster was in fact town, I'm inclined to put more stock in his opinion than I did before when I suspected him of being mafia. Also, Master Mew was trying to protect Soulmaster or myself (sort of. As much as someone who didn't know our alignment should). I know I can't prove to you I'm not scum without dying, but with my knowing that I'm town, and the now public knowledge that Soulmaster was town, at least one of those should be considered by each of us.

It works out either way. At this point whether you believe me doesn't matter, losing a vanilla that hinders cop is fine in comparison to hitting scum.

.....how exactly do you hinder the cop???

People would be a lot more likely to believe you if you just elaborated on exactly what you are; Beck has earned some brownie points by doing just that and when someone comes out with a counterclaim that just seems vague and not even contradictory it's hard to take their side.

Re: Lord of the Rings Mafia -- August 2nd -- Day 3 -- To Isengard!

I said, I investigate as Strongman but I function as vanilla townie. That's literally my role.

When the cop would've investigated me, he probably would've shared with someone he trusts, and a day would be wasted leading a lynch on me that would've wasted a day of discussion.

So you would be right that becks is more trusted than you but that is not why i'm going to say this. if in fact you are a strong man and beck is not the strong man that doesn't make beck 100% mafia he could just be protecting his more powerful town role under the cover of a weak town role causing some (if any) confusion for the mafia as to who to kill off next a powerful player with a unknown role or the so called strongman we are also going to need more than just a counter claim to prove he isn't the strongman. Also as good as he seems I doubt beck would claim a bad role for just the sake of a few more safe nights. I'm not opposed to the fact he is mafia I just don't think he would slip up this easy.

Re: Lord of the Rings Mafia -- August 2nd -- Day 3 -- To Isengard!

I did say maybe. If that is true well sorry to you Beck, would've been a great plan. But what did you want me to do, let Beck fly under the radar as a trusted townie until I was lynched?

I wasn't trusting of Beck in the first place. This just makes me more confident about his alignment.
