Character Redesigns: Yay or Nay?

So far there hasn't been a redesign I haven't like besides Tabitha's. At first I just didn't like his new design at all since he seemed like he was going to be one big joke but looking at the recent images it seems that he will be a little sinister. Other than that I like all the new designs.

Really? I don't see it. I mean she's like what 10, 12? I know lots of kids that age who just have that sort of body type. I don't think a lot of women fill out till a little later in life. And I like like her design better the Brendon's (still HATE that hat).

Me fiancé pointed out that she's drawn at a 3/4th angle which is what they use to make models look skinnier.

Its her legs that draw my attention. In her RSE designs she had more muscle in her legs, now her legs remind me of Shauna's. Though its obvious that Ken's art style has changed, and perhaps this is how he wants them.

I'm not to bothered by the redesigns, I really like Steve's, Team Aqua and Team Magma's redesigns. Still hoping for Character Customizing for this next gen.

Ken's art style changed. His designs look slim compared to his older ones. My initial comment was based off her legs.

I don't really like the outfit they gave her. For one, it makes her look younger. In the originals she could've passed for a teenager, now she barely looks 10. Also, it's way too frilly and tries to beat you over the head with the fact that she's a girl.

I love most of the new designs, honestly. Way better than the old ones, imo. The only exception is Tabitha. Just...what. The. Fuck. Were. They. Thinking?

I still hate Brendan's hat too though. It always looked retarded.

But May actually looks CUTE. Her ugly bandana is gone and so are her ugly gloves. She's just overall more cute now! Still don't like her hair though.

Most female protagonists are like that. I think there are two exceptions. The black and white female and the heart gold and soul silver female protagonist.

Edit: I totally forgot Dawn from Dimond pearl and platinum. Well I'm an idiot.

May never really needed to be cute, it didn't suit her.

I'm gonna play devil's advocate here and say that I really prefer May's new design over the original. Brendan still looks dumb as hell though, the new artwork makes him look cross-eyed, and I still despise that stupid hat. The villain teams both are improved, before they were kinda generic, but now they actually stand out. Wally got the best redesign imo, he actually looks pretty cool now.

Huh I just realized not only is she thinner but she's also pointing the tip of her toes in words. This was a problem I had with 5th gens females, every singe one of them it was done a bit in 6th gen as well but not nearly as much.

Huh I just realized not only is she thinner but she's also pointing the tip of her toes in words. This was a problem I had with 5th gens females, every singe one of them it was done a bit in 6th gen as well but not nearly as much.

Apparently these Jap moe otaku teens love feet this way. Moe is like cancer on Japanese fiction.
