What did you NOT like about Sun&Moon?

As for my earlier point about Sunne/Moone... I guess I just find Old English silly-looking. (Further reading: "drakonrydder" in Heart of Dread.)

I actually kind of like that we got a Pokemon League at the end. While I did appreciate that Trials were different from the more typical Gym badge quest, I thought it was interesting to see a region get a Pokemon League for the first time. Plus, battling stronger versions of the first two Island Kahunas at the end of the journey felt kind of nice. It gave the journey a kind of full circle feeling for me if that makes sense. The Pokemon League itself was still kind of different because of that, along with the games recognizing that we are still the Champion at the end for once, but similar enough at the same time, which feels kind of fitting for Sun/Moon.

What would've been cool as a nod from the anime would've been Crystal Onix, it was a weird Onix that was unaffected by Water attacks but was really weak to Fire, it was probably a Steel or Steel/Ice-type with the ability Dry Skin, making it 3x or 5x weak to Fire, but getting no damage and actually getting healed by Water attacks, of course Water Absorb or Storm Drain would work too, but Dry Skin makes the most sense since it was highlighted that he's super weak to Fire and I guess crystals are somewhat dry?

Would've been cool to do more Alolan forms based on previously shown Pokemon, sort of how everyone recognized that Alolan Raichu was a nod to the surfing Pikachu.

Also Pink Butterfree could've been like a Bug/Fairy Alolan Butterfree with Levitate.

I feel it was a prototype for Steelix. Hmm...

EDIT: I hate how SM forces you to use your Circle Pad to move.

To continue my dye house rant: why can't you dye the Flower Print Shirt, Casual Shorts, and accessories? -_- I can understand the clothing articles with unique prints being un-dyeable (stuff like the Tropical Tank Top, Scaly Espadrilles etc.) but why these? I'm playing as a girl. Does the male character have a similar problem?

Yes, it's the same. Unless it says "white ____," you can't dye it. There's even this really neat shirt that's white with black edges and a black tie pattern. You'd think you could dye the white part, but no.

Before I post this, which I'm sure has been discussed to death, I'll note that and I'm completely out of the loop - I just finally started playing this game after I dropped it back in late November (I had beat the main storyline but not the post-game storyline)... and now after using the QR feature and having it show me Pokemon from outside the region...

Do we really not have a National Dex in this game? Did the QR codes show me Pokemon for absolutely no reason as there's no indication whatsoever that I've ever even seen them, and the Pokemon that appeared and I caught wasn't even registered.

What in the world were they thinking? I've heard something about it being available through Pokemon Bank. What in the world. I shouldn't have to pay additional money to have access to it.

nope no national dex in sun and moon but they did include it in pokemon bank via update

After a few months, I decided to pick up Sun and play it casually. But once you do the UB quests, there's absolutely nothing left to do but take pictures and do the Battle Tree. There's nothing that makes me want to keep playing past the story. So I just put the game down again and haven't thought twice about it.
You can still hunt for shinies.

Shiny hunting's not everyone's cup of tea. It's essentially the same battle over and over, and given that they're not interested in the Battle Tree, it doesn't sound like something they'd enjoy.

What's funny is that you can see on the GTS what you've seen that isn't in the Dex (Pidgey isn't in the Dex but I scanned it and can search for it on the GTS without having to manually type the name) which means the game is tracking it somewhere... they're just not letting us see it. That basically means there's a hidden national dex in the game and they're hiding it from us so we buy their Poke Bank DLC

What about breeding for shinies?

Shinies are over rated and a waste of time

What about breeding for shinies?

IMO riding a Tauros for hours to continually hatch the same Pokémon is even more boring than continually battling the same Pokémon :p

I liked shiny hunting in the previous gen, but I gotta say I'm not interested anymore with SOS Battles and breeding being the only two options this time, which are both really boring imo. Especially since with SOS Battles you need to have a chain of at least 70 before the shiny chance increases, adding that to the fact that Pokémon don't always call an ally and that they can do frustrating things as healing themselves, etc. it just takes bloody ages.

I miss fish chaining (which didn't take so long), DexNav chaining (which just was more fun imo and you could catch other good mons along the way) and the Friend Safari (which you could do while watching television or other stuff, both breeding and SOS Battles require too many actions in between for this for me).

All I do in my Moon game nowadays is check for mystery gifts, and participate in global missions for the minimum amount it takes to get rewards. Otherwise, the game is dormant, and I end up always playing Animal Crossing instead.

Sometimes, I check up on Smogon to check out their meta (Tangrowth has become surprisingly powerful now!), but I'm just not motivated to play competitive anymore. I swear... It's as if they designed the postgame to discourage the casuals from wanting to keep playing.

Yes, I certainly noticed that the National Dex is in Poke Bank.

Once I realized that I instantly lost interest in the game. I shouldn't have to pay any extra fees to get a National Dex. Ridiculous.

i mean, the national dex has done nothing for a long time. even with it removed the Shiny Charm is earned by completing the Alola Dex.

I don't care about the Shiny Charm. I'm frustrated by the fact that there are a ton of Pokemon that exist that are not registered by the game. A great part of the post-game is trying to collect as many Pokemon as you can, and in this game they aren't even registered. It makes the whole thing feel completely pointless.
