My hopes for the future of pokemon is graphics and character movement comparable to dragon quest xi. Imagine that game but in pokemons artstyle with a pokemon following you and wild encounters leading to turn based combat in a similar fasion to that game. That is where i hope pokemon goes

I would love to see GF gradually work towards a style Ni no Kuni 2:

These are my hopes, but my expectations are the first switch game will be just gen 7 with better textures and shading. The game after that will be closer to the graphics we want. Similar to how upon getting to 3ds, we had gen 6's kind of transition graphical style then gen 7's more fleshed out one. Im still not convinced lapras image is fake to be honest

I just want them to maintain the natural landscape. I do not think this is a massive demand at all.

I think Direct will be in one week, if isn't that means "leakers" don't know anything. ;)

a direct next week only may happen because of the investors meeting. it doesn't really have anything to do with leakers/rumors. We don't even know for sure if the one ubi employee was hinting towards pokemon

If there was a Direct in a few days(before the investors meeting),we would have been hearing some rumblings.

Not necessarily I don't think. They've been pretty famous for not announcing a Direct, Pokemon or Nintendo, until the day before. But the only "rumblings" so far has been that Ubisoft guy if that counts for anything, other than Paul Ryan hinting at the date of the 26th relating to the merchandise.

Yeah the Switch game will probably look like this:

Is it really bad that I never noticed all that water in Lusamine's chamber until now?

Looking everything over, I feel Orange Island Gen 7 is most logical... maybe a plot twist is Alola is the Orange Islands in a different dimension. I think the Orange Islands had 4 main islands that were part of their gym challenge, with many smaller islands to explore. Make sense to have the first Switch title to have a similar map, plus the other Islands would all be accessable through Lapras, giving us a ton of extra exploration. Also, I've read plenty of rumors about PKMN having 'varients', but not like the ones we've seen in Alola. The Orange Islands were known for tge abundance of different colored Pokemon. Would explain regional varients, and allow them to 'add more', while adding now actual new monsters. Anyway, that's the train I'm on now. It all (kind of) fits with the hints.

Interesting. So assuming he's alluding to pokemon switch and not pokemon rumble, and his sources are from NoA or Nintendo Europe then a reveal trailer must be imminent.

he also tells a youtuber to not get too excited because it'll lead to overhype. Damn. Hopefully that's a "don't get too excited, this game wont be like BOTW"

Orange islands i doubt. First, that was more just exclusive anime filler type stuff from like 20 years ago, so not really relevent today. Second, the real world islands the orange islands were based on did come to the games in fire red leaf green, but are called sevii islands. These two reasons are why its doubtful orange islands will come to the games.

Wrong. Anime has Sevii and Orange Islands make appearances. They are two very different things. Going off of the merch and Lapras hints, it makes tons of sense to me. Orange Islands are the only real anime place we have never explored. I could def be wrong, but let's not write it off as stupid just yet. Lugia is a big part of the Orange Islands as well. Orange also the only place before Alola to have Trial like gyms.. And reboot could mean going more anime based. Make sense to tie everything together if the Switch release is expected to be the best selling PKMN to date..

Jessie and James made an appearance in Yellow version. So really there's nothing that's stopping Game Freak from putting the Orange Islands in the games sometime in the future.

Speaking of the islands though, wasn't there a rumor on 4chan that mentioned the games would have elements of the anime and manga in it?

I think we're many years too late to make an anime-exclusive area video game canon. And while it would be incredible to get Pinkan and Orange Island variants in-game- I can't see this happening. They're all little more than a color change, with the slight exception of Butterfree.

Plus let's take a look at the Orange Archipelago...

So many islands. Yikes.

The anime doesn't have or need a cohesive logical map though. Even though the anime references both island chains, they both are based on the same real world locations. So in a game map, where would orange islands go in relation to sevii? In the anime they can gloss over this type of thing, but its more tricky with a game that needs an actual world map

There's a lot more than just the Orange Islands.

Everything? What about the different mangas and their plots? Or the TCG-exclusive variants and items? Basing the games off the anime doesn't tie those products in.
