They really can't, since it means they have too make the models smaller, which doesn't make sense for a home console that is bigger than a handheld. If all, the models are only getting bigger because of that.
they have a bigger screen and better resolution so they can fit more pokemon on the screen.
they dont really need to increase the size of the sprites no idea where you get that idea from

They have a bigger screen and higher resolution to use in the first place. They can fit more models on there. Not quite getting your logic here.

Don’t forget that this patent was filed in 2016. It’s related to S/M, not the new games, so it’s more than likely irrelevant anyway. Before anyone toots off and says that it was filed today - yes, in the US. In Japan, it was filed 2016.

On another note, I can remember when people were saying that the Pokemon Switch release date had to be updated at the investors meeting otherwise the investors were going to ‘lose faith’. Good times.

wasnt it more about the stock increasing and this looking even better?

I had an idea come to mind... this whole promotion of "make your story". What if they're gonna put in the game how your choices affect the gameplay? For a Pokemon main series title, that would be really ambitious and something that just about everybody would be excited about.

I doubt they could fulfill such a lofty promise. I don't want to be the champion. No one will agree with me on this. I do not get what I want.

You literally become the Champion in every main series game known to man when you complete them.

I'm gonna be honest with you man, but... I'm having a hard time understanding a bunch of your posts, they are either cryptic or appear to be off the wall from what other people are discussing. It's even more confusing when you don't even quote anybody. I'm just trying to understand is all, no hard feelings.

I'm going to start with another question: Am I permitted to like pokemon solely for the pokemon?

What kind of changes, do you think, we should expect?

More than likely will be simplified I'd imagine. We've steadily seen the interface keep the same concept but simplify the entire concept as the generations have gotten on. Project Octopath and other switch games like the Persona series has shown us that turn-based games still have some tricks that can be added to make it flashier without actually changing the gameplay too much. I dont mean open world or a Xenoblade battle system. I feel things we can expect are :

1. Just adding a button to activate your Z / Mega Evolution / Ultra Necrozma thing instead of pressing a touch screen, that's extremely likely, going through a button or going through a second menu are the ways of accomplishing this could be done.

2. Motion controls are another possibility, this was already done with Battle Revolution in a sense where you chose your attacks via motion controls, they could take this further with the switch with the joycons or whatnot, this would be optional but it could be nice to have that feature for those that would enjoy it. Standard JRPG games on the switch incorporate like Xenoblade and others adopt all controller types so we are never forced into the pro controller or joycons and the like so this seems fine and likely.

3. Gen 6 incorporated attacks directly affecting the battle background with various effects and Gen 7 introduced trainers near the trainers but they did nothing, would be nice to see the switch take these concepts further, why not have an aggressive pokemon attack you in the overworld and you start the battle that way, could even use the gen 6 concept and take it further with some attacks changing and destroying the battle field / affecting the overworld in some way. Even NPC characters joining your party, why not have them present in the battlefield but throw off healing items for your pokemon occasionally or adopt a cheer system similar to pokemon amie. This would be better than them being non existent in battle and auto healing your team after every battle.

Little things like that could change the battle system without taking away from its core.

I think it'd deff be cool if the next games featured decisions that impacted the story. I've been playing a lot of Radiant Historia lately and it's really cool seeing how different certain events turn out depending on what choice you make. Either that, or having each versions story differ more than usual via different choices made would be neat. I think FE Birthright/Awakening are a good example of that (loosely, since they are two completely different games), but I don't see gamefreak developing two separate games.

In terms of "choice" I've always wanted to be able to a side job/profession or something. Like prof's assistant, breeder, ranger, etc which would just add little side things to do during the game, or give you added benefits for completing tasks related to the profession. That seems like a feature that would be far off if it were to ever happen though.

Also the ubisoft guy is implying June announcement. Seems like an obvious guess but we'll see I guess

I don't really want Pokemon to do this. It would overcomplicate the game and oversaturate it with useless features that hardly anyone will ever use.
