Seriously DO NOT expect johto game freak will come up with some B's excuse why we can't go there "magnet trains broken, ship not working, random gaurd Infront of door that leads to johto"

Maybe sevi islands (maybe) maybe Mt sliver (most likely but also probably not) but don't expect them to include johto, having two regions are the johto games thing and game freak probably hasn't had the time to make two Regions

I don't really see Johto being included in the game but they could mention it in passing or make references to the region but include it? Probably not.

If we're just visiting the same ol' Kanto again, I don't really buy the argument that they haven't had time to make two regions. Unless they fully reimagined Kanto beyond our dreams, which I'll have to see to believe.

Then in an interview:
"Haha, well, kids would think there's too much and stop playing, and people don't really care about Johto in general,so we decided not to include it.(laughs)"

@Greninjaman; Probably not much. There's still Hapu's Grand Trial to do plus the "Anime" league that may or not be going on. Which could last a year and given enough time to get Gen 8 out in the shelves, so I wouldn't worry too much... I think?
To me it seems that they will wrap up the Alola League by February/March 2019, and we don't know when the next generation will be released.

Tom Phillips that the project started as Stars in parallel to SM, and at some point it transformed into LGPE. They could have had an engine with SM-like graphics, walking Pokemon and no random battles for more than two years now.

Johto or not, they really shouldn't settle for Kanto in its current size. Bringing back the Sevii Islands would be weird given their lack of popularity and in-game references.

@Unown Seer; You think so? I'm not really sure, if they have LGP/E they could have another year and use the time to develop and promote Gen 8 (if it exists). They could leave Hapu's Grand Trial until around December or so, plus there's also Ultra Necrozoma that's being hinted at as well.

If they're remaking kanto they'd want to focus on kanto specifically, like when they remade frlg they didn't even mention johto, I think Janine is in the game as a generic npc but I never found her, I just read it on bulbapedia. They'll probably expand kanto but johto will be untouched in case they ever want to revisit that region again.

"We thought 16 badges was to much and that the kids wouldn't be able to count that high (laughs) ."

"So why did you emove the battle system and 300 Pokemon?"

"Because kids only have enough time to tap, the battle system was to complex for their tiny minds to comprehend, also we only removed filler and crappy Pokemon no one cared about."

"No one cared about all the other starters?"

" Only the kanto starters matter you know this (laughs) gen 1 is the only one that matters (laughs)

Promote the next generation before it is released? They haven't done that for over 10 years, and even then they just gave the cast cute baby Pokemon (that didn't do much).

Say that they can put Hapu on hold until December due to the Necrozma story. What then? In several series, the league followed soon after the last gym leader, and then it was over within two months. The only reason I can think of that would put the league on hold is if Ash went to Kanto first, which would be dumb.

I don't really agree with the argument that's being made against a Johto inclusion. We shouldn't even be comparing these upcoming games to FRLG and HGSS, because judging by the leaks they're supposed to be something entirely else. With that said, there is nothing stopping them from including Johto just because "FRLG did this" and "HGSS did that".

I do recall Masuda and his team talking about the complications of adding a second region in previous interviews and articles, the level scaling issue in GSC and HGSS was atrocious which most fans agree with, he stated that until he and his team can find a way to address that there wont be a second region in a game which I agree with. I also dont agree with leaving your party with the professor and starting a new region with new pokemon that seems like a weird anime thing. I'd like to see the levels gradually continue on instead of going lower than what the first region had and then spiking 25+ levels out of no where lol

It's very possible for a johto add on, but if they are, can we please fix and address the huge issues with adding in a second region first !

Personally I don’t think we are going to get a reveal this month. Every year at E3 that a Pokémon game existed, it was covered there. Right now E3 is just around the corner and I could see them holding off any announcement until then. Or/As was announced early May and had another trailer just over a month at E3. If the Switch Games where announced next week, “one month later” misses E3 and I don’t think, if a game is coming this year, they wouldn’t feature it at E3 to some extent.

You know what's got me curious? When they said they took Gorochu out for balance reasons, it makes you curious how strong was Gorochu was supposed to be.

What about X&Y and Sun & Moon? Both were revealed before E3 weren't they?

Well, ir might have been Rock/Electric based on the name (Gorochu [PikaCHU / GOROn]).

Gorons are rock monsters from Legend of Zelda for those who don't know.

I don't think that's the case. Goro means rumble in japanese I believe. Like rumbling thunder. Honestly I'd like to see an Electric/Fighting type.
