So people should get a free pass from rules as long as they're creating something, even making money with other people's copyright content? What about when people hacked Sableye and Spiritomb with Wonderguard in the Gen 5 era? That was creating something new-should they have been allowed to use those Pokemon in tournaments just because they did something creative?

I mean, It's not such an epiphany that changed things in the last days...we're basically where we have been since Pokemon Day.

The contest is also a problem, but this is a bigger problem because now they have to make a retraction and put in a different design. Since they are not known for apologizing to the fandom, I do not expect this, yet they SHOULD do it, otherwise they lied. I will lose anything I have left for this fandom if they are going to allow Pokemon to lie to us.

It’s really not that big a deal...
 
It's not like the fandom doesn't know the story or the reason why it was changed-it'll almost certainly be mentioned when the new winner is declared. Besides, if pre-release getting changed is enough to count as lying, you should have lost "anything you have left" in 2013 when Gardevoir didn't learn Fairy Wind, despite being shown using it in an E3 trailer.
 
Wow literally every other shirt I looked at in that list of winners looks better than the Unown shirt. Bravo, judges. slow clap Randomly gave second place to someone I'd have put near the bottom. Everything else looks like so much more effort was put into them. 2nd place just slapped an Unown on a pocket on the front (even the unown looks like it's going 'you picked this? really??') and for the back just replaced four of the Cs on a Landolt C eye chart with four of the closer to C shaped unowns.

Edit: About the t-shirt contest, this was the second place, and since the first place cheated, it's probably the one we'll get in the game.

I looked at all the t shirts, and the second place deserves to be last imo... There are so many gems in there : I can see myself wearing the Alolan exeggutor one, the Alolan Marowak one, the other one with the Magikarp (Ned Garett's work), and the Ghost Pokemon compilation by Hvnn.

It's an actually more creative Unown entry ironically than the actual second place imo. (They are just letters after all) The one with all the ghost types is also pretty stellar, but I too think they should just include every single one. We should be allowed mod-able in-game clothing in a perfect world, but whatevs.

@E3 I'd expect:

These expectations shouldn't be that unrealistic.

I feel that if they’re going to give out info on the Gym gimmick they’ll leave out the rival, villainous team, and the Pokemon families or vice versa since it’s a bit too early in the news cycle to give all this news imo.

I agree. I think the cover legendaries, the professor, and Route 1 mons are enough imo.

You may be right, but since its e3 and its been so long since the initial trailer, then perhaps they would be willing to show a bit more to get people enthused again. Maybe not all at once, but at the very least e3 should kick off a steady and natural flow of info until release.

Seeing Pokemon's usual news cycles, it’s pretty certain that the news flow will be steady after E3. That amount of reveals just seems unrealistic imo, and that probably hasn’t happened before (I'm not too sure on this).

Besides, literally anything would generate hype in this fanbase. An idea to create the most hype without revealing much would be putting in a hint in the trailer, like Rockruff being sneaked into a random scene before it’s official reveal.

Gimmick and evil team were usually revealed later in the year (around August). But right now, anything can happen.
 
Well, we still need the legends since that is still left over from the things we are usually shown at this point. We will probably get some characters and a ton of pokemon if past patterns hold. If they were willing to skip this month for this, though, I am putting my foot down. I want the central gimmick of this game. I don't care if it's normally revealed in August, showing things we've seen in every pokemon game isn't going to cut it. We need excitement. We need something different. This fandom may be placated by new pokemon, but this time, I won't be.
 
After observing the Pokemon Lab in the trailer, I have a strange feeling that the typing to Galar is more Grass Types than Metal.

Kanto: Poison
Johto: Electric
Hoenn: Fire
Sinnoh: Ice
Unova: Dragon
Kalos: Fairy
Alola: Water
Galar: Grass

I'm sure anyone can help figure out what typing you think matches?
