Leak Repository Thread (WARNING: Huge spoilers!)

I could see Sinnoh and possibly Johto being left out for the eventual Sinnoh remakes, and it’s a pity since they’re the best trios imo...

Sinnoh’s the only region where I actually struggle picking my starter. All of them are great in their own way! I usually don’t like slow and tanky looking Pokemon, but Torterra changed that.

I want Sinnoh again so much... I guess I’ll continue with my Platinum run for the time being.

I think patterns such as those are not something we can rely on going forward with the games having limited amount of Pokémon.
It's not so much about patterns as it is the reasoning behind it-that new gen games are going to focus on their new starters, while remakes are bringing old Pokemon to the current generation.

I think this rumor is our twelfth to pretend they have the entire dex? Cool beans.

Yes but that doesn't mean they can't have them in the game. Kanto starters had so much presence in XY only because they had new forms and were gift Pokémon. Having starters in the wild like in Sun and Moon or LGPE will not be giving them any focus.

Sun and Moon only had theirs through Island Scan, and LGPE was only the Kanto starters. But Game Freak has said that part of the decisions behind what Pokemon get cut is whether they fit the setting. If our only options for wild starters so far are "starters of the region" or "found through special methods", I can't imagine Game Freak would suddenly make an exception instead of just cutting them.

The patterns change when the limit of usable pokemon changes
We all know that our starters are our favorites and it's hard to play without them (even if only used in the post-game and the second playthrough) , GF knows that, and since we can only use pokemon registered in the galar dex ,then the starters must be registred in the galar dex.
Maybe we won't find them in the wild but we will catch them in events ,like what the dynamax continuation rumour says about torterra

By that logic, Game Freak wouldn't be removing any Pokemon from the dex, since every Pokemon is someone's favorite.

yeah, i dont see them including all the starter pokemon from previous generations either. I would be surprised if they included any amount beyond kanto to be honest. They may be some of the most popular, but they are associated with their own region.
