Right. So, cryptic - in the first draft, it wasn't really clear what the story was going to be about. It was like a snippet from a longer chapter - I'm not sure school was mentioned at all, for example. The summary you added goes some way to fixing that. I wonder what you've got planned for Chapter Two, to be honest, and whether it could be merged with Chapter One. As for characters, well, with major characters you'll need to have each one speak with their own "voice" - that is, their own manner of speaking, with recognisable differences in the words they use, or how they use them. You can use character tics and so forth to reinforce that. Without that, then in conversations which are heavy on the dialogue side, you'll have to use dialogue tags at the end of every sentence to avoid confusing your reader

Oh, it's alright. I don't much like seeing stories with no comments at all, and I'm a quick reader anyway. I don't mind expanding on my review a bit - how about you prepare some questions for me and I'll get back to you when I can? Oh, and I've found that people tend to be more likely to review a reviewer. It's worth commenting on what you read, and people tend to appreciate it even if you don't post a detailed review
