Really though, I think that there's nothing that better describes a human being than the conditions he was placed in.

Then if someone receives their motivation purely from birth, it's a chance thing.

Not everyone has the incentive or will or application. I believe a large part of that comes from the system in which someone is placed. Sure, you can have a childhood that seemingly offers no opportunities, but that doesn't mean that that childhood won't move you to move on with your life.

Oh, of course, I have no qualms with that. But I think that the conditions that are instilled in someone throughout their lives shape whether or not they have the necessary drive.

That's how I view most of history. Consider how things shaped out in the way they did. Whenever someone made a choice, it was shaped by the way they were carried throughout life. Whenever something random happened, it was an act of chance or a force of nature.

Yeah, but the way we act is defined by the system we're put in. I would argue that someone who 'creates himself' in a certain way is doing it in that way because of the way they've grown. Certainly no 2-year old decides on a thoughtful level how he's going to interact with the world. He just responds to the stimuli.

My computer is back and fixed. It was definately the mother board but I didn't have to pay much at least.=P
I actually had $100AU left over since it wasn't as expensive as I originally prepared for.lol
So I have the money sitting on my desk until I can decide what I'm doing with it.
I preordered the 12th Pokemon movie DVD today. This is the first time I have ever seen a preorder form for a Pokemon movie before. Very awsome because now I don't have to worry about charging from store to store hunting for it. I get first dibs and will be able to get it on time aswell.^-^
I bought a very very cute uxie plushy aswell today. It was so cheap I couldn't resist.^-^
I'm probably going to be going mad over the next week due to the DVD release so be warned. I can go crazy with excitement over stuff like this.lol
