So for those who don't know, I made a region some months ago, called the Orado region. Looking back on it, it was sloppy, and wasn't really cohesive. It was just me dropping my ideas without really doing research into a setting, gyms, or other such things.

But not anymore!

Guys, gals, and non-binary pals, I give you Ileko! Based on my home country, Nigeria! You can read up on Nigeria if you want, learn about our customs, foods, animals, and favorite things to do - you might recognize some of them in the Pokemon, mechanics and characters of my region!

Ileko is a culturally rich region with a focus on the arts and creation! Everyone can make their own form of art if you just set your mind to it!

A map of the Ileko region. Without towns or routes
But I've been talking for too long! Let's meet our starter Pokemon!
Leafox! The Bush Pokemon!
Grass type!
It chews on berries to leak juice from them, which it then uses to mark its territory, spreading the juice with its tail!
Its tail is made entirely of leaves. It dips it in water to help grow its tail, and gets energy with photosynthesis!
Goatemp! The Goat Pokemon!
Fire type!
Its horns cast little flames at all times, and when it's excited, the fire erupts to high heavens!
Its fur coat sets ablaze when it's excited along with its horns. It's very light on its feet, and it prides itself with its feet skills!
Crabubble! The Crab Pokemon!
Water type!
It has two claws, one sharp and one flat. It uses them in tandem while fighting. It can blow bubbles with its mouth!
It blows bubbles to store berries, seaweed and other foods and keep them fresh, for future consumption!
So trainers, I'm Professor Iroko, and welcome to Ileko! What starter will you pick?

I have to reveal more Pokemon, I'm itching to share more of the region I've created.
Egretower the Compactor Pokemon!
Flying/Steel type!
It has an organ in its stomach that compresses whatever it eats. It is known to consume trash, the organ compresses the trash into a perfect cube shape!
It takes pride in having a perfect nest. Using an organ in its body, it compresses and regurgitates consumed trash, using it to build a tall nest or traps for prey!
Waspot the Ceramic Pokemon!
Bug/Ground type!
Waspot consumes mud and stones into its diet. It uses its spit to make pots and other items, and uses them as nests. The more smooth the nest, the more honor it gets from its peers.
Humans are known to take the nests made by Waspot. They fire them and make them pottery. Waspot are known as the "potters of the insect kingdom".

Prismaw the Glass Pokemon!
Rock/Dragon type!
Its spines and claws are made of a reflective mineral it consumes. Light shines through it, allowing it to fire off light attacks.
It loves to eat rocks. It puts on shows with its peers, using its glass spines to shine light in all sorts of colors.

Egretower seems like Garbodor’s nightmare.

Waspot and Prismaw sound pretty cool; they’re possible team candidates for sure. Waspot in particular reminds me of a mud dauber wasp as well.

Say hello the first Ilekoan forms to be found in the region!
Ilekoan Sandygast and Palossand! Water/Grass types!
In the Ileko Region, Sandygast and Palossand live in the swampy areas of the South, where they possess masses of seaweed and sticks! They eat small bug Pokemon by draining their life force with their slimy seaweed tendrils. They have a stick stuck into their heads that serve as a dowsing rod, which helps find water and more seaweed if they ever need some.
Welcome the multi-billion company Intellisolve!
Intellisolve is a corporation that works in the Ileko region, and aims to commercialize the culture of the region and help develop the region’s economy. What they aim to gain from it however, is unknown.
Intellisolve is led by a billionare named William Towers, but most people call him Bill Towers instead. Its shorter and easier.
There's a legend of the two Pokemon that created the Ileko Region.... they fought over it. All we know is that they were an eagle and a serpent...

Introducing one of the champion features of the Ileko Region: The Tribe System!
The tribe system is the main gimmick of the Ileko region, and is connected to all the other gimmicks the region has to offer. At the beginning of the game, the player gets to pick a tribe they want to be a part of:
  • Faaji Tribe: Tribe whose art form is based on architecture and performance.
  • Isinri Tribe: Tribe whose art form is based on cooking and ceramics.
  • Tufafi Tribe: Tribe whose art form is based on clothing and literature.
  • Ameride Tribe: Tribe whose art form is based on paint and music.
After picking a tribe, this determines what clothes you can purchase, and at the end of the game, what tribe chief you fight first, and also what “artwork” that is made in your honor at the end of the game. There are more things connected to your picked tribe, but those are for you to find out....
Say hello to Lizardry and Malimbounce! Counterparts in the Ileko Region!
Fire/Dragon and Fire/Flying. Lizardry and Malimbounce have a predator-prey relationship, that seems to go vice versa! They hunt each others' eggs to eat, and young ones are known to squabble and fight each other. But, both species are yet to depopulate each other in to extinction.

Lizardry loves to sit in the sun. It absorbs sunlight, letting the heat energy flow through its scales, which turn red as a result. When touched, it erupts, and erratically waves its limbs and tail around, scattering damaging embers about. Even, this is the basis of its new move, Jittering Flames - it charges up for a turn, and lets off damaging embers. In harsh sunlight it doesn't take a turn.

Malimbounce does a similar thing, where it sits with its beak open, sucking up hot air, swelling the pouch that sits on its chest. Once the pouch is full it flies over to its prey, and opens its beak, letting out a burst of fire, and a high pitched sound. The higher the pitch, the more respect it gets from its peers.

......what's that? Your Prismaw is evolving! Once your Prismaw reaches level 18, say hello to its evolution, Rainbite!
Rainbite consumes light itself, although its not very filling, but it is delicious! It still eats glass, but it has learnt to heat up sand to make natural, edible glass for itself.

Rainbite's glass crystals don't grow well most of the time. They usually end up as simple rocks, and require heating to turn crystalline. Luckily, some cave Pokemon are happy to oblige.

Say hello to Smortal and Hyenoise! Two Pokemon you can find in the deserts of the East!
Smortal is a Fire/Ghost type! Its born from the spirit of little children who got lost in the desert, and that possessed campfires. It feeds off fear, and loves to scare people for nourishment.

Hyenoise is a Psychic type. It loves to laugh loudly. The louder the laugh, the more powerful the psychic sound waves produced from it are. It uses these howls for hunting.

Again? Your Rainbite is evolving! When it reaches level 38, it evolves into Kaijewel!
Kaijewel is fabled to eat entire mountains. That's usually a myth. Usually. It is known to carve cliff-sides into perfectly flat stages, and puts on magnificent light shows - using its colossal crystals.

A simple step allows it to cause crystal spikes to erupt from the ground. Its a master of crystalmancy.

.....what's that??! Your Starter Pokemon are evolving??!!!
Your Leafox evolved into Vulplant!
With its tail much bigger and better than before, it has become prissy and perfection-crazed, if any dirt is stuck in it, it goes into a fit of rage!
It uses its paws to crush berries and places the juice in a carved out rock, which it then uses the juice to wash out its tail if it's dirty so its tail is sweet-smelling!
Your Goatemp evolved into Ramblaze!
It must learn to keep its flames under control so it does not burn its face. It can scale tall mountains in around fifteen minutes!
It loves to skid around on its hooves. It's very light and airy, and it oozes happiness!
Your Crabubble evolved into Lobstew!
It’s sharp claw pricks it a lot. It can’t really coordinate well anymore, it's always tittering and not concentrating like before!
It blows bubbles of up to 10 metres in diameter. It uses them to store items it likes. It has an outstanding collection and understanding for berry theory!

Meet your three fossil Pokemon!
Sablaze, revived from the Fang Fossil!
Spinosaw, revived from the Saw Fossil!
Mortisaur, revived from the Spike Fossil!

Sablaze is a Fire/Ice type. When it was first revived it was given a technological implant that was a thermometer, and it learned to control temperature, substituting its lost fangs for lava and ice.
Spinosaw is a Dragon/Steel type. When it was first revived it was given a technological implant that was a buzzsaw, and it learned to eat iron to regenerate its buzz saw for hunting.
Mortisaur is a Ground/Ghost type. When it was first revived nothing worked for it, so it perished, and its soul possessed the dead corpse, and the empty spaces for its spikes became graves.
