This is Pokemon Advance, a series that fixes most of the flaws of the first series.

The cuteness factor no longer exists.

Ash has a ton of evolutions on his team. Even May's cute cuddly Torchic evolved into a fierce Combusken.

Thank goodness the writers made Advance such a good series, there are tons of evolutions.

Yeah, but the dub hasn't gotten there yet and at the Japanese point, he's left it at Oak's.

He gets Glalie right before the Hoenn League, and leaves it right after! It spends some good time as a Snorunt, though.
