"Link Another User's Account"?

What exactly is the purpose of this feature? Is it to merge two accounts into one? Simply to identify oneself as having more than one account simultaneously? And while we're at it, what would be the purpose of having more than one account, aside from aesthetics (such as Westmyn)?

It does what it says, i.e. makes switching between accounts, easier. You don't have to log in or anything just push a button.

I'd just like to point out that, although it makes changing between the accounts easier, it removes the ability to go to your userpage by clicking your name. Its instead used to open a drop down menu of linked accounts.

Also, the two examples evkl gave are really the only reasons to create another account in the first place.

Only under specific circumstances. Like the Halloween party thread, for one.
