I’m not sure what you’re getting at.

Like, they could announce the games in January.

But bringing up 6+ years stuff just to make a point is redundant.

Seeing as this was 6 years ago, and a lot of people here probably weren't as interested in fansites back then (or weren't even old enough to post, in the case of anyone 18 or younger), I'm gonna say probably.

Is it worth noting this just seems to be the Simplified Logo? Shouldn’t the Tradition Logo be trademarked as well or is that not necessary?

Premier Balls usually have red in the line, this just looks like a Poke Ball with the red removed.

The Logo isn’t new, it’s a re-trademark, Bulbapedia has had both Chinese Logos since as early as January 5th, 2017.

The White Pokéball is just that and nothing more, a white Pokéball that just happens to be a part of the Logo.
