The "Is My Pokémon Hacked?" Thread

Hi, I have this Shiny Mew I got from Professor Jacel, and I'm worried that it's a hack. (Don't worry, Jacel dosn't have anything to do with it, he just traded it to me.)

Well, just by looking at it's level, I'd say it's hacked. I think the lowest leveled event Mew was level 5. So it looks like the OT used an AR code to encounter a shiny Mew in the wild.

It's hacked, there was never a Shaymin event with the OT Ash.
It is possible it's just a regular Shaymin from the Oak's Letter event, though. In that case, the ball would be the only thing hacked.

It's in a Great Ball and isn't from Orre so yes, it's hacked.

It looks fine to me. It has the correct encounter level.

The HP stat seems rather high for a level 50 Cresselia but would be possible if EV'd a lot (~112 EVs) in HP in BW (since Gen IV EV's are applied upon levelling up). Speaking of which, knowing the EVs would be useful, or at least the stats without EVs.

the fact that it's shiny seems a bit unbelievable. Fateful encounter, probably a glitch. Fateful encounter has little to do with actual battle (fateful encounter is tagged on event pokemon so that they obey you in battle. without it, they won't obey you, even if you have all the necessary badges), but it does trigger exclusive gameplay if there is an event pokemon of that same species that does such a thing. Location, Latios is a hoenn pokemon, however in HG/SS it can be found in kanto.

It's hacked. There's never been an event for shiny Latios, and it wouldn't be in a Master Ball if it were an event Pokemon.

It's hacked. There's never been an event for shiny Latios, and it wouldn't be in a Master Ball if it were an event Pokemon.

I didn't say it was an event Pokemon, only that it was made to look like one. I'm saying it's hacked because event Pokemon are never in Master Balls, only Poke Balls or Cherish Balls, therefore it is not a legit Pokemon.

Fateful Encounter usually only applies to event Pokemon, but in this case, it's not. There were only three event Latios that were distributed during Gen III, and none of them are level 50. They were all level 70.

My guess is somebody created this Pokemon with PokeSav or with an AR code.

If it really did come from the Dream World, it would've had an encounter level of 10, not 30. There was a level 30 Riolu you could obtain from Pokemon Ranger: Shadows of Almia, but it would be impossible for it to have it's hidden ability and be in a Dream Ball. So this is probably hacked.

Stats: This is where it raises a red flag for me. Here is what the IV guy says about its "intriguing potential"

Outstanding Overall. Best potential lies in HP. And its Attack stat is also good. Its defense stat is also good. Its Sp. Atk is equally good. Its Sp. Def stat is good as well. Well, its Speed stat is also good. Its Fantastic in that regard. That's how I judged it.

Ive since maxed out its EVs. i cant recall where i put my points...But the IV checker on veekun reported evey stat to have either 30 or 31 when I first checked.

At level 74 now, its stats are: 259 HP, 211 Atk, 126 Def, Sp. Atk 145 (+ rash), Sp. Def 105 (- Rash), Speed 198
