Character customizations?

ANYWAY, BACK ON TOPIC:

I'd like to see the original May/Brendan sprites. They give everything more of a Hoenn feel.

Part of me is worried they'd just use the same base models from XY and differentiate the characters based on the default hair and clothes....but assuming they're not....

...I'd like to see Brendan and May's RS outfits as the first two interchangeable outfits for the characters.

There is definitely a chance that they'll use the base models, but at the same time it's also quite likely that if they do, they will have Brendan/May outfits to begin with.

I too would like the option of having either white or Purple hair. And purple eyes, I want my character to definitely have purple eyes.

I actually don't hope they bring back clothing or accessories. I never really dressed my characters up in X & Y nor did I have much of an interest to it. If they carried this over to ORAS then it would feel like taking away the focus from the main protagonists, May and Brendan.

You do realize that it's not actually May/Brendan that are the protagonists, it's YOU. That's why customization is something that should be added, because then the protagonist can actually BECOME the player, which is how it should be.
Also, just cuz you don't like the feature, doesn't mean they should remove it. If you don't like it, don't use it.

Not just purple and white: ALL THE COLOURS. Red, green, or blue hair. Or orange or pink.
All coloured irises as well, excluding black and white obviously. Green eyes, blue eyes, red eyes, purple eyes, pink eyes, and so on.

And that's exactly why anybody would be against customization in the remakes, its not supposed to be you. PC characters in RPG's never went too far in that regard as it creates a weird connection between the game and the players. I understand trading and battling is something that is a core of the series, but if by all means we're gonna have it online and what not, don't have it melt into the single player part of the game by having your multiplayer avatar as the single player character. At that point it just devalues and destroys the need to experience the already middling RPG story.

I'm not saying that they should remove it based on my opinion, I'm just saying I'm personally not a fan of the feature and probably won't use it. As for the protagonists, May/Brendan are the protagonists for Hoenn, creating a completely different look would make it feel like you're playing as a completely different character.

Will we have customization? I don't know. Do I want it? Heck yes, it's among the best features XY introduced and something that should've been in the games for years already. Just throw an original costume for those who want to stick with the old canon outfits and everything is fine.

I've always viewed every PC character as yourself. There has been customisation to a certain degree ever since the first generation. You get to choose your own Pokemon, your own strategies, and even your own name, just not your look. That to me feels much more like playing as your own character rather than a set character. Character customisation is just one more way to customise your own character, which I am very happy has been a feature that has been introduced. I'm expecting customisation to continue with these games, I doubt Gamefreak will want to remove such a great feature so quickly.

As long as it doesn't go overboard (cuz this is POKEMON, not the Sims), I'd say the more variety, the better. But I do want Brendan/May to retain their features. Even though I'm the one controlling the player character, if I choose to play as Brendan, then it's simply that I'm customizing Brendan to fit my tastes. Me=/=Brendan.

The player characters are just avatars, nothing more. They only serve as a link between the player and the game. The only reason I think there should be "canon" appearances for them is to make the life of fanartist easier. I don't care about May/Brendan retaining or not their features, if customization is back, I will completely change May's design to fit my tastes/to look closer to me anyway. My Serena in Pokémon Y looked nothing like "canon Serena". The more customization options, the better. It would be nice if we could change even the height, weight, facial shape, etc of the PCs, but I am not really hoping for that. More skin tones and far more clothes/outfit would be a good start to improve the feature. It isn't The Sims, but it still is a video game with a heavy emphasis on the "personal journey" aspect (even if some don't play having this aspect in mind), so more customization options would do only good.

How much space does XY take up?

About 4GB IIRC. And a 3DS cartridge can store up to 8 GB. So, yeah, if they wanted to, they could definitely add outfits from gym leaders/e4/trainer classes.

EDIT: Just checked. It's only ~1.7 GB. So I'm just more correct...

Wow, 1.7 GB out of 8 allowed... Just imagine how huge of a game could fit in there. XY already seem big. But on topic, yeah....they could fit LOTS LOTS LOTS more clothes among many other things.

Heck yeah I want the customization back, Even if we're not in PokeFrance. But this time, I'd definitely like to see a bit more gender equality in terms of clothing and hair options. The male selection of customization items in X/Y was just piddly.

As for the Player/Character connection... I usually just end up making characters I play as characters from other media anyways just for a laugh, so I guess I can't even really edge in on the debate there.

* Interchageable pallettes, so I can be Emerald brenda again.
* Hatless mode
* Bandana for brendan and sock hat thing for may
* Wear go-goggles on actual head.
* Have rival change costume on occaision (we can stop wearing the same, sweaty clothes, so why can't our rival)

Maybe, but one loom on deviantart proves that the rule 34 community does NOT need to be spurred on.

Gamefreak shouldn't let character customization be limited because someone might rule 34 it ( There probably is rule 34 of the hoenn protagonists i have no idea but if the rules true then there probabaly is) Because eitehr way someone will make a rule 34 of it beach wear or no beach wear.

besides phobe wears basically the hola dance colthing and they have no problem with it, multiple charcetrs in x/y and r/s/e have swim suits it shouldn't be a big deal to let the protags wear them too.
