Speedromizer VIII is set to go live this weekend December 5th-7th, continuing with part 2 the following weekend December 12th-14th. Two Gameboy Color Pokémon games are scheduled for the 13th: Pokémon Trading Card Game and Pokémon Crystal, the latter of which will be a part of a multiworld alongside Tunic and Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. The event will be raising money for QMUNITY!, a resource center for LGBTQ+ people in British Columbia.

The third edition of the Shine in the Dark speedrun marathon is set to go live this weekend, over November 29th and 30th. Every run in the event will be performed blindfolded. Pokémon Diamond/Pearl and Pokémon Emerald are scheduled to be part of the event, running back-to-back on the second day. Somewhat unusually, the marathon organizers have neglected to include information on the schedule page about which Twitch channel the event will be streamed on, only saying it's a "surprise". A YouTube simulcast will also be available.

A French speedrunning marathon celebrating the Nintendo DS's 20th anniversary will be taking place this weekend, November 22nd and 23rd. Entitled Dual Screen Them All, the marathon is scheduled to feature a total of three Pokémon games: Diamond/Pearl, HeartGold/SoulSilver, and Learn With Pokémon: Typing Adventure. Or, Conquer the Keyboard as it literally translates to from French, if you ever thought Pokémon game names couldn't be metal (besides actual metals). The event will be streamed on the SpeedThemAll Twitch channel.

Pokémon Red/Blue will be featured in Scène Speedrun marathon benefiting 3 Hit Combo. Scène Speedrun will be live this weekend from 360 + Rennes 2 University as part of Stunfest's 3 Hit Combo, a Rennes-based association founded in 2005. Their goal is to develop and promote video game cultures as a source of social connection and creativity by giving unique experiences that one could not have elsewhere around the major themes of the association's colleges. Fukuoka RTA Forum is once again set to go live from Japan this weekend, from October 18th-19th. A run of Pokémon Sword/Shield is scheduled for the event, which will be available to watch on its Twitch channel. Proceeds from Twitch subscriptions and merchandise will be used to fund their events and donate to various charitable organizations.

The Brazilian speedrunning community will be coming together for Brazilians Against Time (BRAT) 2025 between October 15th and October 19th. The event will be raising money for Doctors Without Borders. In what may well be a first and last time the author of these articles will get to report on this, a Pokémon game will feature as part of the speedrunning event on the day of its release. Just a block of a casual playthrough, mind you - they're unlikely to finish and there's no indication this is going to be a speedy casual playthrough. The inaugural RPG Speedrunner Union Event is set to go live daily from October 12th through to October 18th. Set to take place live from the Netherlands as well as online, RPGSU was founded to bring European RPG speedrunners together and showcase what makes their runs special. The third day of the event (October 14th) is scheduled to be a trifecta of Pokémon runs of Generations 1-3 by Crrool, without the use of Pokémon Centers or Poké Mart stores. The event can be watched from the group's Twitch channel.

The 2025 edition of Multithon Rivals is set to take place this weekend from October 10th to October 12th. A diploma race of Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee in which the competitors will attempt to catch'em all* (150) will be taking place on Sunday. Like all previous Multithon events, the marathon will be raising money for BluePath Service Dogs, an organization that provides service animals to autistic individuals, offering them safety, companionship, and opportunities for independence. The event can be watched from its Twitch channel, which will be live from late morning to around 12:00am (PDT) each day.

The Fastest Furs will be returning for their autumn 2025 marathon from October 9th to October 12th, raising money for Trans Lifeline. While the event is primarily speedrun focused, a score attack of New Pokémon Snap is scheduled to be part of the event, which will be streaming via the group's Twitch channel.

As first announced on the official Discord, the latest side-event in the Final Fantasy V Four Job Fiesta charity event is set to go live for the entire month of October. Similar to the Kanto-focused event from earlier this year, this side-event, fully entitled Pokémon: Go Play With Six Critters - Johto is Garbage Edition will focus on Pokémon games set in the Johto region. Any game is considered valid to play. The event will be raising money for Trans Lifeline.

NSG Fall 2025 has officially begun. This speedrun marathon is taking place over the course of this weekend live out of Ask, Gjerdrum, Norway, and is raising donations for NRK's TV-aksjonen, partnered with Atlas Alliansen, for various causes across the country. A tutorial on how to speedrun Pokémon Red/Blue with two players and one controller will be showcased at the event, which can be watched on its official Twitch channel.

Completithon 2025 is scheduled to take place between September 17th to September 21st. The marathon will be raising money for Girls Make Games Scholarship Fund, a program dedicated to helping young girls enter the game development industry. A randomized co-op run of Pokémon Crystal in which the players will attempt to catch all Pokémon will be part of the event, which can be watched from its Twitch channel.

The 2025 edition of Long Speedrun Summit will be taking place from September 12th through to October 12th. This is a Japanese speedrun marathon dedicated to lengthy speedruns. Pokémon Legends Arceus will be one of the games featured, alongside a run of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky that has an estimate of 69 hours and will aim to recruit all Pokémon. As with all Long Speedrun Summit events, it can be watched from their official Twitch channel.

The second weekend of SpeedDocsAThon's 2025 edition is scheduled to begin on August 29th, raising money for Save the Children. A run of Pokémon Snap will feature in the event on Saturday August 30th. The marathon can be watched from its official Twitch channel.

The charity speedrunning marathon RTA in Japan will be returning for its latest edition from August 9th to August 15th.

AusSpeedruns is set to go live from Adelaide, Australia with their 2025 Marathon, running from July 15th to July 20th local time. A "Baton Pass" race of Pokémon HeartGold is scheduled for the third day of the event. This year's event will be raising money for Cure Cancer, and can be watched from AusSpeedrun's official Twitch channel.

A Pokémon fan visiting the Vatican had a unique experience with new Pope Leo XIV. The individual, who works as a TCG League leader, visited His Holiness with a Popplio card from the English Lost Thunder expansion. Another person presented the card, and the Pope graciously signed it. The photos since gone viral, and as of writing has been reposted over 5000 times, received 47,000 likes, and is being reported on major news sites.

Runs of two Pokémon games are scheduled to feature in the Summer Games Done Quick 2025 charity marathon, which is being held live at the Hilton Minneapolis Downtown from July 6th to July 12th. As always with SGDQ, the event will be raising money for Doctors Without Borders, a nonprofit and non-government organization that provides humanitarian health care across the world. The marathon can be watched live on the GDQ Twitch channel.

After taking a year off for reorganizing, the European Speedrunner Assembly will be returning on Saturday, June 28th live out of the Quality Hotel View in Malmö, Sweden. The event will feature a week of speedrunning, ending on July 5th, raising money for Alzheimerfonden - the Swedish Alzheimer’s Foundation. This year's event will be returning to a non-stop format for the primary stream after the events in 2024 which had scheduled breaks overnight, although stream 2 will continue to have breaks. Runs of four Pokémon games are scheduled to take place across the two streams. The main stream is available here, while the secondary stream can be watched here.

The Halo speedrunning community are coming together this weekend for a marathon of non-Halo runs. It's a little counterintuitive at first thought for sure! Every run in the marathon will be performed by a member of the Halo community and feature a non-Halo game. Among the speedruns performed will be a run of Pokémon Red. The event can be watched from the Halo Races Twitch channel.
