The Summer Games Done Quick 2026 charity marathon is being held live at the Hilton Minneapolis Downtown from July 5th to July 11th. A race of Pokémon FireRed is set to feature as part of the event, which will attempt to defeat the Elite Four's upgraded teams (and therefore will feature a recently discovered bug). Like all SGDQ events, it will be raising money for Doctors Without Borders, and can be watched live on the GDQ Twitch channel.

The latest Link to the Cure marathon is scheduled from this weekend, June 5th to June 7th. As with last year's event, a blindfolded speedrun of Pokémon Red is scheduled for the first day of the event, which is raising money for Child's Play charity. The run can be watched from the event's official Twitch channel.

Power Up With Pride's flagship marathon is set to go live this weekend from June 5th to June 7th. The event will run from around 9:15am (EDT) today, and from 8:15am (EDT) Saturday and Sunday, through to around midnight after the last run of each day is completed. The first day of the marathon will feature a run of Pokémon Yellow, and can be watched on the event's official Twitch channel.

The No Glitches Allowed marathon will be returning from May 27th to May 31st, with a "pre-show" featuring Breath of Fire 2 taking place today. The marathon will be raising money for GO Rescue Pet Adoption Center, a nonprofit organization based out of Norfolk, Virginia focused on rescuing dogs and finding them new homes. Runs of Pokémon Rumble and Pokémon Puzzle League will both feature in the marathon, which can be watched on its official Twitch channel.

The 2026 edition of RPG Limit Break is set to go live from May 17th to May 23rd. The event will be taking place both online, and out of the Embassy Suites by Hilton Denver Tech Center in Denver, Colorado. Like all RPG Limit Break marathons, it will be raising money for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Gold are both scheduled to be run at the event, which can be watched on Twitch.

The Nagoya RTA is scheduled to go live from May 3rd to May 5th. While predominantly an in-person series of marathons, they have recently started holding online events, including the RTA EXPERIENCE series of marathons. This particular marathon will feature two Pokémon games, and can be watched from its Twitch channel.

The team at RetroGamingLive are presenting the 2026 edition of Retrothon from April 18th to April 26th. This marathon will run around the clock for the duration and feature a variety of retro games, including a speedrun of Pokémon Puzzle League. The event can be watched from its Twitch channel as well as on their YouTube.

Four Job Fiesta's 2026 Pokévent is now live. In this event, players who register will be assigned one of 78 Pokémon games at random. The goal is to beat the game. If possible. Otherwise "have fun and then submit something."

Really Really Lots of Lore 7 is currently underway, having started on March 30th and scheduled to run through to April 11th. Among other speedurns, a run of Pokémon Scarlet/Violet is scheduled to close out the event, which can be watched from its Twitch channel.

Have you ever used the Help System in Pokémon FireRed or LeafGreen? Maybe only accidentally? Yeah, it was a weird thing. The ability to bring up an in-game tutorial virtually anywhere and anytime was an interesting concept, but it was likely that very few players actually needed it, which is probably why it never returned after these games - at least in such an omnipresently accessible form. However, a recent discovery has given this menu an unusual new lease on life.

STA All Stars 2026 is currently underway, scheduled to last through this weekend. Part of the greater SpeedThemAll series that has been running for over a decade, this marathon is intended to showcase the French speedrunning community. Two Pokémon games, Sapphire and Red/Blue, are scheduled for the event, which is currently live from its Twitch channel.

The Gamers For Hope's 2026 Gamers Against Cancer marathon is scheduled to go live this weekend from March 13th to March 15th. A run of Pokémon Crystal is scheduled for the event, which can be watched from its Twitch channel. The marathon will be raising money for the Stand Up To Cancer Foundation.

Curious players have managed to expose a new bug in the original Generation III games on the Game Boy Advance that was unknown up until this point. This newly identified bug happens when a Roaming Pokémon faints at the same time the player whites out, such as by defeating them with Explosion with only one conscious Pokémon. So what happens if you do this? The Pokémon will remain roaming, but at 0HP.

As Pokémon Day draws closer, a recent rumor circulating the internet has been confirmed. Nintendo Switch ports of the Generation III remakes Pokémon FireRed and Pokémon LeafGreen, have become available for preorder on the Nintendo eShop. As of writing, no formal announcement about this has been made by official sources outside of these eShop listings.

The second Talk About Love RTA will be taking place tomorrow over Valentine's Day in Japan. In this marathon, runners will not be providing commentary on the speedrun itself, but instead talking about their love for the game they're playing. Pokémon Puzzle Challenge will be one of the runs in the event, which can be watched from its host's Twitch channel.

The winter 2026 edition of European Speedrunner Assembly will be taking place this week from February 6th to February 14th. It will be held live out of Malmö, Sweden. Official Pokémon social media has posted a short video of a Jigglypuff in an empty lounge, along with an announcement that a special video is scheduled to air during Super Bowl LX on February 8th. This is expected to tie into announcements this month as the series celebrates its 30th anniversary.

Questing for Glory (QFG) is set to return for its eighth installment this week from January 25th to January 31st. Pokémon Gold will feature as part of the marathon on Friday January 30th. It can be watched from the RPGLimitBreak Twitch channel.

The Dutch speedrunning community is coming together for the 2026 edition of BSG Plus this week at the Fletcher Hotel-Restaurant Nieuwegein-Utrecht. This year's event will be raising money for Stichting MIND, a charity for mental health based out of the Netherlands.
