Review DP008: Gureggru of the Mysterious Gym!

So, it looks like we may have this season's gag for how Takeshi's flirting will be dealt with.

...at least it wasn't the ear again.
 
My lord, James' sudden girly yelling at Ash and co regarding the "badges" was HILARIOUS! XD

Just generally when James was yelling it sounded funnier than normal. Nice.

This episode had all kinds of funny elements in it. This seems promising.

...not necessarily. When Takeshi caught Usohachii, the little pokemon sort of headbutted its would-be trainer away from the ladies, making it look like THAT would be the new method of handling Takeshi's flirtations. But, soon enough, the anime went back to the same old ear pulling it had been doing for the past however many years.

Well, let's hope it sticks this time. It's bad enough that Hikari has so much in common with May, it'll be even worse if she starts picking up Misty's traits as well. Hopefully the writers decide to keep Hikari as original as they can (lol) without going back to the ear-pulling method, because she's the only plausible character to actually do it in every episode.

Wonderous episode. I quite enjoyed the gym, and Jessie's English. Especially the "shutup!" Props to Hayashibara-san for good pronounciation.

The way Brock capture Greggle was, to say the least, weird, I thought. He just stared it down and decided he wanted it. o_O;; A water/poison type? Hmm. Perhaps they'll give Jessie something that's not poisonous next...

Figure PUSA will paint over them?
 
Do you think we'll see Jessie use more English in any more up-coming personas?

And BTW, did anyone actually catch the name of the "gym"? I heard Powaazu. Do you think they mean "Powers"? And therefore, "Princess Powers?" o_O;;; I'm still trying to figure out what she screams at Brock. something something I'M A WINNER desu!

Makes me kinda wish Jessie caught Greggle. They were a pretty good team together and Jessie desperately needs a D/P Pokemon.

Let's hope Greggle doesn't suffer the fate of all of Brock's other Pokemon. It would be a shame for it to barely be in battle and amount to nothing like Brock's team ends up doing season after season.
