The "Pokemon can only battle when it has the armor on" thing is like saying a person can't throw a punch unless they have boxing gloves.

Yeah, it is strange. And even Pokémon like Necrozma can battle in their crippled state literally missing body parts. Zygarde can battle with 10% of its cells.
So it’s a bit strange the have a legendary that cannot battle without a piece of armour.
Can you imagine the jokes if that leaked turned out true though??
"Oh, I can't fight right now. I don't have my armor on."
"10% Zygarde: Are you serious?"
"All the Baby Pokemon: Haha what a wimp."
"Abra: GET ON MY LEVEL, SON."
That's why I think that it's fake. I don't think that GF would make a Pokemon outright unable to battle without a special item. And even Pokémon like Necrozma can battle in their crippled state literally missing body parts. Zygarde can battle with 10% of its cells.

Well, Necrozma could battle without Lunala/Solgaleo, which means that doesn't have an excuse.Perhaps the whole "legendary can't battle without armor" thing is more of a story-based thing rather than a mechanic-based thing? Like, the armor is literally a part of the legendary to the point that removing it would harm it somehow. That's the only way it would make sense.
Yeah. There's also the issue that the starter's second types would be locked behind the armor. I don't think that they would do that either.Well, Necrozma could battle without Lunala/Solgaleo, which means that doesn't have an excuse.
Yeah. Might as well simply have it increase stats. Maybe have some that have a secondary effect like, one would give the effect of the Iron Barbs ability.Yeah. There's also the issue that the starter's second types would be locked behind the armor. I don't think that they would do that either.
We have abilities and moves based around items. A very powerful pokemon that could get taken out by taking its item out makes sensr game mechanic wise. Those moves and abilities would gain even more sense. Do you all think that armors will be pernament like megas or removable like other items?Perhaps the whole "legendary can't battle without armor" thing is more of a story-based thing rather than a mechanic-based thing? Also, certain items like Z-Crystals and Mega Stones are protected from Knock Off and other item removing moves, why would this be different? The rumor claims only the legendary is required to have its armor on. It still doesn't make sense to make Knock Off an instant KO. Nobody would bother using the legendary, because it could be taken out in one hit with a move that usually hits.
Depends on its stats and ability. What if it has a very dangerous form? That it can harm our pokemon withot moves? There are also other moves and abilities against items. Snatching its armor maybe possible. It will be a big or small legendary? Remember Hoopa and the bottle to change forms(that could also change now)? Different should be if its much stronger then other pokes then there needs to be some balance strategy wise. The rumor claims only the legendary is required to have its armor on. What if you only take off it armor. It still has hp. Imagine that with or without armor every turn it causes oponents pokemon to loose 1/6 of all hp every turn and has a better stast then other pokemon. Then you would want it to not be able to use its moves to attack it.It doesn't matter what strategies it has. If another Pokemon can take it out in one move, then all that matters is the speed. And with a Quick Claw, even that wouldn't matter.
Maybe it has a item that it needs? Maybe its a ghost in ice armor or something like that? Or a fire spirit in steel armor? We will see dont worry. Maybe they will be legends that need the armors are are bound with them more then other pokemon. Maybe this armors will be giving bigger powers then megas but will be removable like items? The pokemon entering battle would be already transformed but can be able to deactivate it during battle without loosing them. Interesting if armors will be in different items? Sword, shield, hammer, helmet, saber, arrow, armor...Then it would still be in battle. So the idea that it needs armor to be in battle would be untrue. It could work as a hypothetical, but the only source that claims the wolf needs armor claims that it needs it to enter battle at all.
