Mismagius is definitely good as a Special Attack specialist. You can go with Choice Specs as a held item, a Wise Glasses and a few other options. You could try something like Energy Ball, Psychic, Thunderbolt and Shadow Ball, which would cover many bases and give you a real force against Psychics, other Ghost-types and generally low SD foes. Other options would be Calm Mind, Destiny Bond, Thunder Wave, Confuse Ray, Pain Split and Will-O-Wisp. I believe I've hit the main points for Mismagius, so there ya go.

Okay, thanks. I'll make it a Special Attacker/Sweeper, then. =D

No it is not a debate. A Pokemon is made uber because it does not have a counter, which Wobbafet does not.

Not be a stupid and stay in and switch to hmmm I don't know, a Dark resist, or a Tyranitar counter maybe? Hmmmm.

(When you have to swicth a pokemon out for something different depending on every opponent, it's in no way an uber.)

What's that Skarmory (any support Pokemon), you still get a free switch in on Screech and atleast one Spike before you have to switch out due to screech? And of course, that is assuming you aren't stupid and stay in.

(That's IF. what if they don't have it. and again, swtiching is something any pokemon can do.)

What's that Dark Pulse? Go Dark resist!

(switching again? it might as well be a rattata or bidoof! you aren't using it in anyway with these stratigies!)

Thunderbolt = Electivire switch in

Flamethrower = Heatran Switch in

(So you're going to predict that they're going to use either attack on a psychic type?)

And if I recall, Haseo asked why it was uber, and I answered. You would not be asking about tiers unless you are trying to atleast battle competitvely. I for one am dumbfounded at the amount of people who don't even care for cometitive battling yet whine about their favorite Pokemon being UU, yet there are people I know who are such good cometitive battlers yet they don't mind what tier they're Pokemon is in.

(let's see, how many different ways is this wrong? I do try to battle competitvely when I feel like it, so that's wrong. Favorite pokemon?! I wouldn't use wobuffet unless you paid me!

It's called "Switch"

(It's called, that pokemon is worthless. if all your situations with wobuffet involve switching it to something else, then the pokemon is never used, and could very well just be a bidoof, and yet the strategy would be the same.)

So what I keep Deoxys-F in on a staraptor I know has Quick attack, and yes it will most likely kill me.

Fine Deoxys isn't uber, neither is wobbaffet.

When you have to swicth a pokemon out for something different depending on every opponent, it's in no way an uber.)

You would never actually have to switch it out, ever unless it is a lead and is not a Pokemon that it is ideal for. The fact that wobbafet can choose it's opponent, the fact that no one can switch into it, the fact that it can lock you into a move, and in a case of it being a special dark (which mirrorcoat won't work on) or something like Dragondance, will allow you to safetly switch in another Pokemon. Wobbafet is not being forced out, it is choosing to leave.

(That's IF. what if they don't have it. and again, swtiching is something any pokemon can do.)

And that's IF a Pokemon uses a move it generally does not use. Oh and if you didn't know, good battlers do generally have Pokemon setting up support or status, if not, than they'll just send in a counter and switch out later.

(switching again? it might as well be a rattata or bidoof! you aren't using it in anyway with these stratigies!)

Because we all know good battlers will never switch even when they know they are at a disadvantage. Oh by the way, Kyogre is at a disadvantage against Shedinja, just like how Wobbafet is at a disadvantage at Special Dark moves incase you bring that up. I felt it necissary to edit once again because you might not realise that Kyogre has nothing to hit a Shedinja, and using something like HP [ghost] just to kill it is a waste of a moveslot do to it being uncommon(but not unheard of). Now you may be thinking "Ghost is super effective on psychics, and there are a lot of those in ubers", but Surf with Drizzle and STAB will do way more than it can.

I also don't see how locking a Pokemon into a move and giving your next Pokemon basically a free switch in because they have a resist to it is not a strategy. Kindly explain.

(So you're going to predict that they're going to use either attack on a psychic type?)

Wobbafet used encore
Pokemon's move has been encored.

Really, after that first move it's not that hard to figure out what they'll do next, unless you don't know what encore does.

(let's see, how many different ways is this wrong? I do try to battle competitvely when I feel like it, so that's wrong. Favorite pokemon?! I wouldn't use wobuffet unless you paid me!

Where exactly did I say that you liked wobbafet? When did I ever say that using your favorites is wrong either? Wow nice putting words in my mouth. By the way, incase your wondering, those good battlers I mentioned do use their UU Pokemon in OU.

(It's called, that pokemon is worthless. if all your situations with wobuffet involve switching it to something else, then the pokemon is never used, and could very well just be a bidoof, and yet the strategy would be the same.)

It's called there is a lot of switching in Pokemon battles. Just because a Pokemon switches out does not mean it is useless.

Now if any of you can actually find a Pokemon who can switch into wobbafet and not fall prey to Encore+Counter/Magicoat, (which is basically special darks and physical ghosts) than by all means I will retract my statement and not call it uber. Of course in order to switch in, your Pokemon will have to switch out, which means all the Pokemon must have shedshell, and all teams must have a Physical Ghost or a Special Dark. Now that's overcentralizing the metagame. Yet another trait of an uber. You people complain about "Smogon" making Pokemon lose it's creativenss, yet you forget that the desire to win is human nature, and without these restrictions peopel will overcentralize the metagame. Has anyone been on PBR randoms lately? I haven't but I know it's full of ubers and people are sick of it. They are unable to use they're weaker Pokemon.

No, but I've seen plenty of occasions where Wobbuffet is the starting Pokemon and the opening opposition is a Tyranitar. I wouldn't be inclined to do so, but meh.

I forget how switching is not an option in the non-competitive scene. If it were, there would not be questions such as "what if it encored <insert dark move>" or "what if it encored dragon dance"

It's a free switch in in the case of DD.

Now you people can stop debating this against me unless you actually know what you are talking about, but if you want to insult me on how an elitist prick I am (apparantly knowing the basics makes me so) just send it to PMs.

(fucking last time I'll bother answering a question since everyone seems to attack me for giving them an answer they did not want to hear)

(I usually do that as a suprise to people when I train something well. Battling is, in my opinion, using suprise to gain the upper hand.)

(No, but when every slightly problematic situation is answered by switching, the it is consided almost worthless.)

(deoxys is used as a OHKO. that's uber.)

Wobbafet is guaranteed a kill.

(No one can switch into it? A lot of pokemon can switch into it, namely ALL ghost types and dark types)

Shadow tag keeps you from switching out, therefor there is no possible way a Pokemon can switch into it.

(If you encore someone, won't they just switch too?)

They can't switch the turn you switched. The fact that they do switch mean you get a free switch in, and also a free set up. SOmething very valuable in battle.

(No, but when every slightly problematic situation is answered by switching, the it is consided almost worthless.)

I f rget, how many things switch into Garchomp and cause it problems (Skarmory, Cresselia, Mesprit, Bulky waters in general, Bronzong)? Surely way more than wobbafet (especially since nothing can switch into it). Encoring a non-offensive move is not problematic at all for wobbaffet since it allows you to get a free switch in for something else. The number of Special Darks and Physical Ghosts are very slim, and no Dusknoir does not like being locked into Will-o-wisp, especially when that spells a free switch in for Guts Pokemon like Heracross.

Get that through your head.

(Special Dark, huh? You know, I hear that a lot dark pokemon are used for special sweepers.)

Yet most of them aren't too particularly good at it. Also, Wobbafet won't switch into a special dark so problem solved. A special dark will never be able to switch into Wobbafet to counter it becaue of SHadow tag.

Get that through your head.

(...That made so little sense, I'm not sure what to say.)

Let me simplify. People like you and Shady wolf who are more or less casual battlers think that switching amkes you weak, when knowing when to retreat is good. What Shady Wolf is getting at is that having a Wobba lead against a Tyranitar lead will end up killing it. IT can be so easily dealt with by switching. Only bad strategist would sacrifice something that early in the game by staying in.

(Everyone? Attack? wow... negative attitude alert. you just walked one step closer on the road. Please, just go back to being the nice guy I (sort of) knew. Besides, we value your advice. Just because some people have a different opinion than yours, doesn't mean that you're under attack when they bring it up to you. Name one time when I attacked YOU personally in this, not just argued my beliefs. Can't find one? Good.)

It wasn't that people disagreed with me, it's that people like Shady Wolf who post crap like this:

I realize in the land of no mixed attackers and no innovation, Wobbuffet get better. Mind you, it doesn't become "omfg SMOGONZZ UBERZZZ", but Wobbuffet does become marginally better. Here's where...wait for it...individualism comes into play. People, believe it or not, do indeed have free will and make wise decisions. This is true in Pokemon, and as stupefied as you may be to hear it...independent of Smogon. We occasionally see flashes of individualism, but it's typically regarded as "hAx" or "omg not the standard and uh am loozeeng". It's a shame you've resigned yourself to (often, I'd imagine) predicting a Pokemon's moveset just by its appearance. I bet those Low Kick Machamp, Psychic-wielding Starmie and all-Special Weezing give you fits when they beat your Snorlax, Gengar and Skarmory. C'est dommage!

And grouping me with those immature people who basically act as if anyone who atleast tries to do something different is a noob.

And no, I did not mean you, that was a reference to how insulting Shadywolf was.

On Helmasaur king's set, Thunderbolt or Ice beam is needed atleast somewhere.

You can tell I'm insulted because I spent the time to post this rather than watch anime.

I see more of your points now.

I'd call it a Semi-uber, then. It doesn't seem right that it's the only non-legendary on the uber list.

But wobuffet isn't gaunteed a KO as I said, it's too slow to DB.

Yeah, There's a reason his name bedings with 'shady'. HE souldn't take it so seriously. It's POKEMON, for crying out loud.

It's a guaranteed KO because of Counter and Magicoat, not because of Destiny BOnd. No one uses it on him because they are too slow. They use Safeguard to protect themselves, and their teamates from coming in on an Encored status move.

Ahhh.... almost forgot about safeguard.

Although I still say the chances of them guessing is low.

So, willl you please help me out? I know you know more than I do.

Okay, asking time.

Garchomp: Jolly/Adamant
EQ
Dragon Claw
Smords Dance
Substitute/Fire Fang

Lucario: Modest
Dark Pulse
Dragon Pulse
Aura Sphere
Psychic

Cacturne: Docile
Spikes
Sucker Punch
Seed Bomb
Grass Whistle

Flygon: Jolly
EQ
Crunch
Dragon Claw
U-Turn

T-Tar: Adamant
Crunch
Stone Edge
EQ
DD

So any suggestions?

Don't necessarily take my word for Cacturne, I don't really use it. Plus, If you are looking for another pokemon for your last slot, I'd use this:

Bronzong@Leftovers
Sassy/Relaxed/Brave
Levitate
252hp, 128 def, 128spdef

Gyro Ball
EQ
Hypnosis
Light Screen(for Brave)/Reflect(for Sassy)/Stealth Rock

You don't have any walls on your team, so this one acts as a dual wall.

It should be Fireblast (or Life orb + Flamethrower) since it does more damage to Skarmory and Bronzong, which is really the only thing this will be used for. Crunch is also an otion to ward of Cresselias and a couple other guys. Substitute imo should only be used if your using Salac Berry, or if you are battling in sand in which case, it may buy you an extra turn.

Thanks you two. You guys really are the best at this stuff.

HOW DARE ANYONE DOUBT WOBBUFFET'S POWER!

wobbuffet is the most powerfull pokemon that was ever devised!
