Legends Z-A Which Legendaries do You Think will return in Legends Z-A?

There's the obvious Xerneas, Yveltal, and Zygarde. But it's very likely that we will be able to catch some of the other legendaries in the game as well.
 
The theories I've encountered that seem plausible + the obvious:
4 Kalos legendaries (including a new A Pokémon)
3 Kalos Mythicals (possibly requiring saves from SV, PLA, etc.)
5 Island Guardians (one new, Fire/Fairy seems to be a popular suggested type)
4 Swords of Justice (including Keldeo)

Don't forget Groudon, Kyogre and Rayquaza. Rayquaza has the Mega and its easy to also implement the Primal forms then.
 
  • Mewtwo and the birds to honor XY, though maybe as a twist the birds will be replaced by their Galarian counterparts to increase their distribution.
  • The Eon duo has Megas and their roaming status could justify them being anywhere.
  • The musketeers have clearly French origins, but their appearances in the Crown Tundra as well as them being available in SV makes me doubt it.
  • Zacian, Zamazenta and Eternatus could flourish the world a bit. If they don't appear they will be the first box legendaries to do not be obtainable in-game in the following generation since Dialga & Palkia.
  • Calyrex could benefit from a wider distribution and there's more stuff to do with it and its telepathic powers, and it's unavailable in SV.
  • Enamorus needs that benefit too, though she would have to bring her brothers along and their subquest may feel like a rethread of PLA.
 
Mostly just some spitballing on my end, but I think it'll be a long the lines of this:
  • Kalos Aura trio (obviously. Though there will also be a fourth "A" one, making it a quartet).
  • The Kalos Mythicals
  • Mewtwo (Megas and already had a notable presence in Gen 6)
  • Hoenn Box Trio. (In the chance they want all the Megas available, I think these will factor in the ORAS stuff too)
  • Latios/Latias (Ditto with the Hoenn Trio)
  • The Island Guardians (They were suspiciously absent in Indigo Disk, and seem like something they'd add another member to)
  • Nor legendaries in the general sense but i think the other Legendary/Mythical spots in analogue to Legends Arceus, I think will actually feature The Hoenn and or Kanto starters, possibly as post game stuff. They will be singular one-time mon you'll need to battle in a similar vein to Z-A
There's also already been some rumores here and there, but I didn't factor those in for possible spoiler reasons and to keep my list as purely speculative from my end as possible.

I don't think they can create more Island Guardians without creating more Alolan islands and thus have Alola be a visitable place, which I highly doubt this game will have.

Adding an Island guardian would imply an additional island but wouldn't require Alola to be visitable in Z-A. They could easily wait until the next Alola-related game to add the home island of the 5th Island Guardian while still having the Guardian show up before then.

Why would any of the Alola Guardians show up outside the Alola Region?
 
I don't think there's going to be much. SV already have most of the legendaries so there's no urgency to cram a ton of them in this game. Besides the Kalos legendaries, they might bring back the 1st or 3rd gen legendaries (but they also might not, hard to say) maybe they'll dip into some of the ones that didn't make it into SV like the Tapus and UBs, maybe they'll create some new ones like what they did with Enamorus in LA, but prob not more than that. I doubt we'll be seeing a ton of legendaries from all or almost all of the generations or anything, they'll probably focus more on filling in the gaps.

Oh, I'm sure the Legendary Pokémon that have Megas will be in the game. As well as ALL the other Pokémon that have Megas (in addition to all the Gen 6 Pokémon).
 
I think that of the non-Gen 6 Legends only Mewtwo, the Latis, and the Weather Trio will be back, along with any Legendaries they want to give Megas to.

I'm not so sure about that. The Weather Trio, for example, don't really feel like they would fit in this game well despite being Megas since their lore is tied to Hoenn. It would take quite an explanation to justify them showing up in Lumiose City, so I'm not sure they're even going to bother. I don't think there's anything close to a sure thing for legendaries aside from the Kalos legendaries, Mewtwo, and the Latis (yes the Latis are also tied to Hoenn, but they're known to fly around the world at high speeds so it's easy to see how they could end up in Lumiose), everything else feels questionable at best.
